@HobbitGamer - I downloaded it this morning before a walk and got into it a bit when we got back. It’s extraordinarily pleasant and timely. Who doesn’t want an island right now? I had to put the Switch to sleep on the screen where I name my island, but I’ll let you know later. I’m down to two finalists for names.
@Eel - Yeah, I think bananas are fairly easy to grow in the right conditions. I know a guy who’s growing a small one indoors. I haven’t seen it in person, but he says it loves a lot of warm light and drinks a lot of water. It doesn’t grow bananas yet.
@Tyranexx - A friend on a group text invited everyone to a Zoom meeting last night to drink a beer, but I couldn’t attend. I had to take some stuff to my parents, and the meeting was over by the time I got home. The people that attended enjoyed themselves. Sounds like you have just about everything ironed out in the home workspace then. You had amazing foresight dropping some loot on a nice chair.
@ThanosReXXX - Yeah, let’s hope it’s only that long. People in different places will probably have quite different experiences depending on how they prepared and responded.
@bimmy-lee Meanwhile, I've been on my fourth unsuccessful toilet paper run this week. By now, I definitely wish a serious case of constipation upon all those hoarders, who feel that they should buy up all the toilet paper that they can get their hands on, regardless of countless government officials telling people NOT to hoard, or to stop hoarding if they're already doing it. F-ing morons...

@Anti-Matter Because they're egotistical idiots, who think that the world is all about them, instead of about taking your fellow human being into account...

@ThanosReXXX
I mean, for what using they bought so many toilet papers ?
If for wiping the butt after release the poo, i think we can wash it with little shower for toilet instead.
@Anti-Matter They probably think that the entire world is going into lock down, and as such, won't be able to buy supplies anymore, so they start to hoard. I don't know about the rest of the world, but over here, they also hoard rice, pasta, canned foods and so on. A lot of empty shelves in the super market...

@ThanosReXXX Here people just bought lots of pasta and some TP. But even still we go to the stores and there is plenty supplies left. The only thing that is almost impossible to find are masks and some medication. Everything else is just as it was before the epidemic.
How can people think that they will be on lockdown like in a bunker for months or years. I mean come on!
When we have a snow storm in the US, and we might be snowed in for a few days, grocery stores struggle to keep up with the rush of people buying things to get them through those few days. The virus outbreak and self quarantine will last weeks or months, and grocery store supply systems can't keep up with that demand.
That, and there are always LOTS of people who act very selfishly.
Well, the governor has spoken. There's now a state wide stay-at-home order that officially goes into effect at 5 PM tomorrow. All non-essential businesses will be closed and gatherings of more than ten people will be denied. There will be way more daycare limits. It won't affect my slightly altered reality much more, but I'm sure this is a blow to many. I'm sure more people will panic and raid the stores here again, even though they're considered essential. I spoke with my mom earlier since I know she did some shopping for both my immediate family and my shut-in grandmother, and she confirmed that everywhere is nuts.
Mr. Burns (from bathroom): Smithers! Release the huuuurgh hounds! 😂
@ThanosReXXX Nah, you're fine. With the newest order from El Governor in my state, I kinda doubt there will be any services anyway. We'll see!
I wish you luck on your next TP run. I was already decently stocked before this mess and should still have enough for about a month yet. Then I'll need to rig up my cart, jousting umbrella, and trashcan shield on my next Walmart trip.
@bimmy-lee Zoom has been a more optimal way for us to meet with, though a couple of people have still just been calling in. It's kind of neat seeing almost everyone else in very casual wear. Our company's dress code is pretty casual as they allow jeans, but they encourage anything a step above t-shirts. Sometimes more than that for the people who aren't holed up like us and visit with customers and execs.
Thanks! I do like my new chair; it's definitely more bearable to use in the long term. The gaming keyboard and extra monitor saved me from having to haul home their counterparts from my desk at work. XD No issues with any of them so far.
