@Zuljaras Well, yes and no. Sometimes he refuses to understand/listen, and sometimes he REALLY doesn't understand. However, the line between the two is VERY thin, so depending on my mood/mental state, it's pretty frustrating in communication sometimes.
@bimmy-lee Haha, trust me, my friend: he owns VERY little, if any, "real estate in my head space". When I'm not on here, I really couldn't care less about his sometimes pretty odd ramblings, so I'm definitely not obsessed with him. The thing is that when I actually AM on here, which is to let off steam and enjoy myself and relax a bit after a hard day's work, I just get a bit tired when something I said with good intentions in mind is not understood (initially) and gets a reaction that sometimes completely baffles me, which then requires me to reiterate and or elaborate upon it, for it to finally sink in, when I'm already using the most basic of English words or trying to be as clear as I can be, so that gets pretty tiresome and annoying sometimes. It's one of the downsides of being highly empathic. It isn't all unicorns and rainbows, you know...
On a side note: but yes, in some ways he definitely IS annoying. Probably not intentional, but his self-proclaimed "quirkiness", aka single-minded tunnel vision, and his unwillingness to accept/respect other people's choices can be a major pain in the you-know-what sometimes.
But regardless, I'm not going to use an ignore button for that. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this to you specifically before, but in general I have mentioned that personally, I see me having to use such a feature as the epitomy of defeatism. It feels like me having to bend the knee/having to punish myself/putting measures upon myself for something stupid, idiotic or offensive that somebody else has done or said.
It gives me no peace of mind whatsoever to have to interrupt MY routine (in fact, the exact opposite), my way of moving around this site and having to actively remove people, also making the flow of certain comments sections rather weird in the process, because of the missing comments, so I don't really feel any incentive to do that.
@ThanosReXXX I'm assuming you've heard that toilet paper has been sold out everywhere in the US with COVID 19 & self isolating. It's obnoxious. I didn't know if you knew that was the premise behind my Animal Crossing + TP comment If you knew, you can disregard this comment. But yeah, people went nuts buying up TP here in Crazy States of America.
@NintendoByNature - Not gonna lie, it looks like it feels good. I see nothing wrong with it. Just explain to the fam that it’s the poop rug now, and maybe tape off individual lanes for everyone so it’s not gross.
@Anti-Matter - No, bacteria and viruses are different organisms, and they’re treated with different medicine if they make you sick. I think all viruses make you sick in some way, but not all bacteria, though some bacteria can make you deathly sick. Bacteria is a necessary part of lots of natural functions, but viruses are all villains.
@ThanosReXXX - I knew you’d have a reasonable response to that, and I respect you, so I’ll say that a lot of those replies to Anti seem overly condescending, so I’m not surprised if he tunes it out a bit and doesn’t respond in a way you see fit. I too come here for the light hearted banter, which is also more the point than Anti himself. It bums me out to give up and thumb past what appears to be yet another condescending screed that goes against the general grain of the Chit Chat thread. Especially when it comes from you because, as I said, I do respect you.
It’s not like you’re some clown who just pops in for a random drive by on him. You guys both post here regularly. I understand that you’re frustrated, it’s always clear, but I guess I don’t understand why you’re frustrated when you can simply scroll right past whatever you choose.
@Woomy_NNYes to survive you need to do what you need to do. If it means grass @$$ if means grass @$$. I can rough it, but my family not so much. They don't realize they're all about to eat corned beef and spam for the next 3 week's and nothing else 😜. Maybe pork n beans if I feel like throwing a curve ball at them.

@Woomy_NNYes I honestly didn't know that there was any connection between Animal Crossing and there being a run on toilet paper, so I guess I'll have to read up on that. But yes, I'm very much aware of the idiocy surrounding the hoarding of toilet paper, since it has also happened over here, even in my local super market.
@bimmy-lee Well, in this particular case, I'd say it's both logical and obvious, because it was how he reacted to something that I said to him. If you were really noticing of late, I hardly ever react to his standalone posts anymore, such as all of his endless DDR posts and his self-portraits, both of which I'm not really partial to either, especially since I don't understand the need for people to post photographs of themselves, but in all honesty, that particular annoyance might also stem from me having more than my fill of the self-absorbed selfie culture, so I guess that in some ways, it reminds me of that.
And people who know me, as you should at least a little by now, know that I'm never intentionally condescending. If it weren't you, I'd say that this is more the interpretation of the people reading my comments, which of course I can't prevent, but it's definitely not what I'm trying to convey.
I'm the literal WYSIWYG guy, so I always say what I mean, and I mean what I say. You'll KNOW when I'm really annoyed, angry or upset, because I definitely won't be mincing words in such cases, barring statements that aren't allowed on here, obviously needless to say.
I don't know if you've read my comment to him in that arcade thread, but if you haven't, then here it is. Now that you shared your point of view with me, I've actually re-read it myself, and besides my somewhat blunt usage of language, I can't for the life of me see something condescending in it. And then THIS is what I get as a reply, as a thank you for my good intentions. No wonder I was taken aback/annoyed...
The only comment of mine that comes to mind that would fit that description to an extent, would be my reaction to him asking if European e-mails can really spread the Corona virus. But I mean, come on. No one can really be THAT dense, so I just HAD to say something, because it completely stunned me that anyone could even seriously consider that. But it was also just meant as a joke, so it was never more than a tongue in cheek comment. If people make more out of that than it really is, well... no offense, but that's not my fault or responsibility.

@NintendoByNature - I can do $350 a roll, but you gotta buy a pallet of it at that price. And it’s a mixed pallet. And some of the tape isn’t sticky anymore, but only because I have so much tape, I have to store some outside. You’re actually doing me a huge favor, but don’t tell anyone else.
@ThanosReXXX - Well, I don’t know who the “people” are, I can only speak for myself. I haven’t seen either comment in the arcade thread, and I’m only talking about what goes on here because that’s all I really care about. From my perspective, you appear both exasperated and condescending with him so I always wonder why you so often try to “set him straight” and don’t just ignore his comments (not with a button, but with your eyes). I’d take a guess that most people who come here to chat either think his random stuff is funny, or can sensibly ignore it without commenting if they don’t.
I learned today that since my team operates a bit differently from most of the company, we can still come in but do have the option to work from home if we want. I'll still be reporting into work as my setup there is more suitable for long-term use and isn't as hard on my back and wrists. None of us sit very close together and have been practicing social distancing at meetings (that's been interesting).
Today's Adulting Moment: I arrived home and found a very official-looking letter among my mail. I seem to have won the jury duty summons lottery for the entire month of May. I am SO thrilled and REALLY hope that my group and call number come up.
@HobbitGamer, @kkslider5552000 The TP shortage has happened here too. I live near a town just under the 15k range, but a lot of smaller communities are nearby and many busy roads pass within range. I'm set for awhile; I stocked up about a month ago before all this madness started.
@bimmy-lee Midna is still my favorite partner in the whole series, but Ezlo is a semi-close second. Tatl is third. But yep, nearly all of them are pretty decent IMO. The only one that I found to be a bit meh is Ciela from Phantom Hourglass.
Definitely also living in a world where terrified people were so afraid of a TP crisis that they went ahead and just created one out of thin air to just get it started. I think I know who did it in my city too. I’m gettin me some of that TP if it’s the last thing I doooo!
@Tyranexx - I got a card that I’m considered for duty a few weeks ago. I also had the thought that jury duty right now is the only way to make jury duty worse. Unless it was jury duty, right now, at the license branch. That’s probably the worst thing possible right now.
I think I’ve admitted this before, but just in case, my last portable since 2/3rds of the Switch was a Game Boy. I originally missed all the portable Zelda experiences, and I’ve only caught up with the titles that made it to WiiU VC. It makes me a bad Zelda fan I know. Truth be told, I didn’t become a Zelda nut until OOT gave us three dimensional Zelda for the first time. A lot of the logic of the 2D Zelda titles alludes me to this day, but I’m right at home with a third dimension and it all makes sense.
@NintendoByNature - I’ve had an epiphany. Free tape for everyone. What am I gonna do with all this tape? One man shouldn’t have this much tape. I don’t even need it, It doesn’t make sense. I’ve already taped lanes for us on all the carpet and rugs. I don’t need it anymore. Everyone, come get some tape. Make lanes on your carpet. We must remain civilized.
Man, almost wish it was Smash night tonight. It was a good laugh last week, and it sounds nice right about now. My how things have changed in just a week. Already looking forward to it.
