@hobbitgamer@redderrugfish@StableInvadeel would any one wana take a run at some brawl bros. I played the game for like 2 min but I imagine itll be fun playing with someone. I was a big streets of rage fan in my youth so this seems alot like it. I'll hop on tonight around 9 or so. Just let me know.
I'm surprised so many people are getting bent out of shape over that translation change. It's so insignificant and thus doesn't bother me. Plus, if it's closer to the Japanese translation, I don't see how people can cry about censorship.
As for switching out the male protagonist's voice, it doesn't matter what I think. It's ultimately Nintendo's decision on what happens there. If they want to switch it out to avoid controversy, that's their call. Besides, I'll be playing (and always was planning to) as the female protagonist in FE3H anyway.
@HobbitGamer Yep, that would've been an interesting exchange to see! I think adding some Hobbit flavoring there made it more entertaining. XD I probably shouldn't explain what context I read OP's words in....
I'll probably get DXM at some point, but it's something I'm content to wait on. I'd kinda like a Switch first. (Probably near the holidays at this point)
@NintendoByNature I've heard of Statesville but haven't been. I've been to a couple of downstate ones besides our haunt. The problem with down here is that they're spread out more. I need to head up more towards your way (kinda) sometime and do the Bartonville Insane Asylum/Haunted Infirmary. That one is supposed to be pretty good.
@bimmy-lee Ooooh yes, and some of the reactions are amazingly worth it! The best groups are the screamers and the weenie guys who use their girlfriends as meat shields. How manly.... My character may change a little, but let's say I'm... institutionalized.
I think you should introduce your kids to Untitled Goose Game. Not sure if that'll help or hinder that phobia. XD
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
@HobbitGamer ok no problem. @StableInvadeel it's on the snes app if you have it. @Tyranexx I don't think I have the joycons to hit Statesville. I hear it's pretty hardcore. And if you're claustrophobic it's a no no which I have a severe case of it.
@NintendoByNature I see....I don't do well in very tight spaces either, at least when there are other bodies. Might have to give that one a pass then. XD I can take pretty much any scare, but compressed personal space is another thing entirely.
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
@BruceCM FTL never will. But wormholes are entirely possible in physics as it is currently understood. Though any sort of artificial wormholes are probably far beyond human capacity.

I think i will dust away my LABO 01 Variety kits after long hiatus for almost 1 year. 😅
I have to think how to customize my LABO 01 to be played in handheld / Tabletop mode without carrying the cardboards in public. 🤔
@Ryu_Niiyama - Okay fine, I made a foil hat. I’m in that army now. They can take our lives, but they’ll never censor our video gaaaaaaaaaaamesss!
@HobbitGamer - Sorry to disappoint! That mention of FOS was in regard to a different type of apocalypse, not the nuclear kind.
@Tyranexx - My only hope in life right now is that this goose fear/obsession lasts long enough to make it to Goose Game launch. I’m doing my best to keep it alive. I was getting it anyway, but this development makes it a must own. It’ll be a fear simulator in my house.
Classic horror character you get to play them. I saw a great version of that at a haunted house one time. Straight jacket, padded room, strobe light, blood spatter. It was great. Like getting a glimpse of my future. Very haunting. What a fun side job. There’s something just terrifying about knowing someone is going to scare the crap out of you in the very near future, but you have no idea when it’s coming.
@Wavey84 I haven't ever taken a break from gaming altogether as it's my main hobby since earliest childhood and probably the only passion I have in life (started gaming when I was two years old), but I did take an involuntary break from Nintendo gaming where I missed out on everything which came out between Nintendo 64/GBC and late Wii U/mid 3DS era. I still replayed old Nintendo and PC games, especially N64 in multiplayer, but basically fell out of touch otherwise. Never been into modern PC gaming and have zero interest in PS and Xbox. Now that I'm an Adult™ and got my own money I'm trying hard to catch up but GC and DS games in particular are a pain to get, especially if you don't do digital.
As for consoles GC never managed to catch on for me at all - neither its games save for Paper Mario TTYD nor the controllers - whereas I adore my Wii U which holds several of my franchise favourites.
My backlog is huge. I've been working on it this year and am making good progress, but... it's huge.
Currently playing: ACNL, Pokémon Pearl, Pokémon Art Academy, Minecraft, Mario Tennis Aces
Sidegames: Super Kirby Clash, Overcooked 2, Kirby's Dream Land 3
Looking forward to: Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokémon Swish
Hyped for: ACNH
Not heard of any progress with making wormholes actually viable ways to travel, @Heavyarms55 Let alone making them ourselves ..... It's possible there will be, just seems unlikely Now
@HobbitGamer Yeah, I suppose it was funny, to other readers at least. I can probably laugh about it now to some extent, but when I was right in the middle of it, I was rather confused, and walking on egg shells trying to explain myself, so that wasn't funny at all. Even made me stay away for the rest of the day. And then yesterday, he tagged me in another thread to once again tell people all about how bad I treated him.
It makes for a really sad, pathetic person, if you can't even see and admit/own up to your own mistakes and instead lash out at others and in the process ruining their rather positive mood...
@bimmy-lee I don't know why I'm so mean. Must be my inner-Thanos...
@Tyranexx My good name was being slandered by some idiot who himself posted a Switch related comment in the wrong article thread, and then across several comments blamed me for bothering and accusing him of lying. And thanks to @HobbitGamer, I've now come to understand that instead of at least showing some decency towards me, he simply chose to silently edit his comments and pretend it never happened, which makes it extra sad, because that shows he KNOWS he was wrong, but he's not a big enough person to own up to it.
You can probably imagine me being completely confused/befuddled, when he simply stated: "but you can't play it on TV you guys", underneath the Evercade article, which had a video that clearly showed that you actually could display it on the TV, so I simply asked him: "no offense, but how did you get that idea?" and from there on out, the rather mystifying discussion continued, right up to the point that he blamed me for calling him a liar...
I swear, sometimes, I really feel like doing a @bimmy-lee and just take a REALLY long leave from the internet. Not being able to physically correct or overpower people when I'm in my full right to do so, is really doing my head in at times. Once you're in a discussion online, and things turn negative, for whatever reason, it seems that even the slightest modicum of decency and manners goes out the window...
I see now what he edited out, @HobbitGamer. I thought you meant in the Evercade thread.
Very cowardly, but I guess that's what you can expect at least half of the time, when dealing with such individuals, sadly enough.
@ThanosReXXX - Oh man, you didn’t do a thing wrong other than unknowingly engage with a “don’t make eye contact” person. I don’t think anybody took them seriously when saying you’re mean. It’s like someone yelling at the air in a subway/train station. I noticed them back when the SwitchLite was revealed, and they’ve been in a downward spiral ever since because... it doesn’t plug into the tv. Yeah.
Taking a break from the social side of the Internet was really nice, but it was one item on a list I tallied of things in my life that we’re bringing me frustration. I felt generally frustrated, and wanted to reduce that feeling. Two of the biggest reliefs turned out to be retiring from fantasy football and wagering after 15 straight seasons in the trenches. Neither were fun anymore, but I was still doing it out of habit. I’ve enjoyed NFL Sundays so much more, and I have more free time during the week not being forced to research and listen to podcasts. I totally understand your frustration with the differences between online and real life social interactions.
@bimmy-lee Well, I'm over most of the befuddlement and frustration now, but a tiny bit of anger and disappointment at it all remains, and probably will for some time to come...
@StableInvadeel Ah, so he didn't even "correct" that himself. Now I'm even more sad. Not looking for an apology or anything, but even the tiniest bit of an acknowledgment about him being wrong, coming from his direction would have been nice...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
I'd recommend you to just forget about it. Be the smart one and move on, it's not worth spending brain-resources on it.
I myself am mostly just amused at how a single senseless comment managed to derail an entire comments section after I removed it, while it was the only comment there.
