@ThanosReXXX lol, no private and work email are separate but private email between online shopping and personal communication is still an always available thing. I don't do social media.... All communication is email or forums. So email is always there. And it's a nice push notification when i get tagged so it shows up with my other emails and i can do the lazy @rjejr thing and not click any extra things and just hot the reply button in the email to get taken to the post that tagged me... No extraneous clicks to NL required! The emails are the cooler feature imo. Used other forms similar in the past.
For personal conversation... Well, you know i can't keep it short enough for texts
@SheldonRandoms we live in a time where blockbuster is a custom-made set piece for historical dramas.
To think this could've been me in the future.
It's for some upcoming series called ""I Know This Much is True" starring Mark Ruffalo. Now when the scene revs up on tv, i'll edit him to be green since he's the Hulk and stick a picture of myself somewhere on the TV to pretend I got casted and called.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
@subpopz Glad to see another sane person...
Not to mention that an always open email account is asking for trouble. I even remove all logins each time I've checked my mail. Got a password manager app in my browser (Firefox) that helps me remember and save them...
@NEStalgia Yeah.... no, just no. Features on a site are there for the users, hence them needing to be used.
I don't suffer from any kind of OCD, but seeing any large number popping up in the top right corner every time I'd visit NLife would make even my fingers itch...
@Anti-Matter See? It's a new day, you're still alive, and the world (and life) goes on. Stuff disappearing from our lives can be sad sometimes, but it shouldn't be controlling us. It's just things. Focus on materialism is bad, you know?
You'll find other things, other games to enjoy yourself with. Oh, and guess what I found:
None of them are really big or extensive Instagram pages, so with the number of photos you've already posted on here so far, you could make a better DDR page than any of these.
@rjejr That Kirby game that they posted footage from here was crap, though. Just a whole lot of empty world, with last gen graphics and pre-N64 water physics...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX "with last gen graphics and pre-N64 water physics..."
That was created in less than a week with a game engine nobody has used before. Most people would not be capable of making that in any game engine with any given amount of time. Most games, even small indie games, take a decent amount of time to create, even if they are using a standard game engine like Unity. And look how long some professional game developers took to advertise their games on Wii U, adn take money for them on Kickstarter, and then not release those games at all. Considering how quickly that Kirby piece came out, well if you aren't going to give them credit then you're going to have to make a better one.
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
@rjejr If that would mean that I would have to buy a PS4 first, well... you can figure out the answer to that one on your own, I guess.
Still, I've seen far more impressive things cobbled together in either Project Spark on Xbox, or in Little Big Planet, so that kinda makes you wonder if Dreams' assets are more, shall we say rudimentary, or if it is indeed a matter of skill. But then I have to point out the other two examples again, both of which produced impressive results from the moment people started tinkering with them.
@ThanosReXXX How is an always open email account dangerous? If you're using a thick client, the mailbox is stored locally on your machine either way, and you're relying on your local security/encryption for security, and if you're using webmail, you're relying on your browser and the server's encryption and security whether you're connecting once or continuously. From a security perspective there's little difference, unless you mean a direct-access attack if control of your computer is obtained by another, which goes back to the same issue: If it's a thick client the file system and login security is critical, and if it's a web client, login access to the machine is the critical security. Unless you're saying you don't have your PC lock after inactivity...in which case you have other security problems beyond email. Though if your using Vista, yeah, I wouldn't trust that login security and "Bit Defender" tripe either.
At least you're not on the Chrome bandwagon the kiddies on this site love so much....
As for the features....or - or - maybe they offer notifications as features via multiple ways so users can pick the method that works for them? 4413 notifications currently.......
@NEStalgia Well, simply put, it's a door, no matter how many locks you put on it, it's an extra gateway/option towards external parties being able to get access to your private data. Ever since I've taken a security course in my education, I try, no have succeeded in keeping all these things as separate and closed off as I can.
No one can prevent any and all attacks or hacking attempts, but like with home security, all you basically have to do is a little more effort than the next door neighbor, in order for the burglars to decide that your home is just going to take too much time to break into...
Oh, and I have a custom version of Vista. Don't use any of that standard crap. I choose my own weapons...
"4413 notifications currently"
Oh, man. That would REALLY annoy the hell out of me.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX Every office expects every computer to be running email every minute of every day. I've not yet encountered any instance that is not true. And most emails are expected to be replied to within minutes and "minutes" is an outside extreme. Seconds are the norm.
For home, I mean it's communication central, but personally and for emails and notifications from Amazon, postal, etc, etc. I don't disagree with you at large in security, but email is the core of pretty much everything. No, work email and home email don't mix, generally, but I'm going to be checking emails frequently at home, not for work, but for product tracking, personal email, billing, annoing %*($#@ "2FA" schemes etc. NL I'm only going to check if I'm posting, or checking for something (but my email already would have told me there's a tag...) Even in the most secure environments I've dealt with, pretty much every desk has email permanently open because it's simply necessary. Basically, why have the computer at all if email's not open?
LOL....More OCD than you admit? I must be more American than you. If a big number is good, a bigger number is better!
@NEStalgia Obviously, I was talking about a home situation. In the office, logging out of email accounts does not apply, and more importantly, FAR more strict and professional security measures are in place than in the average home situation.
And I'm not OCD, I just don't like useless things. If a button is there in place for me, I'd rather use it, than let it sit idle, and rack up to an insurmountable number, which just seems really weird to me. I'm pretty sure most users on here use that notification button.
Oh, and bigger is better hasn't been cool anymore since the late nineties, regardless of whether or not a certain idiot wants to make everything great again...
Taking my lunch to go pick up and install new IAC and TPS sensors on the truck. It’s the last ditch before resigning myself to buy a new PCM.
Saw that Starlink gets DLC next week. Between that and the VR updates for BotW and SMO, at least I can pretend vehicles don’t exist when I’m home 😂

@ThanosReXXX Well, at home, the computer is locked down and encrypted. And the phone is also locked and encrypted and always on my person. Not to mention, if they could get access to open email, they could also get access to your password manager, if you're worried about local attacks. And if the password manager locks down, why doesn't the PC lock down?
You've been away too long. Bigger is still better here, except for snobby little snowflakes that push weird Whole Foods ideologies from the back of their Priuses. And except for California as a whole which, to be fair, has run out of potable drinking water, and I'm pretty sure the masses have started eating each other.
@NEStalgia As I told you, I'm not the average Joe. I've got measures upon measures upon measures. Did you not notice me mentioning having followed an online safety course during my education? And I've kept that knowledge up to date ever since then. What I said earlier about even making it ever so slightly harder to break into your house (or computer) than with the people next door is both an ironclad truth, and a rule to live by. But a lot of people are either dumb, clueless or far too trusting, which is also why phishing and so on is still an active (and relatively easy to maintain) hobby for some of these shady individuals...
Although for most of us, who really don't possess any worthwhile information other than finance-related info for small time hackers, it's never going to be that hard to stay out of the sights of the real evil-doers anyway, since none, or almost none of us work for any government agency, which might lead to us forming a potential security leak for said agency, especially if we don't separate our work related mail from our private mail, when at home...
As for the other part: no, not really. I may not be living there anymore, but thanks to the instant spread of info and media, it's pretty easy to keep tabs. The bigger is better slogan has become its own joke, a farce that is mainly used by certain businesses (such as food-related establishments), but in general, even people in America are starting to become a bit more wise to the world...
And you don't even have to be a vegan or electric car driver to come to any sane conclusion either...
@ThanosReXXX Just because "bigger is better" is a meme doesn't mean it's not still the actual standard - because it is. Actually everything keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. (Except food portions and things where that would actually imply gaining value....that doesn't get bigger...)
@NEStalgia Food not getting bigger in America? You must be joking...
I've seen a special on a hamburger joint, I believe it was in Vegas, where the waitresses wear nurses costumes and where they serve up so-called "heart-attack burgers", with so many meat patties in them, that they probably need at least an entire calf to make them...
And you're on the inside, so you can't be neutral/objective in your views. I'm an American living in Europe:
I'm simply the best of both worlds.
