Yeah the MCU films are a bit like the Harry Potter films - get some quality actors to dick about in funny costumes. They bring the acting chops and therefore help make the films watchable, and they get a big pay day.
Really not interested in Thor love and thunder. I will still probably go see it, but that has more to do with hanging out with my brother and sister for a afternoon, rather than the movie itself.

@Rambler It's not even a new trick for superhero films, they over spent loads to make sure Jack Nicholson and Marlon Brando were in Batman and Superman to give them credibility.
I'm hoping for new dubbed versions of Guy Ritchie films, I'm from London but I don't even understand half the cockney slang in them.
For some reason, it seems it has become cool to hate on the MCU and superhero movies in general lately. I don't get it. I get a ton of enjoyment out of the genre, especially the MCU.
Can't wait to see Thor: Love and Thunder tomorrow.
@Tremblucay Nah people have been complaining about them before even the non-covid days.
I like superhero films but it’s so boring talking about them. One part as everyone calls themselves a comic book fan but have never actually
read a comic book so trying to have discussion meets a dead end as people only know the wiki summary or whatever the 5min Youtube vid they watched mentioned and two they are family fun blockbusters so you’re meant to eat popcorn say that was really good and then move on whilst a legit amazeball Marvel thing like Legion which does warrant endless analysis and discussion is ignored for the lack of jaunty costumes.
Anyways the comic book adaption I want is Love & Rockets.
I'm sure that a great film could be done of the early-mid 80s run. Jaime's stuff might be more cinematic than Gilbert's maybe
@jump
Maybe people have been complaining for some time now, but I only recently started to notice it.
You're right though that most people who watch comic book movies have never read a comic in their life, and I'm one of them. But the comics and the movies are two seperate things. There's no reason to have read the comics while discussing the movies. The MCU takes characters and general ideas from the comics, but they're no straight adaptations.
Also, I've been a part of an online chat group and we talk lots about the MCU such as where the different story threads are leading to in the future, what all the hints might mean, when and how the X-Men might be introduced,... there's tons of discussions to get into.
@Rambler The funny thing if you buy a shirt at a silly place like H&M or Top Shop chances are the band are actually getting a cut of the money but if you got to the cheesy rock stall in the market chances are they are bootleg.
Although saying that I have seen the greatest bootleg band shirt ever which I'm in two minds about getting for myself!
Last night watched The Voices with Ryan Reynolds and Gemma Arterton, where his cat, Mr Whiskers, is telling him (in a not too bad Scottish Accent) to kill people after accidentally killing someone. Whilst his dog, Bosco, is telling him everything is alright.
Very strange film, but love ones like this, just like Dave made a Maze which I think i said about on here before.
If you want an ending, don't expect one, but it is quite an interesting look in to the mind of someone who hears voices and some very funny dialogue with the cat and his dog
The big space battle with the astronauts floating around blasting each other with their chest mounted lazer blasters was the most (unintentionally?) hilarious thing I've seen in quite some time. Other than that, I really didn't think it was that bad (really not all that out of line with the other Moore era Bond films). Granted, there was WAY too much "Jaws" for my liking (the more of them I see, the more I think he's my least favorite part of these Moore Bond movies, & he shows up sooo much here. The way the movie ends they should have just written him out after this).
