Yeah, there were clown threats in our town last week. Apparently our police department managed to arrest one of them a few days ago.

I had never heard of it before then. To those not in the know, there's been some sort of "fad" (for lack of a better word) going across the US, where social media accounts by clowns are randomly popping up, saying they're going to target some town (usually the schools of that town). Usually nothing comes of it, but apparently in one city there were reports that they did show up, trying to lure students into the woods...

Spent an hour listening to Jim Jiang's speech about bringing Overwatch to life. It was a good speech and it was nice to see all kinds of concept art and early animations. I don't even play Overwatch but I really appreciate the world and characters they've been able to build. This has been the highlight of Northern Game Summit 2016.

The moment when you hear a Finnish game artist who has been in the game industry for 20 years say Majamoto. Very disappointed...

To give you the context, this was during NGS 2016 which is an annual conference where game industry professionals speak about the industry. This Finnish guy had been working on a game called Furry Dragon which was supposed to come out on GameCube and XBOX but they had trouble finding a publisher. We saw a gameplay video of the game that showed the dragon flying around the world. You could tickle chicken by flying around them because the dragon is furry and the music consisted of jazz and gospel. Publishers were like: "What am I even watching right now?". Nintendo got interested in the project and the game company sent them a demo. Apparently Miyamoto got to see the game. After few months of waiting, they had to cancel the game since they didn't get a publisher.
