@rocko52 - I still feel like a noob on the anime forum I go to, so of course I still see you as a noob. But don't let it get to ya, most of us are noobs here.
As for One Piece, I wouldn't be surprised if they did that with Brook (even though he's already dead...)
It ended right when Kenichi beat his childhood friend thus vanquishing the Ragnarok gang.
Yay! someone else who is into it!
So, have you only seen the anime, or are you reading the manga (if so, how far are you)?
As for the anime, I've seen the first two episodes on YouTube (Funimation has them up), but was a bit disappointed because despite being a 50-something episode show, it's clear it didn't get the same kind of production costs & love shows like FMA:B or Soul Eater got. It kind of looks like one of those early 2000's anime, just in HD...

Yeah, I was gonna bring up that I saw some of the anime and it looked SO mediocre and effortless and tbh, that was my impression of every single aspect of it.
It seems your standard is the ulta-hardcore Otakus, and yes while we are all noobs to them I guess, I really don't think of the majority here as "noobs" seeing as they have watched tons of shows, you yourself stated that you've seen well over 100.
Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass

More than half of which were through Toonami/Adult Swim alone. Trust me, you don't necessarily have to be very hardcore to have seen most of the more popular anime out there. To me, you're not a noob wheb you're actively searching, on your own, anime that you've never heard of and weren't available on U.S. broadcast. Maybe I'm not a noob, but honestly, I only watch what people there have recommended me, either directly or indirectly. It's been forever since I watched something without at least hearing positive input from, like, 10 people beforehand...
Finished up chapter 475 of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi!
SPOILERS
Kenichi & Sakaki travel to Tidat in search of Miu, and while Kenichi is getting used to travelling around a 3rd world country for the first time (i.e. dealing with pickpockets), Sakaki is beating the crap out of mercenaries, looking for info on Junezard's location.
His methods attract the nation's princess, who is in hiding because Junezard has embroiled the country in civil war (he saved it once, but bored of peace time, has created civil unrest), at which point the princess is in hiding in a dilapidated old palace, with a few not very loyal mercenaries guarding her (amongst them is the seemingly incompetent fat American, John). They team up with her in order to find Junezard.
They eventually learn that Junezard was last heard to have been in his home village, so set out. Meanwhile, Miu is falling even deeper into the depths, as Junezard manipulates her memory & feelings.
Kenichi & the others find the village, but it has been abandoned & burned down recently, although Kenichi finds Miu's hair pins, so his resolve is strengthened.
On the way back, they notice that the princess' palace is aflame, and Junezard's group appears to be to blame! Sakaki (and Akira Hongo, who shows up suddenly) battle his forces, while Kenichi notices the brainwashed Miu battling for the other side.
When he confront's her, she attacks him, with Junezard watching. He hopes that she will kill Kenichi, as that will finalize his plan of "killing" her heart. Fearing that Sakaki & Hongo will interrupt his plan, he instead kidnaps Kenichi, planning on making them fight in his lair.
Hope seems to be lost, since Sakaki & the others don't know where to follow Junezard, but luckily, John got himself kidnapped as well (trying to chase after them), and he had a GPS tracker on him. Sakaki & the others then set out for the rescue.
Back at his lair, Junezard pits Kenichi & Miu against each other once again. Despite doing everything he can to try & get through to her (including something perverted to shock her), she doesn't break out of her trance, and beats him near death.
She's showing some restraint, though, and doesn't seem to be able to inflict the finishing blow. Angered by the fact that Kenichi may have affected her, Junezard sends out a near master level giant assassin to kill them both (only if Miu survives, will she be worth being his disciple). While he heads out to deal with Sakaki & Hongo, whom have broken in.
The battle between the three starts out hectic, as while Kenichi is focusing his attention on saving Miu from the assassin, the brainwashed Miu is attacking both the assassin & Kenichi indiscriminately, as is the assassin (targeting both Kenichi & Miu equally). After a particularly brave attempt at protecting Miu, Kenichi's actions finally break through, as Miu regains who she is, and the two are able to defeat the assassin together. Afterwards, Miu faints.
Kenichi (carrying the fainted Miu) runs across Junezard's thugs while trying to escape, but is in no condition to oppose them! Luckily, he is saved by... the seemingly inept John! It looks like he has broken out of imprisonment, and knows some kick butt martial arts!? Ridding himself of the disguise, "John" reveals that he's Miu's father (making his first appearance of the series). He thanks Kenichi for protecting Miu, and says he trusts him, before disappeading just as quickly & mysteriously as he appeared. Afterwards, Sakaki meets up with Kenichi.
Meanwhile, the battle between Akira Hongo & Junezard gets underway! Despite being an even match for Sakaki, Hongo can't quite seem to be on par with Junezard no matter how hard he tries. The battle is intense, to the point that a tower collapses due to the brawl, but in the end, it appears Junezard is victorious, as he pierces Hongo's gut...
Hongo used a technique to raise all his vital organs into his rib cage however, and strikes back at Junezard! The battle continues, with Hongo's strategy getting more erratic & dangerous, and after coming back from the brink of death a second time, he impales Junezard with his ultimate technique! Is this truely the end!?
I finished Gash Bell! it was kind of a common ending but it was really well done!

Lol, those are the same youtube anime reviewers I'm subscribed to. Ever tried JesuOtaku? She's from TGWTG.com , if you don't know what that is think Nostalgia Critic or 5 Second Films.

I care about as much about random people on youtube's opinions on anime as I do their opinions on games.
...Which is to say I don't care about them at all.
That said, I do find Bennett the Sage's Anime Abandon segment to be highly entertaining, at least when he's reviewing a sucky anime (which is 90% of the time). Also, Y Ruler of Time's Read Right to Left feature is responsible for introducing me to Toriko, though I recommend sticking to the weirder manga. You'll know which ones those are...
Also, I don't really like JesuOtaku unless she's with Sage or someone else, since her reviews are way too dry most of the time. It's mostly just the facts and her plain opinion, she doesn't really put on much of a show and the shows she watch are rarely old or obscure, so it's stuff that I could easily find more trustworthy opinions on than hers.
Just finished up chapter 500 of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi!
SPOILERS
Hongo wins! Junezard is dead, and finally, peace for Tidat... or not. It looks like his death has just fractured the factions vying for power even more!
Luckily, the elder shows up with Jeihan in tow (Tidat's crown prince, and the former Yomi disciple that Kenichi beat, then was thought to have died in an avalanche). With his appearance, the nation unifies once more, and the arc comes to a close.
The next bit of the series sees Kenichi & the gang getting back to regular life, but Kenichi's masters see it as a calm before the storm.
Behind the scenes, in Yami, "Kensei" Ogata Isshingai has revealed that he has built up two other Ragnorok-like organizations, with their strongest fighters joining Ryuuto (Ragnorok's Ex-First Fist) in Yomi.
Kenichi's masters believe they have discovered "Kensei's" whereabouts, so they storm his hideout. Meanwhile "Kensei's" 4 Disciples (and newest members of Yomi) have been revealed (Ryuuto, Rimi, Berserker, & Lugh), and they confront Kenichi & friends!
Lugh steps up, and after plowing through Siegfried & Thor, he comes face to face with Takeda! Takeda is able to fight better, but is still at the disatvantage to the mysterious fighting style of Lugh. It turns out that Lugh is blind, and in addition to using a more complex counter method than Siegfried, he can also sense his opponent's vibrations, movements & ki. The fight isn't able to come to a close, however, as "Kensei's" disciples have to be off. Also, Kenichi's masters couldn't find "Kensei".
It appears that the final battle between disciples is drawing near though, as Yomi's members have all been gathered, and have been ordered to use Kenichi & the gang as "fodder" in order to improve their martial arts.
Kenichi & the gang are having a good time at the pool, and while it seems fun at first, when the sun goes down, the place goes dead, and they find themselves face to face with Yomi!

The low level soul reapers cheer Toshiro & Rangiku on as they have apparently beaten Buzz-B.
Meanwhile B62 (or something stupid like that) is beating the crap out of Omaeda, trying to find out where Soi Fon is. Frustrated that Omaeda doesn't have the info he's looking for, B62 slices a near by building in half, revealing that he has Omaeda's little sister (who was hiding) impaled.
Angered, Omaeda attacks, but isn't able to damage the Quincy. B62 then pulls out a friggin' Gatling gun, but after a thunderous bang, it's revealed that it's been cut in half, with Soi Fon holding the front part.
She makes a quip about being glad this Quincy isn't a bow using savage, and then activates her Shunko (her energy looks like butterfly wings), thanking B62 for stealing her Bankai during their last encounter, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to perfect this technique. She then attacks him with a tremendous force!
Back with Toshiro & Rangiku, it's been revealed that Buzz-B hasn't been hurt much by the last attack, and B62 is still standing after Soi Fon's attack. These fights aren't over yet!
