Steins;Gate comes out on dvd next week. I wish I was richer. Amusing though that I plan on finishing the series right before it comes out on dvd.
DVD or otherwise though, I highly recommend Steins;Gate. I heard the hype and I love time travel stories and it completely delivered. Especially the 2nd half. Especially episode 13 which is one of the best episodes I've seen in any anime. The characters are (mostly) great, the story is great, it does an amazing job at having a linear story while still having each episode as its own story.
So for the sake of discussion in your opinion what is the best English dubbed opening song? For me number one definitely has to be Beyblade's opening:
Followed extremely closely by Yu Yu Hakusho's opening:
[16:08] LordJumpMad Hides his gut with a griddle
[16:08] Reala: what ljm does for cash is ljm's business
[16:08] LordJumpMad: Gotta look good my my next game u_u
Ah, it's good to be back and posting in this thread. As for my anime watching habits...
Madoka Magicka: Yeah, after the depressing 3rd episode I'm continuing this series today by watching the fourth episode. I want to keep believing that this is an overrated series, but nothing so far has given me evidence of that claim. Of course, I still have a ton of episodes to go before I finish and get all of my thoughts down straight, so there is a good chance this series could fall apart.
Sword Art Online: Just got done watching the most recent publicly available episode on Crunchyroll. I've heard that the manga was a disappointment, but I'm very much becoming addicted to this series. I just love the world even though it is getting little emphasis. I'm hoping that the first ~10 episodes were not entirely filler and that they do factor into the plot later on, but at this point it's up in the air.
Dog Days (season 1): This series is absolute shlock and it shows. The characters are stock, the plot is self-serving, and there is fan service aplenty. However, all of it is oddly compelling. I really hope this is not the sign of me becoming the Otaku equivalent of a Twilight fan.
EDIT:
And I forgot to mention one more show:
La Storia della Arcana Famiglia: I'm not really a huge fan of how this series is handling itself. Other than setting up a huge event that is still not occurring, I don't like the standard anime tropes it is falling back on for story advancement. There are some interesting ideas presented in the series, but so far they have been kicked aside or are being held for future narrative use. Hopefully this series will start turning its wheels when the main event occurs.

"Rock the Dragon" from Dragon Ball Z. Rather than a dub of the Japanese song, it's actually a full on replacement, but fits the kick@ss theme of the show much better than the original (Funi's entire soundtrack actually surpases the original).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Everyone named all the obvious ones. And honestly the only other one I can think of off the top of my head is that I really like the english version of the 3rd One Piece Opening.
I've been watching Black Butler. Without giving too much away, basically the story is about a kid millionaire in London whose parents were killed in a fire. The kid forms a contract with a devil, with the condition that if the devil becomes his servant and ultimately helps take revenge on the people responsible, the devil will be allowed to eat the kid's soul.
Oh, and the butler is hillarious; he can do anything, even things that are not humanly possible.
Bleach - the Ichigo/Uqiorra fight sure ended anticlimacticly, but I'm interested in seeing where they go with Yami. He's supposed to be the weakest of the Espada, but only now does it seem like they're ready to get him into a serious fight (I wonder what they're hiding...).
Samurai 7 - The show just keeps going and going. I'm not quite as into it as Bleach or Eureka 7, but it's still interesting to follow, and I'm loving Kikucho.
Casshern Sins - Weird dream episode. I completely understand where they were coming from, but I don't think they needed to spend an entire episode on it.
Eureka 7 - Another entertaining episode. Some humor, action, as well as a little understanding.
Well, FMA:B is on, so see ya later!

Heh. Trust me, it's not overrated and it won't fall apart. You'll see at the end!

Haven't posted in here in quite a while! Here's the anime I've watched this past weekend:
Kokoro Connect: It's a really interesting anime with a bizarre twist - the focus characters (all 5 of them) are somehow afflicted with a tendency to switch personalities with each other, as a result of the work of a mysterious being named Heartseed. I like the comedy and slice-of-life which it offers (I love that type of anime), but interesting enough are the dramatic bits which make for some interesting character development. Pretty solid anime.
Ikki Tousen: Don't even bother charging me with watching such a fanservicey anime like this - I actually watched it back in 2008 and back then, I wasn't really seasoned with my anime viewing, so for the past few weeks, I've been returning to old anime I've watched in order to see how much my viewing has matured. Ikki Tousen is still downright hilarious, and while I don't mind the fanservice (clothes ripping up to 11), it's still a fun trip. I may watch the later seasons when I have time, but we'll see.
Nichijou: This anime just flipping rocks. I just don't know how it manages to be so goddamn hilarious, but it just is. The cast of characters they have are diverse, hilarious in their own way and they just breathe life into the show. Anyways, I picked up Nichijou right after enjoying myself thoroughly with Daily Lives of High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou). I'd love to put Nichi-bros over Nichijou, but after advancing a few episodes and slowly lowering doubts, Nichijou is just a prime example of comedy done absolutely well. That and Nichijou has more episodes than Nichibros, so I expect a lot more to be done.
That should be all for now! Maybe I'll continue doing this again soon. Maybe a post about the anime I'll be watching in the fall season? Who knows!
I should probably go watch Nichijou, from what the clips I have seen it's appearing to be one of the best comedy series ever made! (plus I feel guilty for using it as an avatar without watching it)
I'm developing a pretty severe backlog as of late; I keep discovering new series but not finding the time to actually commit to watching them. I gotta wait until these exams are over, and then I'll dive into Planetes, or Nodame, or something else entirely, I don't know anymore..
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
