@StableInvadeel I wasn't referring to online functions, I was making a subtle nod at trading with myself by using two systems and a link cable. There were proper trades with others, but it became easier once my bro received a GBC.

I did a search @Ninfan and couldn't find one. But then again Nintendolifes' search engine is no google search. So if you want one the ball is in your court.
Uhh so Theres this neighbor that lives next door who's an "Ok guy" I guess. Hes Kind of strange but no big deal. He feeds all the animals, stray and all, so we always have these wild animals coming into our yard. Coons, oppossums, foxes etc. Sucks because we have a dog we can rarely let out just in case there's some wild animal that may attack him. Anyway the main animals he feeds are cats. Theyve gone to the bathroom in my yard and all sorts of stuff. I like animals and all but it's kind of annoying I end up cleaning up messes.
Fast forward to earlier this week. I saw a smaller black cat walking around my house a couple times. Assumed it was one of his. Just a couple hours ago, I look out my front window and I see 4 maybe 5 (hard to tell) small baby kittens. A little larger than my hand but have their furr already. I walked over to his house and both his daughter and he, looked really inconvenienced when i asked if one of their cats had kittens. He seemed p!$$ed off that i was asking and I wasn't even done talking and he opened the door and walked back in, shutting it on me.
One of those moments where you feel kind of stupid but you shouldn't because you didn't do anything stupid. Really got under my skin since this dude is the cat whisperer with like 4 walking around his yard all the time. Some don't even live in his house.
So i call animal control and they say I have to box the kittens up and the mom. I'm like.... wait what? So the hard part, I need to Do? I wish i had that job where I stroll in when the jobs done. No offense to anyway who is in this line of work. Point Is. How am I suppose to track down 4 kittens and a mom cat who'll be protective? I'm not the turtle man.
Guess I'll call the humane society tomorrow when they open. I just worry these little guys will.get eaten by coons
@NintendoByNature The part of me that has always wanted a cat is like "I still want a cat!" but I live in a small studio apartment and even if I made room for a litter box and everything, it's not allowed. Also I'm not home for 8-10 hours a day and wouldn't be able to take care of the cat...
Back to your issue though, sounds like the neighbor doesn't know how to deal with people. And that animal control is overly worried about liability issues. If it were anything but a live animal, I'd say box it up and dump it on their lawn. But the cats didn't do anything wrong. Just kinda sucks that you are forced into dealing with them.

@NintendoByNature I had the same cat problem at my old house in Carolina. There was an old couple across the street that would feed cats and it got to the point that there were hardly any squirrels in my yard (had loads of oaks), and any bird smaller than a falcon just vanished. Animal control had me on a two month wait list to provide traps. But once I started, it took a few weeks to drop them all off at the shelter. I think it’s pretty irresponsible in a suburban environment, and it gives the cats (and dogs) a crap quality of life too. I mean, Jack is missing an eye, for pete’s Sake 😂
Also, I believe the correct term for strays is now Unpaired Companions 😜

@Heavyarms55 yea it's a bit annoying and I've thought about putting many of items on his lawn, not caused by animals .but in all seriousness, it was pretty rude the way he left it and just started walking away. for a car dude I would've thought he'd be all over having some more kittens. Especially cute little ones that are so small. Ah oh well, I guess he'll learn when my dog "accidentally does business in his yard. Just kidding .......or am i? Mwaha. Stay tuned lol.
@HobbitGamer yea it's kind of bad. There's way too many creatures lurking about because all the stuff he throws out .I usually take my dog out late at night too. Scares the crud out of you when something creeps up at midnight. How could I be so careless? To all the unpaired companions , my sincere apologies go out to you and you. ; )
@anti-matter how do you know they're male lol? I couldn't tell a male cat from a female
@NintendoByNature I'm assuming your neighbor's primary goal is to feed the cats? If so, it's hard to avoid feeding varmints like raccoons and possums too. They LOVE cat food. If he's deliberately feeding them though...not good. That's just expanding their reliance on humans, which is a nope.
How old are the kittens? If their eyes and ears are open, they're safe to handle and generally can't get around too well until they're roughly a month old. As for the mom....The best I can suggest is borrowing a live trap and luring her in there with food if she's a shy stray.

Edit: It's also pretty easy to tell a male cat from a female unless they've been spayed or neutered. Young kittens are harder to figure out sometimes though. (Unless we're talking about night fighting. Most of the time, yowling between two cats is indeed male vs. male, though females can be petty and get into scuffles too.)
@Tyranexx he's definitely trying to only feed cats but still it just attracts all sorts of stiff . Not his fault , but still an issue. The kittens can walk, eyes open, and even play with the siblings. I'm going to call it into the humane society tomorrow since animal control was a no go. If they turn me down, I have no choice but to look into trapping them. I have no equipment for it though which stinks. But oh well. And wow I didn't know you can really tell the difference male and female cats. Dogs , yes. I'll prob update you guys after work tomorrow with what happens
On the topic of cats, stray cats are pretty common in Japan. There are several that live near the local 7/11 store and in winter always sneak in after customers to warm up. I'm always tempted to feed them, but I'm a regular at the store and I'm sure the owner wont appreciate that. She already asked me to take them home once, but like I said, not allowed in my building.
Someday, if I get a bit bigger apartment and they allow it, I'll get one though. At least then I can talk to the cat instead of my posters and anime figures. lol

@NintendoByNature - I love all animals, but domesticated strays are a public nuisance, and feeding them only leads to trouble. AC&C is totally worthless in my town too. Box those kittens up, take them to the shelter, and give them a chance at a decent life. You could trade them in on a 35-55 pound terrier mix, and you won’t see an animal in your yard again.
I'd like a cat or two, but I don't want one indoors. Having one outside where I live, especially since they're usually excellent escape artists, would be a death sentence. I live next to a pretty busy road.
@NintendoByNature Ah good, definitely old enough to be handled/moved with few issues then. Though if they're very mobile, it could be fun to catch them. I'd definitely try to get professionals to do it if possible. Less time and headache on your part lol.
I'm surprised your kids aren't head over heels in love with them yet tbh, unless they haven't really seen them.

@bimmy-lee I felt bad about letting them be out there tonight but they found a little hole under my porch so that's where they're hiding. Boxing I will do tomorrow if need be. It's just in a tough spot to get them. I have a big Bush right where they come out so it's not like I can be like " oh hey yall! Come on down into my ol hand! " lol I'll prob have to get tricky with the whole thing. Plus the mom was hissing at me from the window while I was inside my house. so she doesn't seem too friendly and my dad was saying just stay away from them since they could have diseases. So he kind of talked me out of grabbing at them. It doesn't help I get nervous in situations like this (trying to round up kittens while watching for the mama.
@Ryu_Niiyama Yeah, I've heard their shows are legendary good.. their tour in Europe went down a storm (I missed it unfortunately) so to watch them live will be a bucket list tick 😆
No worries, add when you can.

@NintendoByNature Sounds a lot like what I'd do if I were still a kid. XD
Edit: As for the disease thing, you'd probably be fine after a good hand washing and by avoiding touching the usual illness-prone body components (mouth, eyes, etc.).
@bimmy-lee may not even need to be that large! Rocky is 11lbs and he chases everything away. Even likes to have a go at Jack, who is (18lbs and twice the size). Of course jack plays along, then turns the tables.
Animals are great.
