So I watched the new Jungle Book movie and... That's like a weird ending.
They spend the movie demonstrating the kids potential for destruction and how the best option for the jungle is for him to grow up and leave.... And then the movie ends with "don't advance, be complacent and ignore your responsibilities, also tigers are jerks (but don't worry, there's not many left!)".
Dood, that movie's over 50 years old, you're not spoiling anything.
Why would you do that to The Jungle Book?! Was George of the Jungle not enough, Disney?! You gotta destroy this, too, one of your (I wanna say 8th or 9th) most beloved classics?! Well, damn you all to Detroit, I'm gonna put a stop to this, right now! Tarzan, get in the Jeep, we're getting you outta here, you can bring your monkey friends with- NO, TARZAN!!!
Yeah, Disney has been remaking a lot of their classic animated films in live action recently. There was Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty remake) awhile ago, Cinderella last year, Jungle Book this year, and Beauty & the Beast next year (there was also the Pete's Dragon remake this year too, though I'm not sure if that was originally animated).
From what I understand though, the Jungle Book remake did really well both critically & commercially.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 Well, to be fair, so was the original Jungle Book, and I thought that was a terrible movie, I was mostly being fecitious in my previous post. I mean, it doesn't seem like they made it any better, but it's not like they had much to ruin. Heck, it's not even the first live-action version!
Even Tarzan was arguably a very boring movie story-wise, and personally I only enjoyed the fancy backrounds and other scenes with a lot of motion in it. They were clearly just showing off what they could do visually, so a remake with modern CG makes a ton of sense. I mean, it'll still be the same boring story, but that's because it's based on a very dated novel from the 1930's (yes, I've read it. It was short, and it was either that, or having to read more Shakespeare in 10th grade English class...). There's not really a whole lot they could do with the concept (without being silly, like George of the Jungle), so of course they'd have every reason to skimp on their writing budget for the sake of better fur effects and inflated actors saleries...
On a side note: I should've known that the Jungle Book based on an actual book. I outta check it out to see how badly the movie missed the point - the book is apparently supposed to be a collection of fables teaching moral lessons...Disney's really, really bad at that. Like, Oh my God. Even their best movies manage to fumble the moral so hard, they may as well have scored for the other team.

If/When I get a PS4, it'll likely be the Slim as well. I'm not quite in a position to buy an expensive TV since I'm saving for other things. I'll stick with my 39" for now.

@Meowpheel ...there's already stubble in less than 2 hours...I usually have to shave at least a little every day, but I had been styling it (A goattee, occasionally sideburns). Doesn't help that my beard is kinda patchy, so I look even weirder with a full beard...but now I know that I at least need gotta keep the mustache, though maybe next time I'll see how the chin-beard looks on its own.
EDIT: I can't stop rubbing my chin...it feels naked...
On a side note, I've been having deja vu for the past hour or so. I've mostly been posting here and on another forum, chillin' until super time. In that time, I've talked about PC gripes, problems with Bethesda's game engine, joked about Tennis, volleyball, and badminton, whilst comparing the size defifferences between each sports' rack(et)s, underplayed the severity of a kickstarter game's delay, commented about my beard, and conformed that I would prefer to own the Vita version of a game while also contemplating a purchase of the PS4 version later down the line (a half-hearted commitment, to say the least)............and the entire time, I got this nagging feeling that I've said all of things before, in the exact same way...
And you know what? I think I have. Many times before. That's just....depressing. That means I'm predictable! I need some new material. I'm going outside-
Nevermind, I'm officially having deja vu. I saw everything that's happened for the past 2 hours or so while I was zoned out last week. Except I wasn't actually doing yet. I'd make a joke, now I know it's going to be lame, so...**** it...
Mine grows in about 5 days and I absolutely hate it. It's not even a good beard. Wish I could get rid of it forever.
