Btw, I finished the Balbadd Arc in Magi, and honestly, if this show ended right here, I would probably recommended to everybody. The whole arc was just sublime, especially with the way it handled its characters and darker themes, and I loved the bittersweet ending.

Sadly it doesn't end there. Instead it goes on to another arc, which it filler ended so hard that it turned everyone off the show. I'll still watch it to see the damage, but the fans have been making it out like they ruined the entire show in two episodes to an irredeemable degree.

I wasn't aware that that was something that bothered you. I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm curious as to how you can watch so much anime when the vast majority have blood to some degree. Is it a, "it's fine unless there's an overwhelming amount of blood" kind of thing?

It bothers me all the time, but I can overlook it for some shows, and look away when I need to. However, if it's related to the story (i.e. the badguy is a vampire so you see him drink the blood) the squickiness level skyrockets. IIRC, the character is capable of manipulating blood. The very thought of someone having that capacity makes me feel faint.

It sounds to me that you suffer from Hemophobia. I never really thought about how fortunate I am that I am never bothered by blood, but all I can say is that I respect you for having to live day to day in a society that glorifies violence in film and media in general. It must really be rough sometimes to put up with that.

Can someone help me find an anime?
I remember i once saw an anime (pretty short-like 10-15 ep).. it was about a guy who had to fight different people to reach his goal. At a moment he fought one guy- a knight who had a creature in his belly (like a big worm) that didnt let him lose any battle/die, After that the knight told the main character how to help him kill that worm, but he couldnt live without it so he died.

Well, since it's Christmas time, I watched Tokyo Godfathers on Netflix, back on the 23rd. It was very good, and it was the first Kon film I've seen.

Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass

I seriously did not expect Hanasaku Iroha to be this good

The characterisation is excellent and feels natural and the initial slice-of-life episodes reinforce the characters brilliantly. I ended up identifying a lot with Ko because he was stuck with being nice to his love interest while she doesn't reciprocate his feelings - the lengths he went to made some of the scenes painful to watch. Plus the soundtrack and artwork is so wonderful, I really want to own the soundtrack but I'm afraid I'll get spoiled by the song titles (it would't be the first time that's happened, lol).

I guess my only complaint is that they really can't end their episodes. Sometimes they reach moments where it would make a lot of sense to end the episode, and then it goes on for another five minutes. When it does end, it's just a character saying a line and then the ED - there are no cliffhangers or proper resolutions, it just... cuts off.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Catgirls are beautiful creatures that need to be respected and loved, especially by human males. Do everyone a favor and keep kitty girls alive.

So...I watched some more anime.

  • Outbreak Company (Episode 11): So I talked about this a bit earlier in the week and...well, I have nothing to add. I'm not too hot on the execution of the new plot point, but I think it's extremely brilliant and justifies the premise of the series. Hopefully the next (and final) episode will maintain the weight of the drama and deliver well enough to have a positive lasting impression.
  • Samurai Flamenco (Episode 11): You know, I'm confused on what this series is trying to be. For the first few episodes it seemed that it was trying to praise the values of heroism as they applied to real life. Then for a small set of episodes the series seemed keen on criticizing those values and everybody who had a say on them. And now the show just seems to be a parody of Japanese hero shows. It seems that Samurai Flamenco has no clear direction it's heading, and that concern is diminishing my enjoyment of the series.
  • Kyousougiga (Episode 10): I'm continuing to like Kyousougiga, but I still think the series should have spent a bit more time elaborating on The Shrine/the events on episode 7. Otherwise, I'm completely fine with the series and I still consider it to be really good.
  • Log Horizon (Episode 12): I like how the series is splitting into two separate plots, although I will admit that I'm not a huge fan of how the "Newbie Training Camp" arc is taking up a bit too much time. Regardless, I'm digging that the series focuses on the politics and rules of the game world. I still recommend this over Sword Art Online.

No is not Blade of the Immortal.. i just watched that one last night
In Blade of the Immortal there ware some little insects in the blood, but in the other one there is a single big and long worm/snake-like creature wich was inside his whole belly (like a tenia i guess) and if i am not wrong it ate his guts.

You're in for a good time then So far the show has been very Ohana-focused although I do like the side characters a lot more than her. I actually thought the show would entirely ditch Ko! It was just the opening sequence which suggested that he might actually play a role. Aside from Ko, I like Nakochi, the grandmother and especially Tomoe. The episode revolving around Tomoe was hilarious!

Also, perhaps you're looking for Mangirl? It didn't seem that interesting when I saw it on Crunchyroll, but who knows, it could be great.

It's that time of year to start picking favorites. Anyone preparing their Anime Of The Year lists? I've got a good idea of what I want to put on my list, but I definitely won't be done until the end of this week.

As @V8_Ninja suggested, I guess I'll mention my favorite anime from this year (well, stuff I discovered this year anyhow. Don't think much, if any, of the stuff I saw was actually from this year).

Anime series:
1. Sword Art Online
2. Soul Eater
3. Naruto
4. One Piece!

Anime films/specials:
1. Neon Genesis Evangelion 1.11 & 2.22
2. Summer Wars
3. Little Witch Academia
4. Trigun: Badlands Rumble
5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa

Manga:
1. History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
2. Change 123
3. Puppet Master Genzo
4. Kagetora
5. Leona Explosion

(Just bear in mind, that #2 & #5 on my manga list are heavy on the fanservice, very intense in the case of #5)

Re-watches:
1. InuYasha (anime series)
2. InuYasha: Castle Beyond the Looking Glass (film)
3. Akira (film)
4. FLCL (anime series)

TWGOK is quickly becoming the best anime I've seen since Steins;Gate, and that says a lot since I loved Watamote but it was a bad time to watch it. I've seen too many depressing anime in the past year and a half, like even shonen can often be pretty sad and dark depending on the series but wow some of the series I've watched. And after Air and Angel Beats, I'm less interested in watching even good depressing anime (doesn't help that almost none of them can hope to be as good as Welcome to the NHK!). Honestly, Toonami saved anime from being too depressing, even after airing the Evangelion films.

But yeah, wow I didn't see how good this anime is coming. Probably in my top 10 anime if both this and the 2nd season can keep up the quality (which isn't saying as much as if I said the same about a video game but still...). I can highly recommend it to anyone.
