I just finished Gundam seed & destiny and it was amazing. It had a good plot, likable characters (minus shin imo) and a decent amount of action. My only problem was that i wish Hein had gotten more screen time, but whatever. Though the reason I don't like shin is because I feel that he constantly plays victim. Also the Strike Freedom = epic / awesome, that and Kira was my favorite character. I might try to get back into one piece but, that episode count is intimidating. That or i'll start watching gundam unicorn.

I think it's pretty much an established fact that Shin is a terrible character. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed SEED. though I'm a little surprised you liked Destiny so much as well. Not that I think it isn't enjoyable, just...a lot of it is a rehash of Gundam SEED as well as Zeta Gundam, both of which I found to have done those elements much better. Even a lot of Shin's Terribleness seemed to be a mix of Kira and Kamille, except unlike both characters, Shin became worse instead of better. Also, no mention of Durandal? He was the best part of Destiny, IMO.

I'm glad you said they had "a decent amount of action", since IMO, the action was one of the lesser components of both series, though there was plenty of it. It was nice eye candy, but most of it was pretty weak with no care for detail like in previous series and even 00 (notice how nearly every shot hits a mobile suit straight in the middle, thus always blowing them to bits?), and there were far too many repeated animations (especially in SEED Destiny), so it all those scenes got boring pretty quick to me.

I recommend going with Gundam Unicorn only if you've seen at least Char's Counterattack, if not a lot/all of the UC Gundam anime. But if you have, you'll be in for one helluva ride.

BTW, if you have the time and an interest in Manga, check out the Gundam SEED Astray manga. They're easily the best thing to happen to the SEED universe.

@CanisWolfred Durandal slipped my mind, but he was one of the better characters. Also I've lost count of how many scenes have the same animation but a different background. I'll check out the things you mentioned, since i have nothing but time today. Now if you excuse me i have manga and anime to read/watch.

Read the newest chapter of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi today!

SPOILERS

Shigure continues to fight the mysterious person from her past (with some back story revealed), while Kenichi & the gang watch while Yami's operation starts effecting the world, with military units from around the world disappearing (joining Yami).

Also managed to catch the Secret World of Arrietty on TV. It's not the best Ghibli movie I've seen, but it was charming & animated beautifully.

I finished Death Note about two weeks ago, great anime, my second favorite. Light Yagami is one my favorite protagonists and is my favorite villain out of everything.
HEAVY SPOILERS HEAVY SPOILERS I absolutely hated the ending though, it was stupid Light should have won. He was smarter than Near and Mellow. Seriously, they set up the perfect ending for the series in episode 36, Near and everyone else was about to have a heart attack and then Light was going to rule the world as a god, I was pretty excited. Then they ruined everything and made Light die. It was horrible to see him die like that, I almost cried at the end. HEAVY SPOILERS HEAVY SPOILERS

Honestly, I've heard a lot of people having problems with the ending of Death Note, but not one of them didn't want Yagami to die as far as I recall. The man 100% deserved it.

Since I've been so into my rewatch of the series on Toonami, I decided to rewatch one of the InuYasha movies on YouTube last night!

I was going to start with the first, but I couldn't find a good version of it, so I opted for the second instead (which is fine, since it's easily my favorite ).

And it was all Teru Mikami's fault.

I just started reading Ping, my first Korean manga.

I'm kind of mixed on it right now, though.

On one hand the story is something I like, with ancient martial arts organizations acting in the shadows of the modern world, and the action has been pretty solid, too.

On the other hand, I know nothing of the Korean language, meaning it's hard for me to imagine the sound effects (unlike the Katakana used in Japanese manga, which I can follow well enough). I know this sounds silly, but I also have a hard time following all the names. I've been familiarized with how Japanese names flow for a long time now, so it's not very hard for me to remember the names in a Japanese manga, but I'm like three or four chapters in here, and can't even remember the main character's name. Also, I know this sounds even more silly, and I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling I'm reading an imitation or something. It just doesn't feel as "genuine" as pretty much any Japanese manga I've read (maybe it's just the art style, cultural differences, or what, it just doesn't feel the same).

I'll still give it some more time, though.

I haven't watched anime in such a flippin' long time >_<.
So I started watching the dub of Good luck girl (Binbougami Ga I'm pretty sure.)
And I actually like this dub. I think I'm gonna enjoy this one.

@Jaz007
You...you wanted Light to win...?

@RR 529
Technically it's manhwa....

So how is everyone doing? It might be a bit of a shame but my taste in anime the past few weeks has been pretty much exclusively One Piece...I really should pick up from where I was on Kill la Kill, Diamond no Ace, and even Soul Eater which I haven't watched in forever. I remember back a few months ago when I had an enormous list of anime to watch...I still do. But One Piece just...kinda completely satisfies me ATM.

Read the newest chapters of Bleach!

SPOILERS

After releasing her full power, that Quincy girl kicked Captain Shinji Hirako's butt. Captain Komamura stepped up though to fight her.

It's revealed that he used a secret technique to shed his fox appearance (to look human), which for some reason makes him & his Bankai stronger. At which point he begins to crush her.

SPOILERS END

At this point I just want Ichigo to show up & save the day, because we all know that's what's going to happen (this is like DBZ's Nappa/Vegeta fight all over again).

@Rocko52 Yeah, I definitely wanted Light to win. I'm a big fan of Light, I fully supported him in Death Note, he's just plain awesome. I really like him. He was a great change of pace for a protagonist. I wish Near would die for what he did.

^Why, because he was trying to expose a serial killer? That's something Near should be commended for.

Just because Light's murder weapon was a magical notebook, rather than a gun or knife, doesn't make his actions any less criminal.

Because he caused Light's death, which is a big problem. Opposing him is already a problem. I never said Light was a good guy, just that I supported him fully. Not becaue he's in the right, but becaue he's amazing and one of the best characters there is.
