@ThanosReXXX it’s an old WoW meme. Group was getting ready for a raid and talking it out, then a member that was afk comes back from his kitchen, runs into the place, and everyone loses. But at least he got his chicken. Leroy Jenkins

@ThanosReXXX: I put Darksiders on hold for the time being; most of my TV console time this weekend has been eaten up by my SNES Classic. I've been playing through Donkey Kong for the fiftieth time, messed around with Super Mario Kart a little (I still find this a bit cheap at times), and tried out both Kirby's Dream Course and Super Ghouls & Ghosts briefly. Golf and golf-like games don't hold my attention long TBH, and while I recognize that Super Ghouls & Ghosts is a quality game, it's pretty unforgiving. I'm actually considering getting it on the VC where I can abuse save states properly.
@Morpheel: I've read that level 40 is a requirement too. If they keep that requirement, it'll be a bit before I can submit any. XD Some people have understandably been playing for years; I just started about six weeks ago and am on the downhill slide of level 22. Until about a year ago, I had a Windows phone.
@Tyranexx Better on VC? Four save states not enough for you, then?
What's the plus of VC compared to that, and how does it make you able to abuse save states?
And yes, Super Ghouls & Ghosts certainly is unforgiving. But although it has always been known for being one of the harder games, if you look at how gamers fare in other classic games, I sometimes do wonder if gamers have become soft nowadays. In my experience and opinion, back in the day, a lot of games were more difficult than now, and also contained a heck of a lot less pointers, let alone tutorials.
In some games nowadays, it's almost like going back to riding your bike with training wheels re-attached...

@ThanosReXXX: Namely because the only way to activate save states on the SNES Classic, from what I can tell, is to hit the reset button. In a game like that, the few seconds it takes for me to get to the system from my chair isn't cutting it. I'm used to having immediate access to that stuff.
I can tell it's a quality game overall, it's just EXTREMELY picky about how you can take hits.
"Oh yeah, you can stand on this hovering coffin!"
"Nope, the coffin opened by 1/2 a degree! The zombie doesn't touch you, but you take a hit anyway! LOL UR DEADZ!"
I legit gave it a fair shake for half an hour, but it was late at that point and I switched over to good DK to simmer down a bit. I'll try it again at some point when I'm not as tired and feeling more patient. I don't mind a good challenge, but I knew if I kept going as I was, the controller was gonna mysteriously fly.
I was at a flea market today, and someone had a Cortana funko pop which they were selling for 5 bucks, so I bought it since I knew it was worth MOAR than 5 bucks. My "leaving the scene of the crime" walk never felt so wrong, yet ever so right!
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

@Tyranexx Ah... let me tell you of the joys of a hacked SNES Classic combined with extension cords...
Some people wonder what the benefits are, besides being able to stuff around 150-180 in total (taking into account enough leftover room for save states) on a vanilla SNES Classic, and tons more, if you add the USB drive extension. Well, THAT's where the hack also comes in: two button reset and menu combo. It's great. With the right extension cords, you can safely sit the standard viewing distance away from the TV (that being 10 feet), and do whatever you need to do, without ever having to lift your body from the sofa or seat you've installed yourself in.
Even if you don't want to add any extra games to the existing ones, that alone is already worth hacking it for.
But yeah, that game is pretty ridiculous at times. It's also pretty annoying that, no matter how strong your acquired armor is, it still only takes one hit for your player character to end up in his boxer shorts...
And decades after, that "iconic" feature, is mostly what the game is known for, because it graphically emphasizes the game's ridiculous difficulty level.
@ThanosReXXX: I've considered doing some light hacking with it once it's out of warranty. It still boggles me that they didn't at least come up with an extra button or something on the controllers just for save states....
I will say that the hero (Does he have a name?) being knocked into his skivvies after a single hit is humorous. That said, you'd think the armor upgrades like the green one I found would at least let you take more hits or something. It also doesn't help that, as far as platformers go, I've played very few where your character jumps like a sick llama.
@AlohaPizzaJack: I'm putting off playing RPGs on it for the time being; I usually try not to play more than one at a time. I'll get to it at some point but will likely play the two RPGs on it that I've never experienced before (Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy III/VI) first.
If it's any comfort to you, I have played and beaten Earthbound on the Wii U VC. If only there was a way to (legally) import the save file from that onto the SNES Classic....
