In a bit of a surprise turn we rewatched Avatar: the Way of Water again at the theatre over the weekend. My brother wanted to see it again (it's his favorite film series) & he said he'd pay if I went with him so I figured why not. Still managed to absolutely engross me the second time around. The underwater scenes are nothing short of magical in 3D.
Also got to see the first Mario movie trailer in 3D (the one with the penguins) this time around as well, which was a nice perk.

Finished watching the action movie, RRR. It's impressive, and kind of fantastic. If you want to see something new & amazing, here you go. See the clip I posted above, if you missed it.
Got this in on Blu-Ray as I remembered finding it pretty humorous when I watched it online at some point in the distant past.
It's... fun. An action parody of the anime tropes of the mid-late 80's, it probably won't win you over if you aren't already an anime fan (especially a fan of the era it was berthed from), but if you are it's worth a shot.
It was nice seeing it remastered in HD, some of the shots still hold up pretty well (I personally loved the space ship & most of the mecha design), it still holds a few chuckles (I laughed my rear off during a reveal during a theatre scene while the characters were watching a horror film), and the presence of fan service is a nice touch as always.
For the Blu-Ray itself it gets props for being absolutely stuffed with about the most special features I've seen in an anime release (especially for a film), and it even has a reversible cover.

@Pikki I'm surprised that android girl skews so far into the uncanny-valley look. I don't think I could watch the movie because of it. -not a put down, it just weirds me out too much. Granted, uncanny valley works for the horror genre.
The Game Plan on Disney+ tonight. Mom and I wanted to watch something tonight and couldn't decide on something, so we watched something we never watched before on Disney+. Enjoyed this one, it was about a football player, with a big ego, who never knew he had a daughter. Has that humor most family movies about kids has, and I'm not saying that in a bad way at all. Gets really heartwarming towards the end, and has a little twist I didn't see coming. Good movie for the evening.
The other day, I saw Great Mouse Detective, also on Disney+. Tagging @MarioLover92, IIRC, I think you mentioned this one in the chit-chat thread. This was a great movie and one I'm surprised I never seen. Really a cool mystery movie. Basil, Dawson, Olivia, her father, were all great characters.
Tom Hanks plays a grumpy old man lost in life who makes trouble for everyone in the neighborhood, however thanks to a young family that moves next door (& a cat) he gets a new lease on life.
Not typically the kind of thing I'd see in theatres, but we went as a family & I'm glad I saw it. It bounces between comedic moments & dark, emotional ones, and while it may not be the most unique idea I can't really find anything to fault with it. The leads put in great performances, it was shot well, and it had me both laughing & bawling my eyes out throughout it's runtime so it did something right.

@Sunsy I did mention The Great Mouse Detective to you earlier, that's cool you saw it! Glad you enjoyed it, as well. It's one of those Disney movies that came out before the Renaissance era, where Disney started to get popular again in the 90s. That might be why I didn't really see it when I was much, much younger, only a VHS preview of it.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, I think I remember a preview somewhere or something, or even seeing the DVD in the past at a store, but I'm surprised I never seen it until the other night. I missed out on this one.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Kermit1, yeah, it was just an all around good, emotional movie. Probably won't wind up on many peoples' top ten list or anything, but definitely worth a watch.

@Sunsy You've most likely already heard about it by now but I know this is right up your alley!

@Fizza Thanks for sharing! I'm really looking forward to this, especially since Trolls World Tour did skip theaters. Though did luck out when two theaters showed Trolls World Tour as part of their summer series of movies this past summer, so I got lucky to see it on the big screen twice.
Still not much known about it. Universal was at a Brazilian comic convention last month, and their display had Poppy with a new outfit. Aside from that, I'm looking forward to the day the trailer comes out.
So excited to see what's next for this world. Trolls set everything up, Trolls World Tour expanded on it with other Troll kingdoms and trolls based on different music genres. Who knows what's next?
