@ThanosReXXX it's such a pain too. Mosquitos love me and what's even worse, is I'm a big fisherman so I'm always exposed.

Days off are strange beasts. On one hand, they're usually wonderful. On the other, they blow by WAY too fast....

@ThanosReXXX: Good to know, thanks! I've had half a mind to visit Vulgrim again, if only because I have some orbs burning a hole in War's proverbial pocket. I'll likely leave the cathedral after I'm done gallivanting around in the basement. The funny thing is, I - almost - bought a scythe off of him during my last visit....

It's definitely an interesting game so far. It's kinda like Zelda, only with more hack 'n slash elements.

@Anti-Matter When did you send it - I haven't seen one?

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@ReaderRagfish I've been playing on Switch, PC, DS Lite and mobile recently too. I just always get this weird nagging feeling in the back of my mind like I am somehow betraying my favorite platform by doing so. lol And my comment was mostly a joke anyway.

My Wii U will see less use soon barring the occasional VC entry or game revisit until I decide to pick up more retail games. I was debating about picking up Darksiders II used since I'm enjoying the first game, but I think at this point that a Switch version will be somewhat likely. Though I AM mildly curious why the Wii U version retailed only at $19.99 at launch while the Switch version is $29.99.

I haven't properly busted out my SNES Classic yet, so I'll likely soon transition to that as my "TV" console for a little while.

Yea i played alot of retail games on wii u myself , at least the main ones I wanted to play. I'm mainly using it for vc now that all these games are coming out on switch, Im barely gonna touch my Wii u. Especially once I finish spirit tracks. Other than some some Mario golf, super mario world, some metroid games, and zelda games

I keep my Wii U around for VC and Wii games and the couple of Wii U games that haven't been brought to Switch, most notably, Xenoblade X.

@NintendoByNature Ah, that sucks. Fortunately for me, mosquitoes don't like my blood, so after maybe one or two bites, I'm usually left alone, except when I go abroad. So, foreign mosquitoes either learn slowly, or they're simply more hungry for blood.

However, as you may know, it's not just the mosquitoes when living near or on a body of water. It's all kinds of flying vermin, some trying to hide in my living room, others trying to partake in the food I'm trying to prepare. Oh, well... guess it comes with the territory of slowly returning to the summer season. Between me and the electric insect toaster, I think I'll get by.

@Tyranexx Yup, that's basically exactly what it is. The developers also never made a secret of it, that they were heavily inspired by the Zelda games, so the puzzles and certain elements of the combat can certainly come across as having a lot of similarities to those games. And the finishing touch is the, in my opinion, brilliant art and character design of Joe Madureira, which to me, makes it feel like walking around in a giant, 3D comic book world.

Concerning upgrades, another handy thing to do, is even if you don't have enough credits, just to browse all the available lists in the shop, select the weapons you would want to have (and remember: diversity), as well as any other items that might come in handy, then calculate the total amount needed, and then start grinding your way to that total amount, instead of just randomly going back into the shop in hopes of having racked up enough points, but not having done so, meaning you'd have to go back anyway.

Better do it right the first time, instead of in stages.

As for the price disparity between Darksiders 2 on Wii U and the Switch: I'm not quite sure, but it could be that the Switch version is also a remastered one, while the Wii U version is simply a port of the original version of the second game. Which, strangely enough, came out before the first game, and afterwards, the Wii U received the Warmastered Edition of the first game.

And although I now have a Switch, I too keep my Wii U around, mainly for games that won't appear on any other platform, or games that play uniquely different in their Wii U versions, such as LEGO City Undercover and Batman Arkham City Armored Edition. And of course for the very best console version of Need for Speed Most Wanted...

@ThanosReXXX Was the "sucks" pun unintended up there?

Darksiders is certainly a nice game graphically. I didn't know Joe Madureira had a hand in it, but looking back it makes sense. That said, I've made sure to play on the TV primarily with my pro controller; not only is my Gamepad's battery life starting to get a bit short in the tooth (not that it was great to begin with), but its screen doesn't do the game justice IMO.

On the grinding: I'm not sure I'll grind out everything, but those tips are definitely worth keeping in mind. Thanks! It's been a couple of days since I've been trying to push Bravely Second more, but I do intend to play Darksiders this evening.

On the pricing: I think you misread my post a bit, but I can see where the confusion came in. I was comparing the launch price of the Warmastered Edition/first game on the Wii U versus the launch price of the recently released Switch version. To my knowledge they're both the remastered version, though I suppose the primary difference is disk vs. cartridge.

My Wii U is also my Wii machine since the original Wii is still at my parents' place. It doesn't get used often, but both times I've asked to run off with it in recent memory have been turned down. Apparently my sister still plays Wii Sports and that awful Hannah Montana game once in a blue moon.... Plus mom went through a Just Dance phase for a little while.

The Hannah game on 360 wasn’t too bad. (It was part of my early achievement hunting days).
I broke down and downloaded the Phoenix Wright trilogy. I’m glad, because enough time has passed to forget a few things. I think I’ll just do an episode per day or something and stretch it out.

Speaking of darksiders, I'm actually pretty far in it I believe. Just beat the " queen spider " or whatever her name was. All I can tell you, is that entire dungeon gave me the heebie jeebies for sure. All that slithering and clicking noises from the arachnids sure doesn't do too well with spring around the corner and insects starting to become more prevalent

I finally downed Tiamat a little while ago. That certainly took a few tries. XD

I almost had to quit playing the game at one point though. War kept clipping through the floor at weird times on that lowest level where you have to fight a gauntlet to get the third and final sword in the basement. By clipping, I mean he'd slowly sink through the platform/lava and then infinitely fall (A reload fixed this). At one point it even performed a fall & freeze when I activated the final two pain-in-the-rear enemies after retrieving the sword. I finally figured out that it might be related to the two chests in the room, so I left them unopened until the end; it seemed to usually occur when I'd walk over to one to try and open it before the final phase of the gauntlet.

That or it was because I kept using the crossblade on that bloated zombie thing that emits gas to stun it before it fully emerged from the floor.
