Speaking of playing games, I've been playing a classic one on my PC called Wing Commander 3. So far I like it, did get stuck at one point since the game kept sending me to the Proxima system, which means bad ending. Though I did overcome it today and wound up in the correct next part of the game, so that's cool. Anyone else who play games on PC tried this series?
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy wing Commander is classic! I miss the era of space fighter simcades. Wing Commander, freespace, Independence war, freelancer.... Great genre that's gone but. Also eff EA for killing Westwood and wing Commander!
@RR529 that's insanely awesome. And amazing they'd ship things... Signature required.. At cost... For free plays. And it's not even a scam. #onlyjapan.
@ThanosReXXX Ah, my apologies. I was a bit confused by your previous post. I legit thought you were being subtly ornery there. Too much time around my own family, it seems. XD (I blame mom's side)
I've peeked into that thread long enough to know that I have no interest in the subject matter there. I ignored that review entirely (knew nothing about the game anyway before that point) and wouldn't be able to contribute anything of value.
@HobbitGamer Not sure what you mean by OG there either. I just know I've read enough of it to realize that I'm way out of my interest league there. XD I pretty much concurred with what I found under @StableInvadeel's spoiler tag at one point in there - that I'm not interested.
Edit: @RR529 I've never heard of any apps like that before, but they sound awesome!
@NEStalgia It's a genre I never had a chance to experience. So far, I'm playing this one and the turn-based Wing Commander Armada. I do remember trying a demo once to Freelancer a long time ago when I got my first gaming PC years ago. Haven't played Freespace, I'm guessing it's part of the Descent series, I believe it's the same developers IIRC.
@Tyranexx Is it bad that I thought of this version when the Sonic movie trailer was revealed? Or better yet, my classmates calling it Oddish Paradise when Pokemon first started getting big?
@NEStalgia, actually Toreba ships for free as well. You get 5 free plays for signing up, and after that if you put $10 in even just once (actually just a bit less than that since the $ is stronger than the ¥) you get daily free plays indefinitely. It's usually just 1 or 2 a day (but depending on what promotions they have going on I've gotten up to 4 one day), so you're not likely to regularly win on free plays, but it is definitely possible (I'm sure they get their money's worth though, as once I was stuck behind someone who I'm sure spent no less than $100 trying, and failing, to get a figure, based on the amount of times they played).
Other Japanese based apps (from what I've tried so far) are smaller than Toreba, so they're either much more stingey on the free plays though still offer free shipping if you do win something, or give out regular free plays but charge for shipping (I don't really bother with the latter).
Then you have the Chinese/Southeast Asia based apps that always offer knockoff prizes AND usually try to nickel & dime you. There's one called Clawee that wants you to put money in every other day in order to continue getting free credit, and requires you to pay for a "VIP" status to earn free shipping and play for anything bigger than a keychain (which again, are all knockoffs), so I said eff that, lol.
Still, I've heard that there are a few Chinese apps that offer a fair amount of free credit (and free shipping), and are apparently okay if you're fine with bootleg Mario's & the like as prizes.

@Tyranexx No apologies needed, I wasn't offended in any way, just thought I'd elaborate.
As for the infamous article: I haven't commented on there either, but when someone made a forum topic about it, I did want to add my two cents, and not so much about the game itself, but about the (apparent) general consensus surrounding these types of games.
By the way: that forum topic isn't nearly as much of a dumpster fire as the article's comment section is, but it is a bit weird, because of the game in question.
Mostly it just comes down to whether or not we should be aware and/or against certain stuff in games, such as sex and violence, and if it's representative of real life or could influence real life, so in and of itself actually an interesting topic.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@BruceCM Anti is part of the furniture here, but you shouldn't take most of what he says too seriously, seeing as he magically turns everything into weird, childish chibi things. From that list he made, it's clear that he has no idea about actual gangster life. If a real gangster would be caught by their ring leader, doing stuff like that, he'd probably fire or kill them. Or maybe they'd even shoot themselves out of pure shame...

I wasn't being very serious originally, either, @ThanosReXXX ... As for your 'infamous' article & forum, I'm happily ignorant about them, unless you want to tell me?
I just put my friend on blast in an agency-wide email. “If you encounter xxx today, please wish her a happy birthday and remind her about her trip to Koholint tomorrow!”

@Anti-Matter - Numbers one through six were an episode of Loony Tunes, and then from seven on, you suddenly switched to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It’s a good list though, I’d join your gang. You had me at Hello Kitty tattoo.
@Tyranexx - May I recommend the review of the Pixie game if for nothing more than a good laugh? The review was kind of written for people who aren’t interested in naked pixies.
@NintendoByNature - Hey, I saw you’re getting LOZ:LA, but you have to wait a week to play it. Are you going out of town or finishing something else up first? Can’t imagine you holding off on a LOZ game.
@bimmy-lee dude, the struggle is real. It's actually arriving tomorrow( dreamer edition which I never buy so this is a first special edition for me) but it's also my bday gift from the fam. Next Saturday is my bday so yea...gotta wait..do me a favor and hold off on your early impressions until the 28th will ya? 😂
