All the children try to run, To him its part of the fun. His branching arms are for collecting, His face is empty of expressing. He sometimes hums a lowly drone, He will wander 'round your home. Dressed in darkest suit and tie, He won't let you say goodbye.
I don't think karma is something you believe in, it just happens. What comes around, goes around, in other words. You better hope you haven't done anything you will regret later.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Nope. Often times, there is no way to judge if an action is truly good or bad. If you sacrifice the good of the many for the rights of a few, are you later going to pay for it, or are you going to be rewarded? There's now way to tell. Plus, hasn't the bible told us to do the right thing without expecting rewards?

... If you mean karma in a general sense of mysterious and/or divine boomerang justice, then that's still probably a no. Bad guys don't always get what they deserve, but fortunately human law does have a fairly good hit-rate either way.
In the way of Karma and mysterious boomerang vengeance I do believe in what the Bible talks about as in 'What a man soweth that shall he also reap' but I don't believe entirely in man's Justice System as they let criminals get away bang yo yo free with bloody wrong crimes while they punish the innocent and ignore people's problems like in Third World Countries. Still, I'm a strong supporter of Government and the Justice System of the USA and the UN.
Yet, I've experienced so called Karma quite a bit. It's funny how the Power of the Universe can affect our everyday lives in small, strange and unexplainable ways.

You're right. Karma doesn't matter if you believe in it or don't. Some people believed the Earth was flat and refused to accept that it was round but that didn't change the fact that the Earth is round. It doesn't matter if someone believes in Karma or not as it is more or less a Law of the Universe as some have discussed on PBS Nova and National Geographic in a religious and scientific sense.
@briunj04, Karma doesn't really have to do with you or I wanting or seeking a reward as it is a Cosmic Phenomena Law.

Yes the Bible does say that, and Also I don't mind doing good things because when I do something right I feel great and that's just a reward as good any reward out there.

A law of the universe? I'm not sure about that one. You said yourself that there are plenty of criminals who get off scot-free despite their crimes. If that same criminal is stricken with an illness and pops their clogs further down the line, as far as I'm concerned, that's just a coincidence. For every criminal that receives his/her just desserts, there's another one who doesn't and ends up enjoying a life of Riley until they die. Where's the karma in that? Of course, if for example, I punched somebody*, the likelihood is there will be direct consequences, i.e. that same person won't exactly be chummy with me, the person punches me back or most likely, I lose the respect of others. However, I wouldn't say that's karma acting, just the common principles of humanity, as it were. Besides, as @briunj04 says, a lot of actions aren't clear cut, in that they're difficult to differentiate between good or evil. If karma did exist, it would have a hard time telling them apart, making it's metaphorical "job" near impossible.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
