@Tyranexx Ah, I see. That is indeed still quite early in the game. I won't add any spoilers then, but here's some friendly advice: make sure you get a good mix of weapons, so hand weapons and long range ones. The sword is decent enough, but it must be upgraded for later levels. For long range, take something like a scythe, which you can both wield and throw, or something of that order. Also try to balance your skill tree, so that there isn't too much of a disparity between the various strengths that your character War has and/or can acquire.
Some people I know already had quite a bit of trouble getting past Tiamat, but he is far from the most difficult enemy in the game, so having a balanced skill set and a good variety of weapons is key to getting through all of that.
Nice thing is, that the lower level enemies keep regenerating every time you re-enter an area or room, so it isn't too hard to collect the orbs that you need to buy (most of) the upgrades. It can be a bit of a grind sometimes, but the rewards are certainly worth the effort, so just keep at it, and you'll find that it really does make quite the difference.
@NintendoByNature My balcony hangs over a canal, so I've got the same problem in the summer, with all kinds of flying pests. Got me one of those blue light insect toasters, which is positioned near the balcony door in my kitchen, which does take care of quite a few of them, but unfortunately not all...

Days off are strange beasts. On one hand, they're usually wonderful. On the other, they blow by WAY too fast....
@ThanosReXXX: Good to know, thanks! I've had half a mind to visit Vulgrim again, if only because I have some orbs burning a hole in War's proverbial pocket. I'll likely leave the cathedral after I'm done gallivanting around in the basement. The funny thing is, I - almost - bought a scythe off of him during my last visit....
It's definitely an interesting game so far. It's kinda like Zelda, only with more hack 'n slash elements.
