I don't have an account there, so all I could do was observe, but man are there a lot of complainers over at Adult Swim's message boards. "Bleach is the poor man's Yu Yu Hakusho", "GitS bores me to tears", "FMA is too emo", "Deadman Wonderland is too gory", ect.

Hopefully that's just a vocal minority, and the silent majority tune in every Saturday. Sure, it's not the best lineup ever, but I'm just glad T.O.M. is back on TV, so I really enjoyed the night. From what I understand, Turner Corp didn't want to back the idea, so they gave AS limited funds (thus no high profile new shows). Heck, they can't even pay Steve Blum (T.O.M.), he's doing this free of charge for the fans. Hopefully they'll get good steady ratings, so they can build the block up in a few months.

I watched 12 episodes of One Piece yesterday. I'm pretty sure that's the most I've ever watched in one sitting. Would've been a lot more but I conked out around 11, and didn't start until noon.

I was just wondering, does anime have a different name in Japan? I know it used to be called japanimation in the west before it became known as anime. Was that because its the official name for it in Japan?

Anime is just the japanese word for animation or cartoon, from what I understand and that calling specifically anime as japanese animation is just to make it easier for everyone else.

I used to know someone that called it Japanimation. It really annoyed me to no end (but that was probably because they were bashing DBZ. "Immoral", "hidden messages", "wierd", ect.).

Watched episode 16 and now I'm going to sleep. Really wish I hadn't seen that episode preview. Now I'm going to be wondering what happens next all day tomorrow. Uuugh!

It's only gonna get exponentially better from there on out. Good luck withstanding the epicness. XD

Anyways, I take it I never mentioned that I recently blasted through the Skypiea Arc in One Piece? Well, I did. And it was amazing. So many B-A characters, I think I liked some of the fight scenes more than the ones in the Alabasta Arc, Only problem being that the preists all went down in just one hit. Of course, landing those hits for the most part were no easy tasks. Wyper is definitely my new favorite side character. He so crazy! Eneru was great, too - the others were so helpless fighting him, and he had such a fun personality. He went down fairly easily to Luffy, though, and I kinda wish they had developed him more as a character, though I know that's not the last we see of him.

Only bad part was the 3 episode flashback right before the final Eneru fight. That was just bad placement right there. Otherwise, I loved it all. Alabasta was still better, of course, but it's different enough and awesome in its own ways that I can easily forgive that.

...sigh...

The fansite responsible for me watching my favorite series of all time and for every episode being watched by anyone who doesn't know japanese since 2008, has now been cease-and-desisted from the company that literally hasn't made a penny off the series in at least 2 years and has no plans to do anything with it ever again. I don't blame Funimation, it's obvious that TMS told them to do this but...

...pheewph. The sites I visit are still safe at least. It's getting harder and harder to be a pirate these days.

I really liked that arc, too! The flashback stuff was especially great, in any other Shonen series that story would have most likely been crappy filler but I really got to caring for those characters.

However, Skypia was when I finally realized one of One Piece's faults: no one ever dies. In that arc there are all these cool characters and they just start dying one by one and it is really upsetting and moving...and then they're all completely fine. It bugs the hell out of me.

Spoiler Warning
Yeah, that was my only nit to pick with the Skypiea arc. Eneru was this horrible, nearly unstoppable Big Bad with powers that quite literally put the fear of God into almost everybody (what with the nastily effective combo of Mantra and an especially powerful Logia-type Devil Fruit), and then it turned out that practically every character that had been struck by something like El Thor... walked away with a few singed nose-hairs. I totally knew that Luffy was going to be immune to him though.

SPOILERS Anybody who payed attention to 3rd grade science class knew that. <_< Anyways, yes, it was annoying how so many characters lived, but in the Skypiea arc, I don't think they could've let all the warriors die, since then their people would pretty much be doomed. That and it would've made it more rediculous that the Straw Hats survived worse. That old guy should've stayed dead, though. Just like how Pel should've stayed dead. Two incredibly moving parts of the show, and they ruined them. End SPOILERS
