So that's the stream done with. 9.5 hours into the game, just finished Team Rocket.

Golbat has yet to evolve, and that entire scenario and preceding two gyms were...kinda mindless.

Finally got off of my arse and wrote an article, this time about Mario Odyssey outpacing Battlefront 2 and effectively showing EA the business model they dismissed has merit XD

I'll try to 100% Odyssey. I'm going to save up this year and tackle my backlog, since its kind of getting out of control. I have a lot of games waiting, and a lot of hours there specially if I try to 100% them.

And I heard about the eclipse! Its a shame we can't see it in Chile, but we'll get a partial solar eclipse in February. We just had the super moon, and the blue moon tonight.

On the subject of Pokemon crystal, I'm currently soft resetting for a shiny odd egg.

2 tries so far... I'll take the first shiny and add it to the team as a permanent member regardless of what it is.

My wifi was acting up, but I ended the stream after beating Clair.

Oh holy smokes. On the 5th try I got a shiny Tyrogue. That's actually one one of the rarest Pokemon in the odd egg, at 1%.

That was super lucky.

@Octane I was debating it for my Crystalteam, but then I found out you need 8 badges and the Tyrogue is Lv10.

This game is so stupidly designed sometimes.

My choice was to clone it. I made two backup tyrogues just in case.

I'm gonna let the one in my team to evolve into whatever he likes. Though looking at his stats, it may be Hitmonlee.

@YummyHappyPills What about the egg? There's a one in seven chance or something like that. Anyway, the only good fighting Pokemon in Crystal is Heracross IMO. Machamp requires a trade, which is annoying, none of the Hitmons are particularly great (Hitmontop's moveset is terrible, and Hitmonlee gets way better in gen 4), and Mankey isn't available.

Hitmontop is the worst to get.

The absolute worst because it can all go to pot when he levels up and his stats become unbalanced due to EV gains from the battle. Ugh

Honestly I forgot the Egg was a thing. Then again im also pmaying this on my SNES Classic so I dont know which versions the Egg is in. I know they added Celebi to the VC release

The odd egg should be freely available in any international version of crystal.

The thing with the odd egg is that your Pokemon is guaranteed to be terrible if it's not shiny.

Each Pokemon comes in two varieties: normal with 0 in all stats, or shiny with 10 in all stats.

So if you plan to use a Pokemon from it, you might as well go for the shiny.

I just checkedwhat comes from the Egg and with the exception of Magby nothing I can really use.

Even then itll be lv5 and Im 8 badges deep...

In silver, I got a level 5 Pokemon after the league (my Aerodactyl), it wasn't extremely hard to level it up.

Of course, I had to go through the elite four a few times, and it spent most of the time leeching exp.

I dont fancy doing that live on stream XD

@YummyHappyPills most streamers handle grinding out of stream. You could try playing the game on your own when you're not going to advance in the story or do anything new.

@Octane Mantine was an encounter but it was stubborn.

@Meowpheel Most streamers do. This is also a blind run so...dont want to risk anything. If it wasnt obvious Johto and I dont mix well.
