So apparently Toonami will finally be airing FLCL soon. Works for me! I only saw it once all in a row on AS years ago, but it was probably one of the most fun experiences I've had watching anime.

Wonder what's getting the boot, then? It's one of their back catalogue shows (as in, they've held the rights to it, & shown it recently before starting Toonami, like Bebop & InuYasha), so it'll probably be replacing a show on the back end.

My guess would be Bebop or IGPX. (although I suppose Big O is a possibility as well)

Ah, it appears that they'll (Toonami) be showing two episodes of IGPX on Oct. 19 (foregoing Clone Wars for the week), that way IGPX, Big O, & Bebop will end on that same week.

The next week, IGPX will be replaced with FLCL, Big O with GitS, & Bebop with IGPX.

Although there's a rumor going around that FLCL is just a placeholder for a new show altogether. As it would be on directly after SAO, if there were to be a 6th premiering show added, that's where it'd fall (and apparently, they've used the FLCL name as a placeholder before, while hiding a new show). Backing the theory, is that FLCL is just too short to maintain ratings after an initial run.

Finished up 20th Century Boys (and 21st) and it was a hoot! Perhaps not the greatest literary work ever written, as the internet so helpfully described, but a masterfully planned mystery thriller nonetheless. I just wish the translators didn't get so hostile to the plot in the credits pages :/

I then jumped into Muhyo and Rouji which reminded me a lot of Mushishi. Now I'm reading Mushishi again, and rediscovering its greatness! I swear, everyone planning on becoming a doctor should be forced to read Mushishi.

And @RR529 I remember FLCL being a staple before the cancellation of the first Adult Swim block. Even though it's six episodes long, it's a fan favourite.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Finished chapter 550 of Bleach!

Decent chapter altogether. Mayuri has entered a confrontation, while Soi Fon & Toshiro continue theirs (Toshiro looks to be in the biggest pickle. The enemies (which I won't mention, to avoid spoilers) are loosing their coolness factor though, IMO.

Also finished the last two parts of Dominion Tank Police! I don't think I liked them quite as much as the first two, but they were still fun watches (also, is New Dominion Tank Police any good?)

Oh yeah, I've been with AS for a long time (at least since the summer of 2004, staying up late to catch Bebop & InuYasha), and I love FLCL. While I do enjoy FLCL though, AS seems to have a much faster pace when it comes to Toonami's lineup (as in even when it comes to old shows, they usually don't play them more than twice to keep fresh), so FLCL would seem like an odd addition considering their current philosophy.

TL;DR - As a promise to the fans (and to help ratings), they don't replay shows much in order to keep the block from becoming stagnant, but due to FLCL's length, they'll either have to play through it many times (going against their current philosophy), or replace it quickly.

I would personally love to see it again, though.

By the end, Light is definitely the antagonist.

I always thought Light was the Antagonist though whole time, once L was introduced.

As for New Dominion Tank Police, I've not seen it, but apparently it's good stuff, too, just maybe a tad worse than the prequel.

Anyways, so apparently Tomino, Creator of Gundam, has a new Mecha project in the works. This project, along with the adaption of Gundam: The Origin, are both set to release in 2014 or 2015, just in time for the 35th Aniversary of Gundam. I'm hoping both wind up being full-fledged series, because there's a lot from Gundam: The Origin that I'd like to see, and as for Tomino's project, he tends to work better with longer series. He's an idea man, and he needs the time to be able to impliment those ideas naturally (or as close as he can get at any rate). I think that's why he hasn't had a good release since Turn A Gundam - they were all too short!

With Gundam: The Origin, Broken Blade's new adaption, the finale of Gundam UC, the continuation of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, and now Tomino's project, the next two years look like they may be very good to Mecha fans.

Oh yes, and speaking of Akito the Exiled, here's a nice song from it:

L is the antagonist. Light is the protagonist. The protagonist can be the worst human being on earth, the roles have nothing to do with good and evil. It's simply the central character, the protagonist, and the main opposing character, the antagonist.

Light is more of a lead character though, the series is more about him than it is L though. The show has things shown from Light's perspective more than it does L's perspective. The show introduces Light as the protagonist and then L as the antagonist and maintains that. I haven't seen L thought of as the protagonist before, just Light, even if they hate Light's guts and absolutely love L's.

The protagonist generally does "right."

Also L gets pretty equal time as @CanisWolfred said. I think they're both presented initially as two characters for the audience to side with depending on their individual views, however, by the end Light is clearly the villain.

@Rocko52 The protagonist normally does right, but that doesn't make someone a protagonist, it's just someone that usually happens, but has nothing to with being a protagonist. The protagonist can be the villian or hero. Light is the villian in Death Note, but that doesn't change his protagonist status. Getting as much attention for a bit in a story doesn't just change who the protagonist is either.

Yeah. You know, I love the fact that not one One Piece opening I've seen is bad. Usually I don't watch any openings other than the first in a series before I start watching and get to the next, as openings can be spoilers, but I just love One Piece's/

I wasn't a fan of Openings 9 and 12, IIRC. But they still weren't bad, so you're right.

I don't like Crazy Rainbow Star, The Straw Hats version of We Are!, or Opening 12.
I used to not be a fan of One Day, but it's grown on me.

Haven't heard those. Only 1,2,3,4,10,14, and 15. Love them. I also like the dubs.

Not True at all. Walter White is the main character of Breaking Bad he's a pretty horrible human being.
