Just wrapped up Outlaw Star today. Weird, but satisfying ending. Also saw the last few episodes of Kekkaishi, which I couldn't finish on Adult Swim because of the Toonami takeover. Looking around for something new now, checked out Photon: The Idiot Adventures, GaoGaiGar, and wanted to see Black Cat but the player was being dumb, but nothing has really popped out yet. If I can get Black Cat to work I may sit down for that. I did end up watching Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo for the first time in a while again, though, and that was still a blast!

@SilverBaretta GaoGaiGar gets exponentially better with each episode, so stick with it. It's one of my all-time favorites, and IIRC not a single episode after episode 5 failed to impress me in some way. It does start out pretty boring, though, I remember that, but then it gets decent, then good, then great, then amazing, and by episode 30 or 31 it's off the charts and just keeps on climbing!
Well I finally got Black Cat to work, and it's not bad so far, but I'm waiting for the plot to really start (on episode 3). I do like the super-deformed comedy bits, though. XD
@kkslider: I may do that as well at some point, my only experience with the series is the preview chapter in Shonen Jump when it first started being serialized in North America, but it was pretty cool.
@Mickeymac: I'll probably come back to it, I just wanted something that would really grab my attention from the get-go at that moment. good to know it gets really good, though.

just finished Kids on the Slope, and thoroughly enjoyed it! I couldn't help but feel like I wasn't part of the target audience though, since I quite like jazz but I still missed out on a lot of the contextual elements that entwined with the plot of the show. It's a fantastic music anime with really good characterisation and performance sessions, but for some reason I still think the somewhat similar BECK hits much closer to home.
So yeah, from here I might hit up some Spice and Wolf, or maybe Usagi Drop. Does anyone else have some recommendations? I normally don't watch slice of life/relaxation anime this much, but I figure it's helping me relax and wind down after study sessions.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
I urge everyone here to watch Kappa Mikey, if you can find it. It's not an anime, but anime fans will get a kick out of it.
It's about Mikey Simon (obviously based on Futurama's Philip J. Fry), an American who wins a contest to star in a popular anime (you know, because it's a cartoon).
All the characters are designed like anime characters, except for Mikey, who has the thick outline and four fingers assossiated with American cartoons. Interesting to note, is that Gonard (Mikey's food obsessed best friend, and co-star) is voiced by the guy who voiced Goku in the Funi dub of DBZ (Ironically, Gonard plays the villain in the anime they star in, Lilimu).
Sadly, it was short lived (two seasons I think), but it was hilarious.
I remember watching that show on one of the kiddie channels either Disney or Nick I cant remember which one. It was good and I got a kick out of some of the parodies but I can see why it was short lived.
Anyway I started watching Fushigi Yugi again the other night forgot how great this anime is.

Yeah, it was on one of Nickelodeon's offshoot channels, Nicktoons when I saw it.
It was originally intended to be on MTV (which is owned by the same company), but for some reason it got moved to Nick (which of course softened the show's tone). I still enjoyed it, however.

@undead_terror: Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist) is another one I've personally wanted to check out for a while, but haven't got around to it.

So my friends finally got me to watch more Angel Beats. I'm on episode 5 right now and I'm reeaalllly enjoying it.
good for you! I finished that back in March or April, and it was probably my favorite anime at the time besides Sgt. Frog (Which still holds my #1 spot, no matter how much Viral changes in Gurren Laggan. :3)
