Any chance you've seen Tenchi Muyo (any series) or perhaps even Martian Successor Nadesico?
Or Bombshells From The Sky, Negima?!, Infinite Stratos, Ichigo 100% (Strawberry 100%), or Tears to Tiara?
Or He is My Master, Love Hina, or Rosaio + Vampire?

And has anyone else here seen Irresponsible Captain Tylor? It's one of the best anime comedies I've seen, with enough story to keep me going, and a lot of humor I actually found funny (though still some cringe-worthy idiocy to keep it from being perfect). 'Course, I also liked the characters, especially Tylor. I couldn't tell if that guy was a complete idiot or a total genius. Loved it.

yup i watched love hina hard to get into at first hated that one character so bad -_- but it was alright rosario vap was nice least story wise and tenchi muyo was ok didnt know there were different versions o.O the one i saw didnt seem to have a ending to it

That's the original Tenchi Muyo. Try Tenchi Universe, it's ever better, and has an ending. That said, Our tastes don't match at all, so take that with a grain of salt. Personally, I thought Love Hina and Rosario + Vampire were terrible. I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes of them. In fact, something tells me you'd be more likely to enjoy He Is My Master, another show I can't stand.

I thought all the middle shows were either okay, or bad but not terrible. Might be worth a look. Not sure if I can recommend Nadesico. It's a lot like Tenchi Muyo, the first one.

lol not at all i actually checked the animes you mentioned and added Negima, Infinite Stratos, Strawberry 100%,He is My Master,Irresponsible Captain Tylor to my list so i guess our sense of humor from the animes is what is different some of those i had already hear but wasnt fully sure on them cant think of why though but is ichigo 100% same name for strawberry 100% right? xD dont see the need for the name difference

but so whats difference between the tenchi muyo animes?

I watched an episode of Strawberry 100%. Didn't really like it.

Don't finish it. I read the manga which was good except the ending pretty much ruined the whole thing. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth for the whole day. It sucked >:[

Perhaps. Bombshells and Tears to Tiara were the ones I thought were okay, and those were the ones from the middle list you left off. But oh well, you seem to know what you like at least.

As for Tenchi, most of them are very different from eachother. Universe is most similar to the original, but it's story plays out very differently, the characters act a little differently, it's longer, more happens, and it has a very different ending. I know I like Universe the most, and a lot of people seem to enjoy it the most as well. It's also the most balanced with the series' various themes, IMO.

There's also Tenchi in Tokyo, which is even more different. It's more of a slapstick comedy - there's less character development and story, and far more humor. Some say the humor is more vapid, but I liked it. Also remember loving the ending, too. More people dislike this one, but I think you might want to check it out at least. If the humor's to your taste, you'll probably enjoy it more than others.

Watch past the first episode. The first ep. is pretty awful, even according to some fans of the series. I know I've never before felt so many conflicting emotions than when I watched that episode...

Urusei Yatsura is a fun show. Gets old after a while, but at least it's enjoyable.

I ended up learning that when I stopped watching it then like a year after enjoying the show again.

WARNING! RANT INCOMING:

The community on Crunchyroll completely disgusts me. From perverts and lolicons, to idiots and anti-intellectuals, the vast majority of users I've encountered represent the stereotypical anime nerds that I used to hate with a burning passion before I got into anime myself. And I really hate to generalize, as there are some good users, as well as neutral users, yet I've never encountered a larger gathering on indivivuals I've hated since my time on IGN back in '06-'07, perhaps even exceeding it. It really is a madhouse pretty much all the time.

...yet that hasn't stopped me from lurking, and very occasionally posting, for the past two years now. I guess it's because of all things, they seem to lack out-and-out jerks, and there are so many people posting, that it often seems like no one actually reads what you're writing, at least in the forums. Most of the time it seems like only the long-time users actively reply to people, and usually they reply intelligently and respectfully. It's actually rather refreshing to see someone post something you'd think would start an argument, only for it to be ignored by most of the community, and only be handled by someone who really knows what he's talking about. Of course, these instances are still rare, to say the least. /RANT

TL;DR Don't read the comments on Crunchyroll, or visit their forums, unless you're a self-described otaku. Surprising and relevant information, I'm sure.

I think that the Internet Browser on Wii U is a far improvement of the Browser on the original Wii.

Anyway, I just got into Fairy Tail recently, i'm upto episode 11, and I gotta say, why does Lucy sometimes remind me of Usopp?

Wait Lucy? The girl Lucy? How... Why?.... Wha?! XD

I need to work on Fairy Tail tbh looks pretty interesting. Only saw first few episodes

I think it's because for one thing Lucy doesn't use her own physical strength like Usopp, and instead uses outside help. That and their scared natures.

Usopp is a king among characters. And he lies a lot. Thought it was cool how they incorporate that into his name. Best part is when he is fat on that island for 2 years xD

I know the conversation has moved on from this, but oh well.

I'd have to say I enjoyed the original Tenchi Muyo (the OVA series) the most, although I haven't been able to watch the third OVA (which finishes the story).

Universe is also very good though, and definitely worth a watch.

Tokyo isn't as good as the other two, but I still found it to be pretty enjoyable (especially the ending).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Crunchyroll has forums?

I don't usually discuss anime online much outside this thread. Everyone's always so hyped about the shows they like and indignant at the shows they don't like, without actually taking into account whether said shows are actually good or not haha

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Yeah, Crunchyroll's the only anime website I really go to anymore. I just go to the forums in between checking out the news. I probably should go to ANN, which has a much better (but still pretty terrible) community.

But I don't know what you mean about that last part, though. You dislike talking about anime because they're excited about the shows they like and down on the shows they don't? That sounds very strange to me. Personally, I'm happy they're happy and enjoying themselves in their favorite hobby, and what they dislike, well I think it's good to hear what someone says about something, good or bad. Even if it's something you like, you can learn from it. That even goes for all the way up to outright bashing, so long as you look at it with a decerning eye. You may have to work for it, but there's always something to learn from there. You never know when you might be able to see something from a different view point, and maybe even learn of flaws that you weren't concious of the first time around, which can be helpful when you're talking with others and understanding why someone dislikes something. To put it simply: don't shut them out just because you don't like what they say, or else you'll never learn anything from them.

And I really don't get what you're saying about not taking into account whether or not a show is actually good.

That's pretty true. I guess what I was trying to say through my strange wording was that some people (and in a lot of cases it's a minority) don't take the show as a whole and instead just form their opinion on a really shallow basis. I'm still not making sense :/

let me try again

I've seen people bash shows because they're made by a certain animation company, or because they don't like the casting choices or the art style looks weird. All of these are valid complaints, I know, but it's a little annoying to see someone vehemently refuse to give something a shot because they don't like one aspect of the entire production. Then again you do have a point, since it's good to take into account the opinions of others while watching things.

Perhaps I'm trying to say that I wish some communities would be more openminded about the anime they choose to watch? Or perhaps I'm trying to say that I'm a complete jerk who doesn't like looking at opinions which aren't the same as my own. I really don't know anymore :/

bottom of the line is though, I think I often take an overtly optimistic attitude towards a lot of shows, which is what leads me to watch stuff others have said is bad because hey, why not. Whether I found it good or not is a different question, but I try my best not to ridicule anything if it's evident that the producers have put time and effort into creating it.
