Hell ya! I love those low budget mid to late 80's Andy Sidaris flicks. Described as "Bullets, Bombs & babes" lol They're just enjoyable to have playing in the background since they emody everything that was so great about the mid to late 80's.

You still need to watch Picasso Trigger & Savage Beach. All available on Tubi of course.
BTW, i remember recommending you that body horror 'Body Melt' from the early 90's. It's not on Tubi anymore, but you can watch it for free in 1080p on YouTube >

Tomorrow is MOANA live action movie day.
I'm waiting for the funny scene of Moana meet with Maui for the first time in live action version.

@WaveBoy Yeah! I checked it out, what a wacky movie haha. It felt like a hodgepodge of different horror genres. You had the splatter gore stuff which felt very Troma, then there was that weird Texas chainsaw inbred family, and then the dude who kept hallucinating that woman, which felt like psychological horror. Also the evil company might as well have been Umbrella Corp.

Have you seen Razorback (1984)? That's another pretty great lesser known Australian horror flick.

Lol, accurate description of this movie. Some fans ate it up, though.

I watched MOANA live action movie several hours ago and.... It was quite good, but not as good as the animated version.
The live action version basically 95% same as animated version with some minor changes or cuts that didn't change the storyline structure.
If I rated the animated version with 8 from 10, the live action version was 7 from 10.
It was quite good but less funny.

Took a trip to the theater today, and went to see Toy Story 5. Great movie, liked it more than Toy Story 4. Loved it so much, I want to bring my friend to this movie and see it again, if I can. Honestly, it makes me want to watch Toy Story 2 again.

Now onto some spoiler stuff
Jessie is the main protagonist to this one, having some callbacks to Toy Story 2. She had more screen time than Woody and Buzz. She got to go back to Emily's (her original kid) home. This also introduces a new kid named Blaze, which is a really cool name!

watching the first two old Pokemon movies on Tubi tonight and tomorrow.

been a very long time sine i saw the first Pokemon 1998 movie Mewtwo Strikes Back. last time i watched that was when it was on Cartoon Network one time

Something interesting about Toy Story 5 from my perspective.

Bringing the convo back to ED: Burn for a second. Scanned some critic reviews. I guess they lean largely on above average to mild positive (58 on Metacritic at this time), but those who give it 6/10 or under echo what we found unsatisfying about the new direction. Not true to the spirit of the original 3 or TV series. Sure plenty will love it, but will skip seeing in the cinema myself. Any lore stuff will interest me, but I just don't like gore for the sake of gore.

Early ratings on IMDb are "Very Good" (for a horror movie).

It's one of those movies where I hope the reaction is negative so I can ignore it and move on to something I can be more enthusiastic about. Like The Invite that I'll be seeing this weekend (now that the World Cup schedule has thinned out).

And hoping The Odyssey is as awesome as I hope for next weekend.

experiencing TS1 back in the theatres at 11 was truly something else. Loved it, just after Reboot dropped on YTV during the big CG boom in the mid 90's. but TS2? I saw that back in theatres as well but couldn't wait for it to end. Couldn't stand Jessie. lol TS3 redeemed the franchise and was a really good send off, but then T4 happened. It was fine, I guess? I can't even remember what happened, other than....Forky.

People seem to dump all over 4, but 2 was the franchises low point imo.

It was the one, and probably only time in history, when a whole cinema audience collectively whispered to each other, “Andy Peters!” as his iconic character, Baggage Handler #2, delivered his underwhelming line in the exact way he would say anything when presenting.

It might mean nothing to most, but it perfectly captured a moment in time when it seemed like everyone—absolutely everyone—had seen the Blue Peter Toy Story 2 special.

This one.hurts R.I.P. Sam Neil most famously known for playing Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park series. Another legend gone.

@Tasuki yeah just saw that this morning, sad news. Being a dinosaur nut as a kid, Dr Grant was one of my favorite characters. He was quite a versatile actor, excelling at both hero and villain type roles, as well as everything in between. I should rewatch In the Mouth of Madness one of my fav movies he's in.

Back when I was 20 in the mid 2000's, i did 1-2 months of extra work(small cattle call)on the TV series Merlin's Apprentace, in Vancouver. We were dressed as either towns folk, knights and whatever else. Sam was super quite on set and kept to himself, unless the director was giving him instructions. Was probably trying to focus, stay in character while going over his lined ect in his head.

I never got star struck with him for whatever reason, as much as I loved Jurassic Park. I thought it was trippier seeing Jenson Ackles, Tom Welling and Allyson Mack on the set of Smallville. Chatted with Mack briefly when she was randomly handing out chocolates to a few extras with that infectious smile of hers, and Tom accidently shoulder slammed me during a scene because I was off my mark(Wrong timing) while walking down a hallway while he nearly sprinted outside of a classroom. The dude was massive. Looked like he was almost 6'5 in his boots.

Extra work can really suck, due to long hours, the days going by very slowly and youve got to put up with multiple conversations coming from every angle at once. It gets even worse when your freezing your butt off outisde in multiple tents during Oct-Dec of filming. I'd never do that crap ever again. Lol 2 years was enough. it's easier when your younger and at first it's new and exciting, but the thrill wears off, once you realize how stupid everything usually looks in person on set before movie magic(Editing, 24fps, etc etc) gets applied.

Most union extras are so tired and unphased of celebs being there in person. It's like one big whatever. they're just people at the end of the day. Plus, the level of Vanity, narcicsm and ego with younger extras and actors is total cringe. lol

Ive seen JP too many times. I actually prefer watching the the first half of JP2 these days, and bits of 3. The latest batch of modern JP movies were totally weak.

@WaveBoy The most well known memory for me about Toy Story 2 was my girlfriend at the time and me seeing it on Thanksgiving Day 1999. We were dating for 6 months prior and that was the first time she meet my family. She was a big Disney fan and after dinner we decided to go see Toy Story 2. Of course for it being Thanksgiving the theather was practically empty especially for the second day. But yeah I remember not liking Jessie a whole lot and her personality just annoyed me dont know why but it just did maybe because it was the whole up in your face part.

I also remember this was during the time when Disney was releasing subpar sequels to alot of their well known movies, Aladdin Return of Jafar, Lion King II and countless others that were nowhere as good as the originals, you can tell the were just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks and hope to make a quick buck. This was also around the time that the Disney Renaissance was over for me. Toy Story 2 felt no different. It felt like one of their rushed sequels trying to capitalize on the popularity on the first one. It felt to me like it should have been a VHS release rather then a big screen release. Which I guess it was original but Disney decided to put it out on the big screen to honor some kind of deal with Pixar which caused a hug rift between them. But anyways it just didn't have the same feel as the first one did. I remember leaving the theather that day being disappointed.

And yes 4 felt the same too. It felt that they got their mojo back for Toy Story 3 which I enjoyed but then just released the 4th one to keep that popularity going. The one thing I will say with 4 is that I liked how they brought Woody's Story to an end but now hes back in 5 and I am so confused. That right there just makes me feel like its going to be another cash grab sequel. I guess I will see when it comes to streaming there's now way I am spending $20 to see it in theaters.

@WaveBoy Lucky, I got Toy Story toys in 1995 and 1996, but I never saw the movie in theaters, only on VHS. I saw TS2 on Disney Channel in the early 2000's. I'm glad I got to experience 3 and 5 in theaters, back when I was a kid, I didn't get to see animated movies in theaters. Saw 4 on Disney+.

The fifth movie had a big focus on Jessie. She was on screen more than Woody and Buzz.
(Spoiler if you wish to see) She returns to her old house when she was owned by Emily, only to find someone else is living there. It leans into her backstory in TS2.

Funnily enough, I ended up liking Jessie after the third movie.

Saw the comedy/drama The Invite.
Starring Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton.

I was loving the comedy, not so much the drama.
For much of the runtime I was thinking it was my favourite film of the year. So recommended overall.
