There's ads, and then there's more ads than what you're sucepted to on TV, all of which deal with the most inane crap nobody cares about. Why do I care about Toilet paper when I'm watching an anime, and why do you have to show me the same ad 3 times during the same episode?! Gah! And why offer 3 different choices for ads when they're all the same product?! Then you're just wasting even more of my time when I'm watching a climactic battle unfold, cmon!!!
Yeah, I can't stand ads, especially on Hulu, which makes it even worse when there are so damn many of them! Gah!!!
L33T Hulu Tip; Every ad should have a "Is This Ad Relevant To You?" box. During long commercials (30-90 seconds), always hit the "No" response. During short commercials (less than 30 seconds), always hit the "Yes" response. This will create a bias in the ad-choosing formula where the shorter commercials are always shown and the longer commercials are nowhere to be seen. Admittedly I haven't been using Hulu lately, so I can't vouch for whether the trick still works. But trust me when I say that it saved a ton of time when binging on particular shows.

Crap, I've just been hitting the no button on all of them...
You might be able to reset the formula if you delete all of you browser history relating to Hulu.com. Of course, I'm not an expert on how it all works, so what I may be suggesting right now is totally wrong. I only know the L33T Hulu Tip, not how it works.

Alright, let's discuss two anime series that I finished;
Kokoro Connect: I'm split on this series. On one hand, it handles some topics surprisingly well and it's a neat show with neat premises. On the other, it focuses WAY too much on the female cast and the short run-time feels counterproductive to the slower plot it's trying to set up. At its best it's an interesting character-focused show and at its worst it's a mixed bag.
Watamote: Overall, this was a strangely enjoyable comedy. It's so bizarre that the writer clearly has some sort of familiarity with the material. As for the ending, I'm fine with the conclusion but not necessarily the methods used to achieve that conclusion. It seems like nothing has changed at all. I understand that this is a comedy and story is not the strong suit, but some sort of development would have been nice.

Yeah, I was totally split on Kokoro Connect too. I liked how the male lead wasn't just a soft spoken nice guy or a jerk with a heart of gold, but something completely different. The characters were all written well so the plot felt human and unpredictable. The last arc of the 13 episode series though I felt lost a lot of steam, and so I haven't checked out what happens in the OVA.
Well, that and the whole scandal thing - even though the internet backlash was largely undeserved, it's weird to watch a show which promotes friendship and generosity when you discover that the creators didn't have much of either.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

I kinda agree, but mostly because unless the story and dialogue are allowed to overshadow it, I've gotten sick of anime ending with the opening theme in some lame attempt to make it feel more complete. Her casually accepting her status for no real reason also was kinda lame.
I already would have...if it weren't for Crunchyroll locking new videos behind a 7-day waiting period. I understand that Crunchyroll has to do that to entice people into buying premium memberships so that the company can continue to operate, but the wait does get aggravating when they simulcast a show I'm particularly hyped for.
Moving On: I finished The World God Only Knows: Goddesses and I'm surprised by the ending. I didn't expect it to be so unfortunate, especially when the majority of the series was comedy-focused.

Not anime related news but its an anime network news: Just heard Chikara events are gonna start airing on Neon Alley. Chikara is a american indie wrestling promotion but there storylines are very much influenced by comics and there wrestling style is a mix of lucha and Japanese puroresu.
Super pump for this. ^_^
Oh really? When I still paid attention to wrestling regularly, I knew people who swore up and down that Chikara was pure fun and what I've seen is kind of amazing.
