@Snatcher Definitely will, I've showed some of the stuff I made here. The chicken tenders for example was something I learned from her too. Same with the goulash and the french toast. She even taught me how to make homemade pesto too.

Been getting into making icecream. About one a week, never repeating flavours. Probably going to try Peach next but tempted to retry a coconut, Chili and lime one I made a while ago. Made the mistake last time of not letting the chili infuse into the coconut milk... ended up being coconut and lime with occasional intense heat bombs.....

NinChocolate

@skywake that sounds so good. I had chili flavored ice cream once in Germany of all places lol. Good luck with that next batch!

@NinChocolate You're welcome, I had no idea something like that existed. I think mom had something like this at one point, but it was plastic as oppose to actual stone. It certainly looks like the plastic one my mother had. Is it rough when washing it or using it to make salsa?

@Sunsy it does take a bit of effort to grind your veggies by hand instead of tossing everything into a blender, but the difference in texture and flavor is so great. And I think it’s fun to do too. The idea is that you want to make a paste using alliums such as garlic or onion, and other aromatics (chilies, herbs, spices, etc.). This presses the natural lipids in the food (the flavor parts) together to make flavor-rich compounds that can be added to other ingredients. It’s a developmental process that can’t take place in a blender that just dices everything. It’s a way to bring out the best flavors in your ingredients, so I think it’s worthwhile if you enjoy cooking

Tonight, made chicken tenders again, this time frying them since I have oil now. How I make these is beating two eggs, adding a bit of milk, romano cheese, parsley flakes, and some season salt. Dip the chicken in, and then cover them in bread crumbs (personally, I like the Italian seasoned ones). Fry or bake them with cooking spray, they're better than what you'd find in the frozen food aisle. Served with a side of boiled potatoes tonight.

Posting again to show how they look fried.

@NinChocolate Very cool, I didn't know this. I got to ask my mother if she ever did this. I didn't know the manual method did more for flavor. Guess I learned something new about cooking tonight. Thanks!

Pasta and meat sauce tonight. My meat sauce is basically onions sauteed in olive oil, ground beef browned, a jar of sauce, garlic powder, Romano cheese, and Italian seasoning. Currently I use jar sauce, but hoping to learn my mother's way of making sauce from scratch one day. Was a good dinner, had it with some fruit punch (also hope no one minds my Trolls dishware, I love this movie series).

Since @Snatcher asked, here's my meat sauce dish.

@NinChocolate Thank you, also, I asked mom about the grinding method, and she's actually done it before for other food.

@Snatcher Because dinner time! Thank you, also, while it's great with beef, I personally think it's even better when ground Italian sausage is used instead. Makes it on the tangier side.

NinChocolate

@Sunsy oh nice. I think I’m going to do pasta tomorrow myself

NinChocolate

Sunsy

@NinChocolate Enjoy, probably going to do the same to finish the leftover meat sauce. Personally, when it comes to meat sauce, I really like using ground Italian sausage too.

Tonight, we just had salmon. Didn't do anything special to it aside from frying it in a pan, and season it. It was a quick dinner. I like salmon with teriyaki sauce and white rice. It's one of the few seafood dishes I like.

Had a pretty good day today, so it called for some tonkatsu. Had some thin pork cutlets, so did this instead of frying them and seasoning them in a pan. Also have some leftover, so I have some for tomorrow night too.

@NinChocolate Both look great! Cool to see I'm not the only one who reuses sauce, I often will put meat sauce on my hot dog. It's kind of like a chili dog, but it's not chili. Sprinkled with some red pepper flakes.

@NinChocolate wow handmade blue corn tortillas hug? That's legit. I still haven't gotten Mexican food since the last time you posted a Mexican dish, unless you count chipotle lol.

Tonight I made some seared tuna steaks with sesame and soy sauce. On the side just some steamed veggies. I'm starting to Try and eat healthy, which is tough for a foodie like me.

NinChocolate

@Sunsy thanks! Great cutlets! Yes, as it’s just me to feed I often need to find ways to reuse a sauce and things like that so little gets wasted. Hot dog and meat sauce sounds like a treat.

@NintendoByNature I love doing tortillas. I even grind my own dried corn for dough when I can, but it’s a lot of work. Tuna steaks are so versatile!

NinChocolate

Sunsy

@NinChocolate Thank you. It's always good to have sauce as a leftover, usually with meat sauce, or even sauce with sausage or meatballs in it, it's pretty good as a leftover as the the meat sits in the sauce overnight. It is a treat, my grandpa did it, so I decided to start doing it too.
