I finally got around to watching Brazil. Spoilers, not once does anyone actually go to Brazil in the movie!

I've been meaning to watch it for years, I've always found Terry Gilliam hit and miss in a good way as he tries to do things differently and has ambition which doesn't always match his execution, which is probably why I took so long to watch this as I didn't know what I was gonna get. It does swing from campy to witty all over the place which is probably intentional since it's equal parts farce and tragedy but it's so visually amazing. It does make me laugh that it's a 40 year old warning when looking around at the landscape of today, with a few snips it could be modern satire.

@Rambler I mean Brazil is far most interesting to watch, I put 1984 on the table but the book just stays there in a still state!

I was talking about the recent The Hunt movie with whatshername from Glow plus Hillary Swank, Wayne Duvall and Emma Roberts. I liked the twist that it is not who you think it is doing the killing but it still caused outrage.

@Kermit1 I know what you meant, but look at what they said to what you are attempting to connect it to. They said spacewalk, and Michael Jacksons dances was called the Moonwalk. Now if they said Tom Cruise is the first celebrity to Moonwalk then it would have made more sense.

Did Michael Jackson have a song called okay and people are just posting the lyrics or are we asking about the children he had over as guests?

@Rambler And it's got the awesome Mahershala Ali in it too.

It's a shame that people view it as merely a gay film and wouldn't give it a watch as it's really about identity which you would think be a universal theme that can be appreciated by all.

Watched deadstream last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. Reminds of of evil dead mixed with paranormal activity. Highly recommend to anyone who was into the evil dead or army of darkness

Since I last posted in here, I watched two stinkers and one banger called 'You are not my mother'. Well worth a triple bill with The Hole in the Ground and the Hallows as a nice Irish folklore triple bill.

Life to the living, death to the dead.

@Rambler It's still not as dark as the original tale.

@Rambler I've read the original Grim Fairy Tales and my Mom's book series (yes my mom writes books, if you want to know more ask me in the book thread). I'm not the biggest fantasy fan book wise but movie wise I love fantasy.

I have not read the book. Looks good though ngl.

Watched Ella Bella Bingo on the Roku Channel tonight (side note, it's also on Vudu as a free movie). A lesser known animated movie, about a girl named Ella and her friend Henry. A new kid named Johnny moves in to town and Ella and Johnny fight over who Henry should be friends with, thus making Henry runs away, putting Ella's neighborhood on a quest to find out where he disappeared to. It's no Disney or DreamWorks, but I did like the nice friendship story that came out of and the outcome in the end. For a lesser known studio, the animation did not look bad. Really nice scenery, especially in forest and field scenes of the movie. The grass, trees, hair effects, and lighting actually looked good.

It's clearly made for younger kids, but I still had a nice time with this one. Good light-hearted movie IMO.

@Rambler I thought the same thing of a cutesy ghost story as I judged it after only seeing the poster. It reminded me of the couple from Beetlejuice. I’ve still not seen it but I probably will sooner or later.
