@Maxenmus Yeah. Never said you had to be comfortable with it, nor idk when people said you couldn’t have feeling about it. The feeling are pretty understandable tbh, I honestly don’t think it’s a secret that company’s try everything in there power sleazy or not to try and get children to get there parents to buy there toys. As why I brought up Ben 10 marketing, because my god they try and do everything they can to get kids to buy there stuff, using there cartoon as there begging selling point.
I think even Ben 10 is different. Ben 10 the show doesn't have that image of false reality that many Disney films had, especially the ones in the '90s, when they presented false ideals of what true love looks like. Their films were problematic, and I'm glad that they've addressed it in their more recent films, but their merch still tells me they're still trying to peddle that false ideal about "perfect princesses" to young impressionable children. Their films rarely take risks in terms of cynicism and realism because doing so would mean ruining that perfect, ideal fantasy they're trying to sell.
@Snatcher I have, I was a huge puppet nerd as a kid. His name is Tom and I think he is in a plushie bin somewhere around my house.
They also had kits you could buy called muppet whatnot kits and I had a blue one, but over time I lost all the parts and the puppet went to a thrift store.
@Maxenmus I like talking to you too. I enjoy seeing different points of view, I don't really have that many opinions of my own so it makes it easy for me to put myself in other peoples shoes.
Thanks. I like talking to you because things rarely get heated. I don't mind different opinions, but because of my anxiety and paranoid disorder, I hate it when people hammer me for my opinions they disagree with in an aggressive manner. It's like, relax. Ask me nicely and I'll talk.
Fun Fact: Disney in the 80s made a Animal House-esc film for "teens" called Midnight Madness.
It's the most "adult" comedy Disney has ever made, it's kinda shocking how ""mature"" the humor is in it. Plus Michael J. Fox is in it for like 3 minutes and it's his very first film role (Pee Wee dude is also in it for a second). Everything in the film is played to extremes, if someone is a nerd they are the nerdy-est nerd to ever live, and it goes places you never thought a Disney films would go. I won't spoil it but WOW it's a fun time if you accept the rules of movie and role with it.
I'm not surprised, since Walt Disney has long passed away by the '80s, and the investors of the company pretty much seized the company from him and focused on selling it to the larger demographics during the '80s: teenagers and young adults. The '80s was a time when cartoons weren't selling as well anymore, especially with how big Star Wars and Back to the Future were, so they switched their focus to targeting older PG-13 audiences.
@Maxenmus Except, I'm not complaining about the complaining, rather made an observation I made in general. You can have your opinions, I'm not saying don't have them, everyone has an opinion. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. I have nothing against you or @Kermit1 for thinking differently.
@Snatcher I may not be a kid, but I love collecting character merch from animated movies I love. You could probably guess the kind of merch I have collected, lol.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

That's fine. You've merely contributed to a rather heated discussion that got out of hand about the complaining of Disney, so your post inadvertently came off that way. Sorry for dragging you into it.

I don't know how WBD is going to recover from this.
They lost trust with their consumers and the talent working for them.
Sure, WB was in debt even before the merger but their new CEO Zaslav made everything so much worse.
I dunno, it seems like a good time to invest to me. Companies making cuts after a take over is just standard practice but with people getting upset at them the stock is low so there is money-money in 3+ years time when their plans they are laying out now come to fruition.

It took them less then 24 hours for WB to do a complete 180, it’s crazy.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
