Now I'm watching Pretty Cure, and so far it's been ...impressively tame for a magical girl show. Very little fanservice and the girls aren't overly cute or anything, and their tastes in boys are a little closer to their age. I really like the characters so far, though I wish the purple haired girl got some more development, but I guess that'll be the next episode. With that said, the action scenes so far have been horrible in virtually every way possible. It's like their from a low budget tokusatsu film or something. The first episode was especially terrible. Also, it doesn't look like it'll have much of a story. I'll keep watching, but don't be surprised if I get bored of it halfway through...

Episode 4 of Pretty Cure was surprisingly awesome - even the action was good! Seriously, only problem is they solved the one mystery this show had, and it was kinda disappointing. The next one also looks like it could be interesting. Could this mean the show is actually picking up and could turn out better than I thought? Either way, I'm now going in with renewed enthusiasm.

Anyone else get the English-dubbed version of Panty & Stocking? Half way through, and I am enjoying it! Jamie Marchi not only voices Panty, but was also was a writer. There is some darn funny dialogue! They over do it sometimes with the cussing and innuendo, however. Overall, thus far, I still prefer the Japanese version, but there is hilarious dialogue (I can't wait to get to the gabfest "Nothing to Room."

Another thing, some of tube famous scenes (like Dieto) don't have the same impact (sometimes because of F-bomb/sex saturation), yet other scenes are better than than JPN version. Guess it's that way with any dub.

Anybody interested like me with limited Gil can get the first (and I pray NOT last) season at iTunes for $17.99. Getting the DVD later (hope they still include a Heaven Coin with it then).

Oh yeah... REPENT, MOFO!!!
Another Oh yeah... Anybody who loves bee puns will love episode 2-1, Turmoil of the Beehive.
Panty (to Stocking bee): One more time, with "beeling!"
ROTFLMAO
Guess I'll finally try Dead Leaves after finishing this. I know P&S isn't the only anime.

What is the best non-Shonen Jump manga and/or graphic novel out there? I'm not that big a fan of manga, but the manga I do like (One Piece, D-Grayman, and Naruto) are brilliant.

If anyone's wondering why I read only Viz Media, everything else I find is traumatically bad.

Obviously Fairy Tail. It's very similar to One Piece (but different in some ways) and it's beyond awesome.

Been watching Outlaw Star lately (uncut of course). Really enjoying it, Episode 5 and it shows no signs of slowing down.

I'm pretty sure I think I'm funnier than I really am.

Ah, another entertaining Toonami Saturday night.

It's hard to believe Deadman Wonderland is already over halfway over. While I'm enjoying Toonami overall, this is the only thing I'm really invested in right now. Hope they have something planned for when it finishes it's run.

Also love how they'll review a game every so often. Tonight they did Catherine (a bit late, but whatever), and gave it a 7/10.

I've noticed some adverts for Toonami during AS's weeknight programming (which is more than they've done for anything anime related in a long time, or even for Toonami when it first relaunched), so hopefully that means it's doing well enough for them to put more effort (money) into it.

They're advertising Toonami during regular Cartoon Network hours!?!

That's an interesting development (I don't think anything AS, anime or otherwise, has been advertised during normal CN hours before).

CURSE YOU CREATORS OF GURREN LAGGAN!
Episode 18 is what I'm up to.
I'll try not to give any spoilers away, but they just had to make Rossiu an unlikeable B!+(H!
COME ON! HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS!

I never cared for Rossiu (especially dubbed, since JYB is freaking everywhere), but Kinon's character being ruined alongside his did bug me...

I'm still watching Pretty Cure, albeit slowly. It's been consistantly good for 13 episodes now, which is more than I can say for any other Magical Girl show I've seen. I'm really enjoying it, and I think I might continue with this series after I'm done with this first series.

Yeah, that kinda sucked too.
Also, I can't believe I'm about to say this (he was one of my least favorite characters in the whole 1st half), but Viral is climbing up the charts on my favorite characters list. How ironic, he used to be all the way at the bottom, right over Guame... I hate that Armadillo thing with every fiber of my being..

If you think you like Viral now, just wait until you get close to the ending...

I could not disagree more. Granted, the plot device is a bit unconventional, but it's a very cute romance in spite of it...

I urge everyone here to watch Kappa Mikey, if you can find it. It's not an anime, but anime fans will get a kick out of it.

It's about Mikey Simon (obviously based on Futurama's Philip J. Fry), an American who wins a contest to star in a popular anime (you know, because it's a cartoon).

He then moves over to Japan, and the show itself is about the shenanigans Mikey and his co-stars get involved in (everything from Gundam, to FLCL, to Pokémon, ect. are parodied).

All the characters are designed like anime characters, except for Mikey, who has the thick outline and four fingers assossiated with American cartoons. Interesting to note, is that Gonard (Mikey's food obsessed best friend, and co-star) is voiced by the guy who voiced Goku in the Funi dub of DBZ (Ironically, Gonard plays the villain in the anime they star in, Lilimu).

Sadly, it was short lived (two seasons I think), but it was hilarious.
