Ok, posted this in the PS4 thread, but I'm simply fuming and venting at the moment and need to vent.....the PS4 Pro KH3 limited edition I magically preordered the tiny window it went live right before Christmas.....Gamestop just randomly cancelled on me and offered a $25 gift card as consolation. I am in pure rage mode right now. I know they do that all the time, but this is just gross to have this limited items, take preorders, but the preorder really means nothing at all and they just cancel on a whim.
And of course it was a gamestop only item....so there was no one else to have done it right.
That was a little breakthrough that made it "ok" that my existing PS4 Pro beeps non-stop.....I got in on the special one - the only special one that meant anything to me and wasn't hideous. And...they take that away and I'll have to pay full price for a plain old black one now. Or pay scalper fees. My head is a rage cage.
@CurryPowderKeg79 At least it's less depressing to not be the only one (even though I already knew I wasn't ) I shouldn't be this bummed about it since it was just an LE of a platform I already have.... it's not like it was the Switch launch. I'd have had to take hostages if they did that for Switch launch.
But it's still depressing. I mean...KH3 LE...gone...just like that....
@NEStalgia Aw, man. That sucks. You know I'm not exactly part of the Sony fan club, but even if I was,
I would probably be just as angry as you, or maybe even more so. And what they offered in return, is no less than outrageous. If that would happen to me in an actual physical store, I'd probably drag the person telling me that over the counter to give him a piece of my mind...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@NEStalgia I give you my sympathies about losing your pre-order of KH3 LE. I may get KH3 as my December payment from my stepmom since I should her the Amazon page. I asked her to pre-order it so I can get the Keyblade DLC. Again, I hope you find a way to remedy this. Wish you luck.
I would like to say, Amazon may be your best friend for pre-ordering games other than GameStop, even though they don't have the GameStop exclusives. But that's my opinion about that.
My Tetris machine came in a rough state. The packaging is a all squashed and bent, and even one of the buttons is kinda damaged, plus there's a small scratch on the screen...
The only thing that really irks me about LE consoles and games is that they tend to go on sale when I'm at work. Due to the nature of my job, I unfortunately can't monitor the internet every second of the day and often can only do it when I'm on break. I don't know how scalpers do it; do they take the day off of their own normal jobs just waiting for the moment the item drops, or is that how they make a living?
The only store for miles that specializes in games and related merchandise is GameStop unfortunately. There was a resale store that sold retro games for someone else as part of their inventory for a little while, but they moved locations and downsized to only their stuff. Besides GameStop, there's also....Walmart. If I want anything else, I have to either order it online or drive about an hour and a half to the nearest city that has other retail stores like Target.
That said, I don't dislike the employees at the local GameStop by any means; most of them are long-time regulars and are pretty nice/chill. I just dislike some of (well, a lot of) the company's policies and methods. As I don't like dealing with online selling however, that's usually where my game trade-ins end up.
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
Just now, i revived my "eliminated PS4 games" (FF X/X-2 HD, FF XII the Zodiac Age, World of Final Fantasy) back on my gaming shelf after several months i "removed" them from my gaming shelf. 🤓
Now, there are 6 PS4 games on my PlayStation corner.
Well...
While waiting the Switch version, i can play the PS4 version first.
Don't worry.
I still LOVE Nintendo.
I just want to treat my PS4 nicely like there was nothing really hurt my feeling.

Ouch. Just ouch.
Own up to Joy-Con Drift, Nintendo. We all know it's your fault

Can we get an F in the chat? @subpopz Probably a few years. The difference is Blockbuster was too deep in to go back from its outdated business model, GameStop has been adapting over the years. Not all of the efforts have been successful, but they would have died a decade ago if they had made only bad decisions.
@ReaderRagfihs That’s one of the worse examples, but it would have been great if they just had a two store ThinkGeek & GameStop combo, like Pizza Hut & Wing Street. GameStop sells download codes now, so you can at least say they tried to adapt.
