I thought Yu Yu Hakusho was only 90-something episodes long?
I'm still watching GaoGaiGar, with Gaiking and some Sgt. Frog on the side. GaoGaiGar continues to impress at every turn, and now they're in space, so it's bound to get even more epic. They just introduced a Space Battleship-class Transformer, for instance. I'm looking forward to watching more. The only downide of this show is that there's been so much to take in the past couple of episodes that I can only watch two episodes at a time.
Gaiking really impressed me when I first started watching it, but that was before I saw a lot of really good Super Robot shows. Now it's kinda boring in comparison, at least the action scenes have so far. It still does a lot of nice things, like having a more fleshed-out world and characters than you usually see in these kinds of shows. These last couple of episodes have put a lot of focus on the side characters, for instance, giving them a chance to shine. You don't see that too often. The badguys also seem generally respectable without being overly likable, such as the Knights who pilot the Giants. The fight scenes in these episodes have been really boring, though. I hope they get better soon. The ones in the first 6 eps I remember being pretty good, but then again, the main character has been established as being vulnerable, and still in a learning period, so that kinda takes away some of the impact. I accidently caught some of a later episode and saw that it gets better, so I guess I should press on.
Should I watch MAR on Netflix? I've never seen that Animé before is it good?
It's a generic Action-Adventure show where they explore a foriegn land looking for things that end up making them stronger, but I suppose if you haven't seen too many shows like that, it might be enjoyable. I found it too boring and predictable, and didn't like any of the characters. If it's a stream it might be worth giving it a shot, but I wouldn't waste a queue on it if I were you.
Also, they just killed off the only bad guy in Gaiking that I didn't really like. There's hope for this show yet! Oh, and I finally got the card guessing game at the end of the show wrong, after an 8 episode winning streak.
Um....are there any Animé for girls on Netflix like Mew Mew Power or Sailor Moon?
For girls in general? There's Chobits, Fruits Basket, and Ouran Host Club. There's also Clannad if that counts.
Magical Girl shows like the ones you listed? Heck now. I can't even remember the last time one of those was released on DVD over here. There's a couple on CrunchyRoll, though (Shugo Chara and Pretty Cure).
Okay, 5 episodes of pure filler in Gaiking was more than I can handle. I think I'll put that show on hold again, at least until I'm done with GaoGaiGar...which I haven't had the chance to watch in a while.
I feel like watching something different tonight. Anyone have any recommendations?
My friend is trying to get me to watch Soul Eater, I saw the first episode, and I like it. Looks good.
That show is great, but the endings supposedly meh (haven't seen it myself yet), so you might want to read the Manga after you're done.
Soul Ealter is a great Anime. However the plot does split from the manga halfway through the series though. Ouran High school Host Club is AMAZING! I LOVE it! Nichijou is a great anime, random, but great. Any Black Butler fans here?
Ah My Goddess is pretty good, yeah. You're watching the TV Series, right? That one starts out a little slow - it takes about 3-6 episodes to tell what the OVA told in 1 ep. It gets even better as you go along, though.
Nichijou might be too different, I'm afraid. What little I've seen of it puts it up there with Bo-bo-bo in terms of insanity.
are you implying this is a bad thing? I pity you if you are.
But honestly it's more like they combined Azumanga Daioh with the over-the-top jokes from Lucky Star.
It's a bad thing because Bo-bo-bo's humor is pretty much unfollowable, impenatrable to the average non-Japanese, and more crazy than clever. The latter is the biggest problem - I prefer a method to one's madness. Even a show like Family Guy has that. If it does have one, then the other two problems make it so I can't find it. I never liked Lucky Star's Jokes either, for similar reasons.
And I don't need you looking down on me just because I don't share your sense of humor.
