True, but perhaps the fellow responsible for creating the words we use for these numbers was an ancient, time-traveling being. He predicted that the immature children (and young adults) of this time would jest about the number's names and decided to call them something else.

Ah, but it was a trick! I am a time-traveler myself and I was reading over this thread. @True mentioned that fourteen would sound like farting (it was previously pronounced fouro). I decided to travel to the past and change the word to fourteen. Turns out, the person who invented fouro is also the person who invented time-traveling, so I'm currently in an endless war between fouro and fourteen. I need to go to sleep...

I once had a character for a long time who was supposed to be a boy genius. One of his quirks was his weird tastes in women. Over the years he's dated:
A ghost girl who could turn into a water monster
A Vampire girl
A reindeer (the elves must've spiked the punch )
A Frankenstien/mummy/zombie Monster girl his dad (a mad scientist) made
A boy who managed to convince him he was a girl despite both of them attending an all boys school
No less than 3 aliens, including an insectoid creature
A Shadow woman who is the daughter of "the Mooch" and the Queen of Darkness.
A Sentient Toaster
A ditsy Lesbian who didn't even know they were on a date...and is probably the only normal girl he's ever dated.
And a girl in a playboy bunny outfit who is apparently the Easter Bunny.
Possibly more that I forgot, too. Someday I'm gonna try to draw all of them for the helluvit.
