Oh, you like Getter Robo? Awesome! I should have guessed though, lol.

You ever seen or read it?
Not really. Just seen clips of the robots in action, read summaries, and seen a review of a new Getter Robo figure in where the guy gave some very informative back story of the anime.

If you have the backstory, watch Getter Robo Armageddon. It'a reimagining of the post Getter Robo G manga (Shin, Go, and Ah), and is freakin' fantastic so long as you know who the charactyers are and can follow along. It's starts off really quick with no introductions. I've read just enough of the Getter series to know what's going on, but it can be off-putting. But really, watch it. It's a great show, with quality action, great characters, and a good story once you get what's going on. It's actually one of my top 20 favorite shows.
It's the new film by Mamoru Hosada (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars), if you were wondering, entitled ÅŒkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki).
Considering how slightly obsessed I got with The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (watched countless times) and Summer Wars (possibly watched even more times than TGWLLT, and I have a massive theatrical poster of it on my wall), it's safe to say I'm just a little bit hyped for this film.
Just a smidge.
This MUST be good. That's th type of movie i like: you can get your young sibling watching it because it will only see cartoons and wolfs, but you can watch it and get into the magic of the movie.
Must see... In cinema. I would gladly pay the 7'50€ they ask for the ticket knowing it's from Mamoru Hosoda.
Watched episode 1 or Panty & Stocking last night in English then Japanese. The Japanese voices are better IMO. Panty's english voice actor sounds strange, and stocking's voice just doesn't fit IMO. Gaterbelt's voice is awesome though. So yeah, this show rocks so much. I actually laughed out loud more than once in the first episode. (probably only two times actually.) I like the tribute (parody?) to old Cartoonnetwork cartoons. I get such a powerpuff girls/ Dexter's laboratory feeling from the art style. I can see why some people, or a lot , would be affected by the sexual jokes. I got caught off guard by one and it made me laugh really hard for a bit. Overall Panty & Stocking is great, because of how incredibly over the top and insane it is, yet it exists. Yet it's still less offensive than Sou Park. I would love it if the show aired on CN and I could wake up to watch a new episode every Saturday. lol

Just one episode in? The fun, hilarity and WTF has just started for you, my friend! I LOVE this show (and want season 2 so badly ). There are a lot of mind-blowing, even gross moments, but they're done so well even stuff that would be otherwise uncomfortable is HILARIOUS! When I feel like laughing, I still go back to past episodes, and I LMAO even though I know what's coming pretty well after seeing it the umpteenth time. And there's no way a show with so much vulgarity, and so many bizarre subjects should be as adorable as this can be.
Here's some of my favorite half-episodes: Death Race 2010, Sex and the Daten City, Catfight Club, The Diet Syndrome (DIETO!!!!!!!!!), High School Nudical, Transhomers, ... Of the Dead, If the Angels Wore Swimsuits, Inner Brief, and Nothing to Room. Last two are probably my favorites, they crack me up every time! I can't wait for the DVD to come out next month. My thing is I don't know if I'll like the English VA as well as Japanese. Somehow, everything sounds better in Japanese, especially the cussing, tee hee! This is how I say "WTF" now.
(language warning, obviously )
I'm going to get the DVD, if nothing else to support the show and help sales, in the hope that it helps bring about a desperately-needed season 2!
OH, after you've seen all the episodes, don't forget to watch the special "mini-sodes" that came with the Japanese DVD, "Sanitary Box."
I love Death Race 2010. That episode was hilarious. The first one( forgot the name) was awesome too. Giant poop monster, HAH! Couldn't stop thinking about Conker's Bad Furday. I thought the DVD was already out in the USA. I'm gonna pick it up when it comes out too. When I was skimming a magazine and saw an article that said Panty & Stocking was coming to America I couldn't believe it. Definitely want to support outrages animes like this getting dubbed. I only hope the DVD will include Japanese sub, but they usual do so I shouldn't have to worry. Can't wait to watch some more.

I know it's not out in Japan yet, but do we even have an American premier date for this one yet? I can hardly wait for this one either. Hosada has quickly established himself as one of my favorite directors; TGWLTT and Summer Wars are also two of my favorite, most-watched films, animated or otherwise, of the last few years, and this one sounds like it will be just as interesting and unique.
I've been trying to enjoy Accel World and...I can't. The show has an interesting plot and has potential, but I just CANNOT accept the fact that the main character is a fat midget! And I'm not talking 4-foot midget, I'm talking maybe 2-foot midget! It's absolutely ridiculous and just ruins the entire show because highschool-people are not the height equivalent of dwarfs!

It's that time of year again when I have too much time on my hands and not enough romance animes! >___<
I have seen tons of them and don't know if any good ones are left. I understand most of you guys aren't into romance anime, but any suggestions would help. I'll try to list ones I've seen here already, but I'll probably miss some.
Angel Beats, Kanon, Clannad, Clannad After Story, Elfen Lied, Toradora!, To Love-ru, Spice and Wolf, Kaichou wa maid-sama, Anohana: the Flower We Saw, Fate/Stay Night, Shakugan no Shana (season 1 and 2), Ah! My Goddess (both seasons), Infinite Stratos, Kore Wa Zombie Desuka?, Mayo Chiki. And now I forget all of the rest.
Also, could some one please tell me the end/explain to me Akira? I got it from the library, but the last scene and a half was all messed up because it was a library disc. I can't find the ending anywhere either >:{
Also @ all the people who were talking about the movie from the maker of Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, when is that movie coming out? I totally loved both summer wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
@V8_Ninja: Considering anime consists largely of adults that look like children with eyes the size of dinner plates, talking animals, beings with magical powers and deus ex machinae out the wazoo, I don't see how unreasonable it is for viewers to suspend their disbelief long enough to take obese midgets in stride. If you're gonna discriminate against one impossibility, it's kinda ludicrous not to discriminate against the rest of the impossibilities anime puts before us as well. :/

recently I tried to watch death note(only got to episode 19 and got bored with it),got to episode 9 of Tokimeki Memorial Only Love(getting bored with that),watching kirby right back at ya(rather enjoying it since its a change from my ussual anime and its got kirby!).
think I might want to watch a epic anime with violence, anyone got a suggestion but I dont want a anime that got loads of episodes but maybe 30 or less
Bakuman is the only manga series I've ever read. I absolutely love it. I'm caught up on all the graphic novels that have been released. I'm honestly surprised that there are only going to be 20 total.
As far as current anime goes, the only shows I watch are the ones on Adult Swim. I like Deadman Wonderland, and Casshern Sins makes a lot more sense now that the backstory has finally been explained. I'd never watched Bebop before Toonami restarted. I like it, but sadly I've only seen the first two episodes they showed. (And yes, I know that's not a current anime.)
@Smexi Shakugan No Shana has a third season now, so you could try that. I myself still have to watch it.
@dark-insanity If you haven't seen Gurren Lagann then that's the anime for you!
@SonicMaster Same here. Bakuman is the only manga I'm currently following and I'm absolutely loving it. Didn't know there's only going to be 20 volumes. At least now I know there's still plenty for me to enjoy. I just finished reading vol. 10.

Violence as in Blood and gore? If so, there's Berserk, Claymore, Elfin Lied, and Deadman Wonderland.

There are two things that upset me about this particular situation. One of those reasons is that the plot already has a place for the more outlandish tropes. To roughly summarize, the show revolves around a potentially-illegal video game world. That world is where the really outlandish ideas can be brought into the mix and thus the real world can be a bit more real and bland. The second problem is that, from what I can tell, the creators are sticking with this main character design while also attempting to give the show some sort of depth. I can't engage myself in a story when the main character is a quasi-human being (it's still anime) that would barely stand above my knees.

I'd suggest InuYasha. It's actually a Shonen, but it has much more of a romantic leaning than any thing else in the genre. In fact, that part of it is almost as prevalent (if not equal to) as the action.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

If you're cool with some fanservice, B Gata H Kei (or Yamada's First Time, as FUNi subtitled it) is a great romance anime. The premise might put you off at first (high school girl who wants 100 sex partners), but it's actually a really cute love story...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
