To be honest, the only thing I'm seeing are a generic tsundare comedy and a generic love story. Unless there's a twist on par with what School Days did (I'm talking about perception-changing, not the violence), I'll happily pass.
EDIT: Also, I finished La storia della Arcana Famiglia, and I have a two-word plot summary; status quo. In the end, nothing has happened or changed.

Never judge a book by its cover, especially when you arent that good at picking them. Toradora takes a little to get going, but it's actually a pretty interesting show. I've met a lot of people who seem to agree, too. Kimi no Todoke is very shojo, but I liked it as well. It's hardly generic at least, though it may be hard to relate to, for some.

Fair game, fair game. I'll check out the first few episodes and see if they do anything for me.

Toradora was nice from the 4 episodes I saw. The people I know who have finished tell me it's a good watch so it's probably not generic. At least too much. I plan to finish it one day.
I gotta be honest, Casshern Sins last 1/4 has been pretty dissappointing so far. Like, they had answers and then went through some of them partially, MAYBE? I get what they're doing but it's so less appealing than everything else in the series. It was going so well too. Also, the lame obvious metaphors/wannabe Evangelion-like deconstruction has really started to annoy me.
Samurai 7 would be my favorite show in the world right now if it was just the Robot and kid show. It's really weird, it's like this character is from a different anime. He just got beat up as a one-off villian in episode 1, and then decided to be the most gloriously over-the-top guy/comic relief in order to wake the audience up. I mean, there's been some good stuff but none of the other 6 samurai are given anything great to do as characters and it's really been dragging down what could be a really good anime.
Eureka 7 and Symbionic Titan are amazing though. It's amusing watching people who have never seen Eureka 7 not realizing that every annoying character trait of Renton was entirely thought out ahead of time.
AHHH!
Konata Izumi's English voice actor is also the voice actor for HARUHI SUZUMIYA! (The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
which I started watching recently!
I don't know how I just figured it out but I did.
Derp.

What are some interesting animes for a noob? I used to watch the heck outta Tenchi Muyo back in the day.
Dude, there are like, 10 Tenchi Shows out there. They're all a kinda different from eachother, but they're all worth checking out.
Tenchi Muyo! - Watched this recently, and it's about as good as I remember. Not the best Tenchi series, but a great start. Gets pretty bad by the last few episodes, but that's because the series was dropped and them picked back up a decade later. It's more focused on the fantasy stuff than the rest, IMO.
Tenchi Universe - The most balanced in the series, and still kinda my favorite. Definitely worth watching or rewatching if you've seen it already.
Tenchi in Tokyo - A dumbed-down, comedy-focused entry in the series. Most people hate this one, but if you ask me, it can be pretty fun if you take it for what it is. I also really like the ending to it.
Tenci Muyo! GXP - The first spin-off of the OVA, that's more focused on the sci-fi police setting. I'm really liking this one so far, it's really funny and the action's cool. But It's really hard to tell what's going on at first until you've rewatched the OVA.
Dual: Parallel Trouble Adventure - A Mecha-focused entry in the series that takes place in a universe parallel to the one in Tenchi Muyo. Also really liked this one. Good action and comedy as always, and the premise and story were pretty cool.
Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar - An entry that's actually focused on serious action? Who'd a thought. It's actually alright, too. Not the greatest in the series, but it's enjoyable. Just don't expect it to be quite like the others.
Tenchi Muyo! in Love, Daughters of Darkness, and Tenchi Forever! the Movie - I have not seen these yet, but I think they're romance-focused entries in the series, though the second one might be harder on the action, maybe. The first and third ones are based on Tenchi Universe, btw.
Magical Project S - A Magical Girl entry in the series. It's actually better than it sounds. And it stars on Sasami!
Sasami: Magical Girls Club - Another Magical Girl entry in the series. I actually don't like this one, and It doesn't help that the character designs are hidious.
Also, not related in any way, but El-Hazard and Martian Successor Nadesico are also great shows that have a lot of similarities to Tenchi Muyo.
Blah, 1 off, but still, Tenchi is a great and eclectic franchise. You already know you like Tenchi Muyo, so if you ask me, why not use up what you know first? When you're done, you can tell us which ones you liked the most, and then we can make recommendations based on those, since all of those have different bents towards different genres.
^Not sure if it's in English yet, but I swore they made a series called Saint Knight's Tale, that was related to Tenchi in some way (Could be wrong, though).
