Bleach - Um, did they just pump out a random episode of filler, during the MIDDLE of the big fight with the big series villain!?! I mean, yeah, it was pretty humorous for what it was, but that has to be the poorest timing I've ever seen for filler, even by Bleach standards.
Naruto - The test is over, and boy was it a nail biter! Now it looks like the real fun is going to begin!
One Piece - OMG, this has to be the most I've ever laughed during an anime ever (in a good way, a very good way). From the first appearance of the sea monkeys, to all the goofy long animals (especially the bit with the dog), to the grandiose entrance of the Foxy Pirates, I genuinely laughed my head off! The art style wasn't nearly as jarring as I initially thought, either. In fact, I actually kinda liked it. It came off looking reminiscent of a Ghibli style to me, just a bit stylized to look "sketched". My skepticism has so far been written off, and I'm eagerly awaiting next week's episode (this episode seemed to fly by, which is a very good sign).
Soul Eater - Uh oh, this guy has a red tatoo and is immortal!?! When did this become FMA? Seriously though, the fight was getting good (he's actually a wolf man, BTW), but a thunderstorm knocked out our cable before it ended
In fact, our cable (including internet) only now came back, so I missed IGPX & Eureka 7 as well.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 Those kind of fillers pop up again actually. I remember at least two episodes where a random filler ep comes on right before the end of a fight. It really annoyed me.
Is Blue Exorcist any good as a Manga? It seemed like it had potential, but I didn't even finish the anime...
Comparing the first few episodes and the first vol. of the manga (the only vol. I've read) the anime seems to be more dragged out than the manga. Make of that what you will.
While the art seems unique enough that I WANT it to grab my attention, it often times makes me disintrested. I also care little about any of the characters or their flaws, which there seems to be a plethora of. I can't even bring myself to read it, I just skim it. As much as I rag on Bleach, it's at least interesting enough that I'll read it. I can't say the same for Blue Exorcist.
Episode 7 of Attack on Titan was amazing, all of them have been. I'm in no position to say this, as I'm only watching 2 current/new/2013 animes, but this is shaping up to be the year's best IMO.
@caniswolfred
I know you said the titans freak you out, but...but damn you're missing out on a hell of a show! This is a must watch anime!
Watched the first episode of Cuticle Detective Inaba. It was as fun and silly as I'd hoped. It's on the cusp of being a bit too crazy/random/not-funny, so we'll see how the next couple of episodes go. I know it's only 12 episodes, so hopefully it'll be the first anime in almost a year that I actually finish (excluding Wooser, since that was a bunch of 5-minute shorts). In fact, something silly like this should be much easier to watch with my current schedule.
