Well, what did you expect? Nintendo just showed a new console, and everyone is hyped up. Just give it a week and eventually the "switch" discussion will only be at the "Nintendo Switch" section on the forums.

I burned out this afternoon. The 'no backwards compatibility' news came when I was flagging from the endless speculation everywhere and it just bummed me out.

I took some time out tonight with Mario Kart 8 as a gesture to my Wii U - still just the best game.

I was just going to bed. Turned off the lights. Something's flashing.

It was my Wii U notification light. I smiled for old times' sake and pressed the Home button.

It was an invitation to watch the Switch trailer.

I don't care about being an early adopter at all, I'll just get the Switch some years from the release. There'll be probably an improved cheaper revision then.
For now I have a lot of GC, Wii, DS and 3DS games to play through.

The leaf green cartridge I just bought is a faaaakeeee.

I will probably still play it... But I'll probably not be able to trade or transfer Pokémon to other games... And it'll be all a bit more bitter.

I once got a bootleg Aladdin cartridge for the GBA. In its back it said "Nintondo" and it was actually the GBC version of the game but on a GBA PCB.

I had a nintondo cartridge once, my dad got it for me.

It was the Robots game, and it didn't even save.

I promptly lost it.

Sorry but it's highly unlikely to ever happen.

Just going by the size of the unit, I knew for sure the NS wouldn't be compatible with GCN/Wii/Wii U. I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't backwards compatibility with the DS/3DS family, but it also makes sense since those would have to be rebuilt from the ground up.

They could still get it to work on a single screen, look at the DS VC on Wii U, and 3D-....meh, who cares about that feature.

To be fair, 3D is most likely going to drive up production costs for the Switch, and the system needs to be as cheap as possible. So yeah... I'll be sticking to my 3DS for 3D gaming.

You can say "put it sideways", but... Still it seems awkward. I don't see it working too well.

Also, you wanna hear a funny story about a fake game? I went to the flea market and they were selling GameBoy games. One of them was Kirby, so I bought it...

Me being young and stupid at the time, I thought the game was fake, because it only had four levels....I was ripped off....

...No I wasn't, it was really just the first Kirby game...I only played the sequel and thought that was the first game. -.-

@Morph As I said before, they could make it work...Set it up the same way as the DS VC, there's even an option to have both screens sideways for games like Rhythm Heaven. Only game I can think of that would be annoying to play is BiS (or Dream Team if 3DS really does come to Switch at some point), where you'd have to pause the game every time you have to turns the screens over.
