Well, a few weeks ago I watched a few animes and I'm getting to writing about them now. I watched Ghost Hunt, pretty good anime, creepy, good humor, and well thought out. The second to last case was especially creepy might I add. I watched Sands of Destruction, I liked it, good anime. I watched D.N Angel, good anime with a good plot and characters.

Well, I recently watched The Devil is a Part-Timer, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, My Teen Romantic Comedy is Wrong as I Expected, and Katanagatari, and am now watching Gurren Lagann.

Katanagatari personally is my favorite of the bunch though; that final episode was simply amazing. To anyone who hasn't seen it, it is set in ancient Japan, and is about the collection of 12 special swords called the Deviant Blades, which are needed to challenge the current shogunate and to prevent the creation of an alternate future. It also follows Shichika Yasuri, the main character who practices a martial art that doesn't use swords. Shichika's growth as a person throughout the series is one of the highlights.

I'll probably be watching Silver Spoon or Spice and Wolf next. Probably Silver Spoon more so because of all the good reviews I've read about it.

Sands of Destruction was one that I always felt would work better as an anime than a game.

How was DN Angel's ending? I've been meaning to finish it, but since I'm pretty sure it's a filler ending and the manga continues after that point, I'm not sure how satisfying of an ending it would be.

@Intrepid

I keep hearing good things about Katanagatari, and the trailer and OP are awesome, but my mind keeps thinking its related to the Monogatari series, which I'm not a fan of, so I keep forgetting to watch it.

@CanisWolfred The ending was good (if not a bit sad) and wraps up everything, definitely not filler. I have no idea how the manga would continue unless the anime and manga completely branch off from each other. Oh and what Gundam series would be the best one to start with?

I can finally watch Summer Wars. Thanks, Toonami! ^_^

Apparently they did diverge at some point. So much so that the anime version got its own Manga adaption.

As for Gundam, start with the first. Pretty much every Gundam series makes at least minor references to it. While by G-Gundam onwards, every series is separate and mostly self-contained, the UC gundams (which are the best Gundams anyways) all directly relate to the original. That's including the movies and OVAs, all of which are fantastic. In fact, if you don't want to watch a 38 episode series...well, you're watching the wrong series, since most series are longer than that. But anyways, the movie trilogy version of the original Gundam series is generally well-liked. I personally think it skims over important aspects of the story and character development, but for the most part the main story is left intact. I still don't think you get the same impact if you don't see the whole series, but if you just want the gist, it's more than fine. The last movie especially slows down and actually improves a few parts. It's the other two movies I'm not so fond of.

I watched Kiki's Delivery Service today, making it the 4th Ghibli movie I've seen.

...And? Did you like it? Did you dislike it? Was there anything notable about it at all?

I liked it, it wasn't the best movie i seen, but it was good, i really loved the cat. I didn't like that one kid that was trying to be all buddy buddy with Kiki, there was something that just didnt sit right with me about that guy

I am 4 episodes away from finishing Mushishi and it is my favorite anime that i have ever seen.Glad, that the one hr. special will be coming early next year( i think january)

Well I took some time off from One Piece and started, and finished the Keshin Escape Arc of Soul Eater in about a night...I really never made it that far before thanks to busyness, but now I might be able to finish it.

I'm positive I want to watch Toriko at some point, and Yu Yu Hakusho as well as Hunter X Hunter all look very appealing.

Fairy Tail....the art style, main character, and tone just remind me too much of my beloved One Piece to give it a fair go....but I might...someday.

Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass

I didn't watch any anime today, but I did watch a review of Voltage Fighter Gowkaiser, an anime I had already seen, via Anime Abandon. I couldn't remember anything about Gowkaiser, and I can see why...it just wasn't memorable. It was bad, but not terribly memorable bad. In fact, iif it weren't for this review pointing out all the mistakes and absurdity, I probably wouldn't have noted it as anything other than cliche and bland. Really, the reviewer made a lot of good points, though I'll admit, I have a much higher tolerance for Obari's art style than him (I'll admit, that has largely to do with me seeing Viper GTS and not seeing Angel Blade...and no, do not look those up). Sure, the outfits are rediculous and overfetishised, but that sits better with me than it would for other people. I don't have a problem with the lack of proper proportions either (for the most part...) seeing as no matter what, it's still a cartoon, which can be an exaggeration of the human form (granted, usually for humorous purposes, but still).

BTW, if anybody else watches Anime Abandon...or watches old anime in general and has even the slightest interest in watching Apacolypse Zero: Do not watch Apacolypse Zero. Or the AA review of it. It is a complete mind####, and it's pretty crappy in its own right. I'll be lucky if I don't have nightmares for the next two weeks, and I only saw edited, censored highlights...

Hey guys, remember Star Blazers?! Of course you don't! It's a series from the late 70's that most people either never watched, or it was so long ago they can't even remember it. Well, the people who own the rights to Star Blazers sure as hell remember it! Not only do they constantly rerelease and stream it as if it's the only show they own (oh wait, it is!), because they own the license, no one can show the original uncut version of Space Battleship Yamato, the show they butchered to make Star Blazers (yes, it's one of those shows).

And now this happened. Basically, they got ahold of the remake to Space Battleship Yamato, known as Space Battleship Yamato 2199, and calling it Star Blazers 2199. While the trailer they have on their website shows that they're leaving it mostly intact (why did they bother changing the ship's name for a subbed title? He's specifically saying "Yamato", they're not fooling anyone by calling it the "Argo"), but they're releasing it in 6 sub-only parts, for $35 per 4-episode part on DVD, and $45 for every Blu-Ray part. Oh, except the last part, which will cost a premium. No extra frills or anything with any of these parts as far as we know. Just $200+ for the most barebones releases spread out over the course of a year. Not even Aniplex overcharges that badly...

Now, this wouldn't be a problem if Yamato 2199 wasn't that good, but unfortunately, it's easily one of the best sci-fi shows in years, regardless of medium. I was hoping somebody would pick it up, but I was also hoping it would be something I could afford. You know, like $50-$100 at most for the whole series. Not that I'll be buying it, not from those guys, not as "Star Blazer 2199".

They never said the price for the last one, but yes, even if it cost the same as the rest, it would still cost well over $200 just for all 6 DVDs, and Blu-Ray of course cost way more.

not that bad but still bad. they found a way to be more overpriced than Videogames are in Brazil...
