Actually, I was kind of impressed that joke didn't work its way in. That, and not a single reference to a "poop deck". Stayin' classy, eh, subconscious?
...or at least as classy as a dream involving butt pirates could be.
Though, on that...topic? I failed to mention before that their main cannon was Zarya from Overwatch, which could only be activated/fired off by the captain.

Getting back to the Game Awards talk, my main issues with it are still what they decide to focus on.
It's still the only awards show I know where they unceremoniously pass over awards. Not only that, but they pass over Handheld/Mobile game, Indie game, & RPG, and yet Esports Player & YouTuber get stage reveals? Seems like odd priorities.
That, and the performances absolutely sucked this year! Two rap songs & a metal song, what were they thinking? I guess I can look past the metal performance since it was related to DOOM, but what did the rap songs have to do with gaming? I honestly turned down the volume during all three.

Wait, they still have televised video game awards? And people still watch them? I thought you guys were talking about Gamespot or whatever. You know. Something actually relevant.
Welp, my gaming headphones came in, didn't get much time with them yet, though....Gonna test it out with Monster Hunter for a bit until I rage quit and go back to Pokemon. xD

I could take that discussion a LOT farther, but...eh, site rules. XD
Though I think @CanisWolfred takes the trophy for weirdest dream of the week.
So is anyone really surprised that they moved development of Stardew Valley from Wii U to the Switch?
not at all...but...what happened to the butt pirates?

@TomJ - The shading definitely helps, though the arms on the guy to the right look a little weird. I can't quite put my finger on why, maybe a different shade would've worked? It just seems like his hands are too fat now.
Also, the more I look at it, the more I realise that I can't really get a sense for where your light source is supposed to be?
It's a yellow T-Shirt with Cape Mario riding Yoshi (like the SMW cover art) with the rising sun behind them, and in red white & blue Katakana says "Super Mario" below.
I've had it for years, and due to wear relegated it to home only wear, but it's just worn down too much.

@CanisWolfred So the light source is supposed to be from the top of the picture. And yeah, I'm still trying to learn how to shade and want to improve, I just need more practice. It's just very tricky.
Indeed! A tip I recall from middle school art class (AKA the last time I payed attention when somebody tried to teach me something) was that you should try drawing a single light source where you'd expect it to be, and try drawing ray fanning out in a believable pattern. Granted, I always could use straight edges + a compass for that, since I always hand draw, but if you're just using the comp (dunno if you are, just saying), I'm not really sure how you'd keep the lines straight, let alone properly "fanned out"...
If you have a lamp, you can use that + real life objects to help get a sense for how shadows usually look. It takes a lot of practice (I guess, I'm terrible when it comes to practicing anything, so everything takes "a lot of practice" in my mind, just because I'm impatient and I want everything to be done right on my very first try).
not at all...but...what happened to the butt pirates?
Maybe they found a buttload of booty
Technically yes. I mean, they destroyed in mall in a flood, so...free stuff eveywhere.
ill be damned.
my mall never has this much action

@CanisWolfred I just watched a youtube video telling me to imagine each shape containing squares or "polygons"; for example, a cylinder can have a group of squares that get darker as they move away from the light source. Then I can imagine the squares "fading" or blending into the drawing. There are many things I learned from that one video that I can go one for another minute.
...you got a link? I could at least skim it, I think...
