Toonami night!

Oh, and I might be getting a new iPod soon. Thinking about trading in my 3DS (since I don't have the money to get anything new for it), and all my games to see where that gets me. If I have enough, I'll get a new iPod and finally get that Crunchyroll app.

Wait and see how much the Ilario mini is if its real. The more real estate is great for videos.

I wasn't aware self-torture was a requirement.

If a person takes the time to watch an entire series, wouldn't they want to see the "extended" ending?

Ah, I just decided to keep my 3DS. Will probably just trade in SSFIV3D (DOAD dominates my 3DS fighting time), Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (it was fun, but I haven't played it in months), SSBB (Wii broke last year), and Sonic & Sega Tennis (played once and never touched again) to get KH:DDD.

More on topic, however, last night's Toonami was good. DMW only has one episode left

Not if it's a total mindf*** that has the potential to ruin any positive feelings one may have towards the series. IMO, everyone's better off waiting for Rebuild to finish, so far it's been blowing the rest of the franchise out of the water.

I know that this is a bit random, but I have to say that military power in DBZ was underutilized & underpowered. Here's why:

1. It's a futuristic society (fly cars, capsules, robots, ect.), yet the military always looks like it's from the mid-20th century (Heck, they even carpet bombed Cell, lol). Did they not stop to think that military tech would advance as well?

2. The government isn't just going to ignore the fact that there are "people" flying around, single handedly destroying cities, and they certainly aren't going to magically forget about it once it's over. After King Piccolo, after the Sayains, after the Androids/Cell, and after Buu, there would have been major advancements in military power & technology in responce, yet that's never inferred to happen.

3. This is the most glaring flaw in how the military is represented. While the military is so incompetent, some jack@ss scientest from a defunct & bankrupt military operation can hole out in a cave somewhere and somehow has the resources to make complex androids/cyborgs that are able to fight toe to toe with Super Sayains. Lol, wut? I don't care how smart he is, or how much data he has, the point is that he'd only be able to create something that's technologically feasible at the time (seeing as how it's not inferred that he got ahold of alien technology). Even if is creations were the most advanced on Earth, it only stands to reason that the military, in the very least, would have some sort of weapon capable of dealing some sort of damage to the Sayains/Cell/Buu/whatever.

Now, I'm not saying that the military should have wiped everything out in a matter of seconds/minutes, as that would have defeated the purpose of the show. What I am saying, is that they should have had a large enough presence to influence the storyline, or in the very least, provide some very thrilling encounters. I always wondered why they didn't try to nuke Cell, when he was just waiting out in the middle of nowhere for days. I also thought it would have been cool if the military had reverse-engineered, or created their own android(s) by the time Buu came around (they wouldn't have been successful, but it would have been fun to watch).

@RR29 - Actually, military advances more slowly in times of peace, and IIRC, in Dragon Ball, there was world peace. So it's not strange to see that the military wasn't as advanced. Also, extended peace times can make governments lax, so it's not inconcievable that a mad scientist could develop advanced weaponry without the governments of the world noticing. Oh, and lets not forget that the technology of Dragon Ball is not the same around the world. That city Cell wiped out was no where as advanced as the one we see Bulma in near the start of Dragon Ball, for instance.

With that said, I'll admit it's strange that Dragon Ball Z lacked miliatary presence, since Dragon Ball actually had some. I recall one of the bad guys being an advanced cybernetic mercenary, for instance, and I think there was also a skirmish at one point, but I could be very wrong there. Maybe around the part where Goku and the others are in a snowy country.

End of Evangelion

The did I just watch.

Why did the Illumanti guys who were funding never suddenly go off the deep in trying to start third impact. Nowhere else in the series Do they have this intents and they themselves have reservations that Gendo might try and start it.

Shinji may be one of the most useless characters ever created. The film makes me lose all good will I had for him. Dude cant even save the world right. Instead he brings it back as a odd post apocalyptic state where people have to will themselves back into existance.

How were the other Eva series able to function without pilots. Even if they were using the dummy plug system how could they function for so long on the reserve battery.

How the hell did they reverse engineer the Spear of Longinus if nerve had that on logic down and it was inside Lilith for the majority of the series.

Did this take place after the series or does it replace the ending of the series. Most of it suggests that it does act as sequel to the series. But why is Shinji still the internal depressent at the end of the OG series he seemingly justified his existence and it ends on him being congratulated by the rest of the cast. Granted that scene could be all in his mind as apart of the instrumentality of humanity deal.

Still the animation was pretty and Askua is awesome to the Max.

Guess I should wait for Rebuild.

It's an "Alternate Ending". In the Series, he accepts...whatever the f*** was going on...and joins the rest of humanity. In EoE, yeah, he still isolating himself, just that now he's bringing along anima and animus and starting his own world or whatever.

But yeah, just go watch Rebuild. Or wait for the next two movies and then watch them all. Whichever works for ya.

Yeah, I watched EoE a couple years back, and I'm still not quite sure what it is I watched, lol.

(Spoilers... maybe). I knew I wasn't going to much care for it when they killed off Misato... I think. Again, still not sure what the end message was, lol. (Sorta spoilers end).

NGE in general is one of those shows that just gets too wierd near the end for my tastes. Still enjoyed it, though. If the new movies do indeed make more sense, I'll try them one of these days.

Been watching Steins;Gate. This officially confirms what I've kinda known for a while, last year was great for anime. Steins;Gate, Nichijou, Tiger and Bunny, Madoka, new Hunter X Hunter, Deadman Wonderland etc.

Steins;Gate is amazing. Mainly the story. I love good time travel stories.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

Just a minor warning, I heard Steins;Gate gets pretty disappointing towards the end. A lot of rage was made on Anime Nation, since it held so much potential and didn't quite deliver. Didn't hear that it was as bad as Chaos;Head in that regard, though. That was just a clusterf***. If they can keep this up, maybe Robotics;Notes will end up being good the whole way through?

well I finished full metal alchemist a week ago, now im watching deadman wonder land, was watching it on youtube but funimation screwed it up so im watching it on just dubs, also I could be wrong but in the english dubs it sounds like there are some actors who acted for blazblue.
Also read a web comic a few days ago called twokinds, its really good but the sad thing is that I have to wait for more.

I've seen it, and yeah, it's bad. I can't believe they made a surprisingly good game based on it.

IIRC, they sprang for some regulars in the VA industry, so I wouldn't be surprised if you came across their voices in some anime.

Finally finished Gintama and I have to say it went straight to one of my favorite shows I've ever watched. There wasn't a single bad episode in the last season (episodes 202-252 or something like that). Hopefully they'll continue the anime series since the manga is still going on.
