@rjejr Oh, I'm actually perfectly happy with my own life. Currently just HUGELY annoyed at all the idiots on here, slamming a pretty much all but perfect Direct, because they didn't get that one game that they specifically wanted.
These last couple of days, I've been wanting to be able to use my avatar's imaginary finger snap more and more...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'

I've laid off the comment section on some of the articles here lately. Did people get their expectations up too high again? I didn't see everything that I wanted to, but it was definitely an awesome Nintendo Direct. Plenty of exciting announcements IMO.
@CanisWolfred: Woohoo! Another someone here who's still planning on getting a Switch but doesn't have one yet! ^_^ Glad that your day yesterday went well. The Direct was the only highlight for me.
(Short version: I'm dealing with a pretty nasty head cold).
So apparently there's going to be SpongeBob spin-offs revving up about different characters, which includes series, specials, and even movies, which means FRED RECHID COULD GET HIS OWN MOVIE!!!
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
@Blitzenexx Saying they got their expectations up too high, would probably be an understatement.
No, there's a new kind of wind blowing through the halls of the irrationals: they judge an entire presentation as being bad, based upon a single game that they wanted to be shown, but wasn't shown.
And mind you: those supposed games were never confirmed nor hinted at being in the Direct in the first place, they were just part of the many rumors. My suspicion is that the simpletons thought, that just because parts of the rumors were true, that they were probably all true, and hence all the "righteous" outrage at games A, B and C not being in the Direct.
So, basically, you've made the wiser choice by staying out of it. I'm already massively annoyed again.
And I already wasn't feeling too great in the first place, due to my injury...
@ThanosReXXX: My own health (physical and otherwise) as well as my time is why I've started paying less attention to comment sections overall. I'm not only applying that theory to articles here to an extent, but also am working on doing that nearly everywhere else online. It's amazing how much time I waste some days reading pointless comments that tear down X group, activity, console, etc. because they like or identify with thing or idea or broad inclusive group Y or Z. There's some intelligent conversation to be sure (and there are places much MUCH worse than the comment sections here), but more often than not it's drowned in narrow-minded name-calling, mudslinging, or trolling.
But yeah, that's why I tend to throw a lot of salt behind rumors. Many have at least a grain of truth to them, but I think it's pointless to be upset about something that was never officially confirmed or even hinted at. Sure, I would have liked to see something on the rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy port, but that was nothing more than a rumor that may still surface in the future. Dismissing the rest of the Direct does Nintendo and the fans who did enjoy it a disservice. There was PLENTY on offer to be excited about.
Anyone standing right outside my house when I watched the Link's Awakening announcement probably would have thought my chosen sports team had scored or something. XD
@GyroZeppeli If only. Then I would have been more at peace with it...
@Blitzenexx True, this community isn't nearly as bad, no, but it has become considerably worse than it was, ever since I joined, and in my view, a large part of why this community hasn't yet sunk down to the levels of a YouTube comments section, is because it's more tightly monitored, and some people have already flown off the handle regardless, with several issued warnings and/or bans as a result.
Right now, I'm sporting a MASSIVE head & neck ache, due to stress, partially also because of all this crap. And because I'm already on a maximum dose of pain killers, I can't take anything to take care of the headache...
I can empathize with the neck pain. Our accreditation review is 100% over tomorrow (we only had 5 ‘recommendations for improvement’ out of 1852 standards, yay), and all the extra work and stress have caught up. From an increased workload on my department due to field staff prepping their audits, and all the setup/breakdown of conference halls, all the way down to those dang plants, my body is worn and my neck muscles are rocks.

@JackEatsSparrows Ah, yeah... I know that kinda pain, from crunch-time at the office, back in the day.
But what I'm currently suffering, is more like a migraine: one-sided headache, that radiates out to the neck and shoulders. Migraine also runs in my family, predominantly on the female side, but apparently, I'm one of the lucky men to also get it at times...
@ThanosReXXX: I've also noticed the slight dip in (overall) civility here compared to when I joined back in mid 2015; I'd been using the site for news since 2011 bit admittedly didn't peruse the comment sections much then.
Ironically, I think the Switch's popularity has brought in more site traffic compared to when I joined during the Wii U days. While more traffic isn't necessarily a bad thing, it also tends to attract more of...Well, the stuff I dislike about the world wide web.
