@DannyBoi
Thus, you have to look at battery indicator before downloading.

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

NotTelevision

@DannyBoi You can definitely pause a download on the Switch. I do it all the time.

If your Switch ran out of battery during it a download it wouldn’t cancel it. Once it has battery again, it just continues where it left off.

@Tyranexx I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you if the fire brigade over here has hours of the night when they don't put on the sirens, but if the roads are quiet, I suppose lights may suffice. It's not like I'm actively noticing, seeing as I'm already used to it after having lived in this particular street for over 12 years, and I usually just half-awaken, and then roll over and go back to sleep...

Good point about the clearer skies. Must be the lack of smog...
Although on a good, cold night, I can also have clear skies above my balcony, so I do actually do some star (or moon) gazing every now and then.

@bimmy-lee Ah, I see. I already kinda figured it would be something like that, and you already mentioned that the parts to be glued would mostly be hidden, so then I guess it might be a good solution. And like I said: if it suits your purposes...

It's not my stuff anyways, so I'm just coming up with ideas in general, throwing some on the wall, to see which ones will stick or not.

@Eel Notebooks made with dental floss. Hm, you learn something new every day...
Sure makes them kind of multi-purpose, doesn't it?

@NintendoByNature Haha, congrats. And enjoy. Be sure to let me know your first impressions once you've play-tested it.

@NintendoByNature Let me know how the Sonic movie goes! I wanna see it mainly because I think Jim Carrey will make an awesome Robotnik.

Kudos on scoring MadWorld. I look forward to seeing impressions on that.

@bimmy-lee The view of the night sky is something I take for granted until I actually get away from it in my travels. While I like traveling, all that light in an urban metropolis definitely tends to absorb all the stars; only the brightest ones show up, and sometimes not even that depending on the sky itself and where you are.

I wouldn't say I'm an insane space nut, but I can point out a few constellations and enjoy watching meteor showers whenever they don't occur in the nosebleed hours of the morning. XD

@NotTelevision I think the main thing with that GS employee was that I essentially went through the store's whole refurb DS stock (I was there for about an hour). I was in the market for a new DS Lite, but at that point they were no longer available new. I brought the original New Super Mario Bros. and my brother's copy of Sonic Advance 3 to put those units through their paces. ...This'll be easier to explain from the beginning. I'll try to compress the explanation.

I started out with a used unit that I tried to get used to but just couldn't stand because the previous owner had been or lived with a heavy smoker (I have nothing personal against tobacco users, but I REALLY can't stand the smell; smell figures into my anxiety). Then I went with my first refurb, but the screw near the DS cart slot jutted out a bit and scratched a few cartridges, plus I learned there was also a sort of wax-y substance in the GBA slot. That unit was returned, and then I went through the whole refurb stock; one would have a lower touch screen that wouldn't accept touch input, one of the slots wouldn't read, a button wouldn't work, input lag, etc. I tried to be pleasant the whole time as I was putting the systems through the wringer. I finally settled on another used DS Lite that I still have; it's not perfect and is the metallic rose color, but it was at least well cared for.

I try to avoid picking up a lot of timesink games these days, but I make exceptions for games that are widely lauded (e.g. Skyrim or the aforementioned Octopath) or if they fall into a franchise I really like (Breath of the Wild). I'm trying to get some of the shorter games out of the way right now while I slowly chip away at Dragon Quest VIII.

@ThanosReXXX I've gotten used to the traffic noise at my current place, but I still habitually run a fan at night for some white noise. This wasn't something I did before moving to where I'm currently at, but it has definitely helped me sleep.

The clearer skies are at least partially due to the lack of smog I'd think, but a big factor (at least here) are the lights. It's almost like the street lamps are holding a long-distance competition with the stars. Though if they were close together, the stars would definitely win. XD

@bimmy-lee now that just made me imagine my mom having her own {journal of bad things} with detailed drawings and ominous notes. Perfect to leave in the basement of the creepy cabin we have in the woods.

I wish we had a creepy cabin in the woods

@ThanosReXXX the girl that makes the videos always uses waxed craft thread, but apparently dental floss is the easiest replacement material.

@gcunit - It’s not a great sensation. You can pump away, but nothing is going to come out after a certain point in time, or what does come out wasn’t even worth all the excess pumping it took to get there. The caulk that is.

@ThanosReXXX - Yeah, I was talking about a ridiculously specific application that probably still doesn’t make total sense. It would if I could just show you in person. I appreciate the help at any rate, and even if I can’t use it for that specific purpose, I’m still glad to be with glue gun. My life feels slightly more complete.

@NintendoByNature - Brutal, I feel bad for you in the dad department being sick on recital day. Hopefully you can rest up a little beforehand and let it rip right through you. Good luck dude, hope you feel better.

@Tyranexx - Yep, when you get out away from urban areas here in the flatlands, the sky gets so big and starry that it starts to feel like it’s wrapping around you. I can still get starry nights from time to time, but more often than not; it’s just an orangish glow.

@Eel - I think you’re on to a great movie premise. An otherwise loving mom has a dark secret: it’s her Journal of Inappropriate Things. When she buries the journal in the basement of her remote, creepy cabin in the woods that she inherited from a great uncle she never knew, her dark thoughts begin to play out in REAL LIFE!

@NintendoByNature I'll be looking forward to it.

@Tyranexx Yeah, absolutely true, city lights are definitely also a factor. Kinda dumb that I forgot that, to be honest. Although over here, in the city itself, lights are pretty demure. Mostly yellow light lanterns, and in the streets we have steel cables spanned between buildings that also have yellow lanterns, and on the canals, they're now replacing the old lantern lights with LED rings, and they're spaced reasonably far apart, so that there's enough light to see, but not so much that it lights up the entire area.

@Eel Well, at least it'll smell fresh. What flavor did you use?

@bimmy-lee Hey, every man needs to have some kind of glue stored away for whatever purpose, that's just one of the facts of life. I always have multi-purpose kit in the house, as well as some instant-glue, for smaller things. Also got a silicone gun, for the bathroom and kitchen area.

P.S.

You could always post pictures...

@NotTelevision either the clock has to be forcibly/artificially rolled back on automation, or we need an active purge of 2/3 of Earth's population. One or the other. There's no status quo on this one. The only alternative is a dystopia previously only envisioned in scifi. The purge would be much more pleasant.

@thanosrexxx same with you. Once I get my mitts on it, ill give you my impressions
@bimmy-Lee thanks. It comes in waves. Was good for the recital, but now it's hitting me like a ton of bricks.

@ThanosReXXX - Yeah, I have a nice little collection of different glues and tapes. You just never know what you might need. My strongest “guy” collection is the 20+ gallon buckets of paint I have stored, all of them in various stages from unopened to almost empty. I even have a five gallon bucket of flat white ceiling paint, multiple primers, and two boxes of spray paint cans. It’s really a sight to behold.

@Eel - Haha, that’s brilliant. To get into that million dollar idea stratosphere, we need to ensnare the kiddos in our demographic, they’re cash cows, so let’s also make it a learn to read movie/series/franchise.

I have 3 unopened Amiibo boxes (Kicks, Rover and Isabelle) and now i have 2 Isabelle Amiibo after i bought Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival Wii U game bundle. 😅

Btw, it wasn't bad at all to play Amiibo Festival by Solo play (i played alone) but i took control for All players since i have some Amiibo, so whoever win will quickly unlock the Happy Points. 😏

Silly Anti-Matter, playing with himself again...

@NintendoByNature You better get well first. We'll be patiently waiting for that first impression, since none of us are going anywhere anyways. But it's weekend, so let's enjoy that first, before it's gone again...

@bimmy-lee That's quite the collection. You must have a garage or storage area to put all that and your other tools. I don't have that in my apartment. Just got the aforementioned (mini-)collection of glue, a bucket of plaster and a toolbox, and that's about it. Whenever I'm in need of other things, like power tools or whatever, there's always someone in my family or circle of friends that can help me out, so there's really no need to store anything myself, so the bare necessities will suffice.

I spent nearly all of my afternoon driving to/from/attending a baby shower for a cousin about an hour away. I volunteered to drive since it was a shorter distance from my house compared to the rest of my caravan, plus I knew the way for the most part; I also hauled my grandma, sister, and mom. The baby shower itself was good - the food and ESPECIALLY the cupcakes were all heavenly - but I only go to the things out of love. Trust me guys, you're really not missing much. Same goes for bridal showers. To the credit of this one, there were plenty of younger kids to make faces/smile/interact with, plus they didn't do a lot of the overdone games at this one. The most painful part was the introduction that you have to sit through.

@bimmy-lee It's like a nice, big, cozy, starry blanket. That idea kind of reminds me of how Timon describes the sky in The Lion King. Though Pumbaa was more on point with his thinking. XD As a kid, I wondered how the sky didn't just swallow us whole; in a sense, it kinda does.

@ThanosReXXX That'd be a sight I'd like to see. Some of the older city districts I've been to over here (not many, but a few) have more demure lighting as well; it's mostly the bustling modern centers that try to burn your retinas into oblivion.

@NintendoByNature Thanks! Though I think you meant MadWorld up there; I admittedly have very little interest in an Apple store knockoff.

Hope you get to feeling better. I think I'm finally about over the sinus crap I was dealing with.
