Topic: Realistic Expectation for Zelda's 35th Anniversary

I doubt Nintendo would announce anything regarding the fate of 3D All Stars until March as announcing Galaxy 2 in February would sabotage 3D World sales.

@echoplex I just cannot see Nintendo bundling the HD ports of WW and TP.. if they do Bundle it will be the original versions upscaled but without any of the improvments.

That's a serious question. At least with the Mario games you could make the case that none of those games had any sort of real HD version before now and making one would take a lot of effort to do right. This would just be two more Wii U ports.

Yeah, the HD versions are already built, so they'd just need porting over and some fix-ups for the controls.

The issue would be rather whether there's still value in selling them individually rather than together as a bundle. Going by all the other Wii U games that Nintendo have ported to the Switch, the answer would appear to be that they probably are.

Or they could release the original, emulated versions of WW, TP and SS on a single cart All-Stars style AND digitally re-release the HD ports individually for WW and TP (and maybe SS but I don't think so). I can't see Nintendo going all physical for this event, should there even be an event.

Didn't they also release a CD with selected soundtrack along with SS? What anniversary was that, 20-25th? They could be planning on that as well.

One way or another all the 3D zeldas need to be playable on switch! It's just astounding to me that they are not already. Technically the switch doesn't even have it's own 3D traditional zelda yet. BOTW was always intended as a Wii U game. If nothing else get Ocarina of time on there! WW and TP seem like an absolute must! I'd still like skyward sword on there if possible. When that game got announced i remember being so hyped! Some of it did dissapoint but alot of it was fantastic!

Some things they could do:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Collection (OOT, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker non-HD) $60
2. Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD Bundle $60
3. Skyward Sword HD-$50
4. Zelda BOTW 2- Gameplay Demo and Release Window

Realistic? Ok....

@Marioman2020 they won’t release a demo for a zelda game on the eshop. Especially one that’s a sequel.

@Rambler I actually quite enjoyed Skyward Sword and Fi didn't annoy me TOO often (she definitely did still tho) Motion controls weren't an issue too often, also I'm sure Nintendo could figure something out. Imprisoned sucked, they could improve the pacing of that, but anyways Madi Maddas

I'm not sure what's more confusing the random 70 dollar price tag that would be considered far more absurd than the 3D All Stars Collection, or the lack of Wind Waker for no reason.

unless you're saying Nintendo is impossible to predict in which case...fair...

$70 would be fair for, say, a Breath of the Wild physical release with the DLC on the cart (which I would totally double-dip on) or if the sequel would require a 32GB cart, but not for a couple of tiny ports that could easily fit on a 1GB cartridge several times over.

A "Toon Link" bundle with Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks, and a more expensive main series bundle with Ocarina of Time through to Skyward Sword would be awesome, but I'll keep my expectations realistic. Nintendo would be silly not to rerelease the Wii U ports of WW and TP on Switch though.

Incidentally, I wish Nintendo had also included the DS version of Super Mario 64 in 3D All Stars, even if it meant taking the extremely lazy option by restricting the game to handheld mode (with the console needing to be held vertically). And on that note, I would prefer having the 3DS remakes of OOT/MM ported to Switch over the N64 versions.

@Silly_G only thing about spirit tracks and phantom hourglass is that they probably can’t be ported, mainly since they were designed for the DS. They’d probably have to remake it, if they put them both on switch.

@VoidofLight Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix would like to have a word with you. They took handheld games and remastered them as three hour cutscenes.

It'll be interesting to see whether anything does happen in the next week or if Nintendo decides to rely on 3D World for the following months.

Mario got 4 ports if you include 3D world, could Zelda get that + BOTW2?
