You know those commercials where you get a few seconds of fake movie, and then someone yells cut and the actor either walks off the side of the set or the camera zooms out to reveal it is a set or whatever? That is how this felt, the entire time. Like any second someone would yell cut, Chris Hemsworth would remove his wig, walk off the side to the buffet table and talk to me about insurance or something.
I honestly would rather watch that than Love and Thunder again. Thor advertising something like Geico, with the gecko appearing out of nowhere would be the crossover of the century.

That advert is more cinematic than any scene in Love and Thunder.
To be in the spirit of Love and Thunder, that car would have to be almost entirely edge to edge in the frame with a blurry static greenscreen behind it as the camera shakes a bit to imply motion.
There's not nearly enough mentions of Mikey Flanagan in the favourite directors talk or Akira Kurosawa or George Miller or Kinji Fukasaku or Sergio Leone or Andrei Tarkovsky or The Coen Brothers or Stanley Kubrick or David Cronenberg or Bong Joon Ho.
I think we had this discussion before, but Absentia is a masterpiece, Hush was okay and everything else Flanagan has done has been overhyped to all hell.
@Pizzamorg
I don't agree. I think Flanagan is the best horror director out there right now.
He knows how to build tension and doesn't rely on jump scares.

BOOO! All uk cinemas are to be closed on Monday or for free screen the Queens funeral, they really don’t see the short sighted of this and it’s like they are trying to make the recession happen sooner.
I was thinking about going to see The Woman King, just because the trailer looks cool rather than as ironic counter programming. Maybe I will walk down the road to the cinema and pick up some popcorn and a tango ice blast and then watch an anti-royal/colonial double bill at home instead now.

Yeah... they're crossing a line there.
It's one thing to be respectful to the death of a monarch, but when you shut down businesses and basically life altogether, those who don't care about the monarchy - which is a lot of people - are being completely shut out. Has to be frustrating.

Apparently Centre Parcs is closing just for that day. Helpful for those booked there.
This is what happens when you give a week's notice for childcare.
Also operations are being cancelled, so people will die because of this.
