Some stuff I've been watching:
Sword Art Online - Episode 5. I'm waiting for it to get interesting, like episode 1 was. It's so boring right now. The art makes it bearable.
Day Break Illusion - Episode 5: I admit it's not great but I find it's underrated compared to other summer anime titles.
Attack on Titan - Episode 15: I'm surprised how much I like this show... I love the characters.
Hyperdimension Neptunia - Episode 6: ...Watching for the plot.
Free! - Episode 7: ...Also watching for the plot.
Watamote - Episode 6: It's okay, I guess. Although episode 4 was pretty funny. However, I don't understand how the anime is so "relatable".

Say what now?

Well...I can't help but feel I'd be repeating myself if I recommend anything as I've seen barely 10 anime. I'd recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion, Trigun, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Lucky Star, Bleach, and Soul Eater.

Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass

Watch Ghost Stories dubbed. You'll thank me later.
You could also go for a classic show, like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, or Great Teacher Onizuka.

Best thread ever

@DarkNinja9, for newer series, I'd recommend Soul Eater, Sword Art Online, Gundam 00, Deadman Wonderland or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. As for classics, I'd recommend Rurouni Kenshin, InuYasha, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yu Yu Hakusho, G Gundam, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, or Eureka 7.

I'm liking the Bleach manga much more than the anime. Bushido Sixteen is a great story of friendship that has literally no objectionable content from what I remember. Genzo Hitogata Kiwa was a bit dark (and it had occasional fanservice), but it still had interesting stories. Change 123 was a fun martial arts manga, but it has boatload of fanservice. I'm currently reading History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, which is turning out to be an interesting & funny martial arts story.

@RR529 thanks I already have some bleach volumes here! I'll try bushido sixteen(I know it's wrong to judge like this but the name is really cool! )

I would recommend reading Katekyo hitman reborn, zatch bell, or Negima

Kateyo hitman reborn is my favorite already! I like zatch bell but never got to finish it. but never heard about negima(I'm used to search for anime/manga that are not so much known then I end letting some really popular ones slip, and some of genres I'm not used to sometimes fail to get my attention too...)

Zatch Bell was so awsome you should finish it. Negima has alot of fan service but the story's good. Also I recommend Rosario+Vampire just the manga though cuz the anime sucks (the manga hardly has any fan service compared to the anime, it's a little more serious and it has more action).

Besides the already recommended, I could suggest you watch RWBY it's really interesting so far but the episodes are only like 5-7 minutes long XD here's the link to the first episode.

You can find the rest of the episodes on roosterteeth.com

@ELI-ASH thanks! I'll try this one soon too(once again for the wrong motive of liking the manga's name )

Finished up chapter 100 of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi earlier today! It's still going pretty good.

Hope they finish up with this whole Ragnorok business soon. Getting kinda tired of them battling a glorified school delinquent group, and want them to move onto something bigger.
