I just figured that their forum goers (and I'd assume biggest fans) would be happy to see AS anime going from death's bed to having 5 currently premiering shows...
I know the rants of a group of people on the internet aren't exactly indicative of the block's actual ratings (which I'd imagine are doing well, considering the block's growth), but still, the comments don't instill confidence.
I guess I'm just an optimist, as I'm just thankful that anime on AS is finally growing instead of shrinking, and wouldn't dream of complaining about the shows that are making it happen, as long as it happens, and I can't imagine why an anime fan would do otherwise.
Also, I don't think the shows are all that bad right now, anyways. Bleach, while a bit meh lately, hasn't been terrible (except for maybe the Karakuraiser episode). Naruto is decent. One Piece is good & only getting better. Soul Eater & Sword Art Online are both great, IMO.
Even if they're airing a show I'm not particularly into (like Casshern Sins or Samurai 7), I still watch to support the block, especially knowing they'll be replaced once completed, hopefully with something I'll like (and they've held steadfast onto their promise of getting a new show as soon as one ends).
End useless random rant/
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Honestly, any official board like AS' forums can be pretty bad. That's why they call them "the vocal minority". Hopefully Adult Swim just lets the ratings speak for themselves.
I only know of the positively terrible ova and movie that came out in, like, 1999 or something. I do know there's a full series that came out in 2007-ish, but I don't know if it's any better since the manga never ended.
I don't remember being that terrible? Then again, I was like 5 when it came out. -_-
Going to start to read it from the beginning and just realize that is pretty bloody and gory then most series I have seen and read. I heard the series finally ended? (since it was on hiatus for a long time)
I'm not sure, but it looks like it's still ongoing.

Why hello there .
I just decided to pop in because skip beat chapter 204 was FINALLY translated and updated today, and I haven't been here in forever x3.
And here are my thoughts~
...I'm tired of all of this back and forth in this manga xD.
Since January every chapter has been either 3/4 random text that somewhat has meaning, but once the next chapter comes it really wasn't necessary and just suuuuper slow progression on this relationship I mean seriously!
Seriously Kyoko make up your mind. Pali pali, I'm waiting!
But at least something happened in this chapter. It wasn't much but hey, I still bother to continue reading this manga hoping there will be a good outcome. All I'm waiting for now is a second season of the anime :3.

I feel like it's gonna take me an eternity to force myself to slog through Angel Beats. If it wasn't for the comedy and random bits of girl rock it would be Air all over again and I don't think I could survive that.
Lately, FUNimation seems to very quietly add something to Netflix's instant selection every week or so; I could've sworn Welcome to the NHK wasn't there the other day.
Tried to watch Sgt. Frog subbed last night, and it just couldn't hold my attention at all. I know SF is slow to get going, but even the English Dub actually tried to be funny. I watched 1 and a half episodes, and the script was drier than a desert - perverted vacuum scene aside, there were barely any jokes to speak of. For a comedy, it wasn't even trying to be funny! I was only doing it to get used to the voices before I tried to watch the Movies, which I know will be much more interesting, but I'm kinda losing the enthusiasm.

guess I should read before posting, someone tried before!

going to watch Keroro Gunsou(sergeant frog), hope it is good!
Watch it in dubbed English. Trust me on that...it still takes until I think episode 7 to really get good, but even the first 6 episodes should still be amusing if you watch it dubbed. And then from episode 13-on it's just a never ending barrel of laughter.
@CanisWolfred - I can understand that. Compared to the dub, the early sub episodes pale in comparison. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the dub (I was somewhere in Season 2 or 3), so I had to pick up with the sub. It seems better now, though I'm not sure if it's better subbing or if I've just grown more attached to the characters. Plus, not all subs are created equal. Still, I miss the dub.
Your true face... What kind of... face is it? I wonder... The face under the mask... Is that... your true face?
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is. -Winston Churchill
I guess I'm used to watching subbed already, the weird voices didn't affect me...

Huh? The voices are the least of the problems. It's really the dry writing that kills the subbed version. The dub is a total rewrite, and it's way funnier.
BTW, I just watched the first Sgt. Frog movie and while it got sort of entertaining towards the end, it really wasn't that funny or interesting either. I remember it being a lot better...

well, I'm not sure how bad it is... Portuguese(BR) subs are all too similar to know if they are right or not....

^ You guys discuss about shows, I have never heard of. You must really love anime?
Meanwhile you've talked about shows I've never heard of. I know Sgt. Frog is fairly popular around here, but I don't know if anyone here recognizes Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero or even half of those OVAs you brought up a while back (I really should watch Boah sometime, though!)?
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: I should be into this more than I am. It's been a bit predictable here and there. "Death Note in space" this is not (yet, am on episode 10).
How did I miss this? First off, it's definitely not "Death Note in Space". Because somparing it to Death Note would be a grave insult to the intelligence of the show. Secondly, it's slow to start, but by episode 20 it really comes into its own.

I wasn't trying to be rude. -_-
I like a few anime shows, like the ones I grew up with Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam Wing, Rurouni Kenshin, etc. Not a fan of the popular ones (like today). So I like to watch shows somebody rarely or never even heard of. And, you should watch Boah.
