Actually, something I noticed rewatching the first series (and note: I haven't seen Brotherhood yet) is that the apparently non-manga stuff is really frustrating at times. Still really good but...seriously...
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
yeah seriously, you have cyborgs suddenly appear at the climax, Rose's story, not an interesting enough main villian (interesting backstory but her character and using a minor character for her form...meh), some questionable character development in general and a big pet peeve of mine, villians defeated by other villians. Just to name a few things.
I prefer FMA Brotherhood over the original myself. The ending was more satisfying then the FMA movie that followed the original. In other news I just finished Guilty Crown... Now I don't know what to do with myself. I always feel weird when I finish an anime...
So...the new episode of Digimon Xros Wars: Young Hunters aired yesterday. You know what that means? MORE NERDGASMS!!!
WARNING: The following screen-grabs are somewhat spoiler-filled.
YES, THE FOLLOWING SCREEN-GRABS ARE SPOILER-FILLED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
...
Are you sure you want your screen-grabs to be spoiled?
...
...Are you still sure you want your screens soiled?
...
...Okay, go ahead, see if I care that your screens are soiled.
(This is grabbed from a scene where Takato is talking about Tai and Davis. Note how Takato actually knows Tai and Davis; it shows that he's still got knowledge of the seasons of Digimon that he watched. I just really love this small touch.)
Alright, here we get into some screen-grabs from the 30-second "Get-Ready-To-Fight" montage.
(Fun Fact: I believe this animation is taken directly from the fourth season of Digimon)
(Yes, Gallantmon is in this season. And Takato still looses all of his clothes when he transforms.)
Alright, now this is a real treat for viewers of the first season, Digimon Adventure.
...And here we have two other shout-outs, specifically for those that have seen Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.
Here we have some more screen-grabs, specifically from the "Evolved" forms of the Digimon that are in the episode. (Note; the first three screens are Tentomon talking about the evolved Digimon, the fourth screen is Grani talking.)

I hope Netflix adds the rest of Brotherhood soon, you're all making it sound amazing!
But for now, here's an oddly specific request: I need some suggestions for some good anime (movie or series) that is on iTunes but not on Netflix. I'm going on a trip soon and would like to have something to watch on the plane but I'd rather not spend money on something I could just get on Netflix. Right now, I'm thinking Broken Blade, has anyone watched that? Anyways, any and all suggestions are appreciated and the cheaper the better — I need to be saving my money for Brotherhood in case Netflix doesn't come through
Okay im looking for suggestions i pretty new to anime ive watched bleach, one piece, black lagoon [season1+2] and black cat im looking for something with bleach like fighting ie kick ass powers weapons and preferably blood but with a bit of humour thrown in thanks

@voulg160 I would suggest Reborn as its my favourite anime but at first its mainly humour and it takes a long time for for the story to really get going and for the awesome fights to start but when the story does get going it really is fantastic which is why its my favourite anime. If you're not prepared to wait for so long D.gray man is a good one to watch. I stopped watching it as it got too sacrilegious for my liking which surprised me as the members of the black order were said to have been chosen by God but that might not be something that bothers you.
A few days ago I saw the first episode of Pandora hearts which I really enjoyed and it looks like the 2nd episode will be where the main plot kicks in and I look forward to watching more of the series.
So does Kanon improve dramatically halfway through like Air did? Because if not I can't tolerate watching more of it (outside of pretending the main character is Kyon).
Have any other night owls been watching Adult Swim tonight?
I've been nostalgia'ing all over the place.
A rule of mine is: if you need nostalgia to keep an audience, you have failed (the only possible exception would be if nostalgia is the entire point). Comparing interest for CN at this very moment compared to the last few years I can safely say that CN has become a failure, using my logic.
Well, in this particular instance, I'd say nostalgia was mostly the point. For just one night/morning (April Fool's Day), Tom and Toonami were back with DBZ, Gundam Wing, Trigun (which I remember only being on Adult Swim and not Toonami, but I'm not complaining), Tenchi Muyo!, Blue Sub No. 6 , Outlaw Star, and Yu Yu Hakusho. They even had Steve Blum come in to do a few new bumps, a Mass Effect 3 review and aired one of their great old promos.

Amusingly, episode 7 was the first time I cared about anything happening. Which is exactly what happened in Air. Now we just need to get rid of half the characters (which I assume like Air are just characters from the Visual Novel this is from that are translated poorly and rushed for fanservice in the anime (or so I've heard)) which try to be funny but are not. They are not entertaining. They are basically K-On! if K-On! wasn't funny and had boring dialogue.

I thought it was a nice little treat. shrug
... You're serious? ... Adult Swim did something good? Something that good!? And I missed it!?! Uuuugh!
I recently finished watching Hetalia: Axis powers but the last episode wasn't as funny as some of the others but overall it was a very funny anime and I hope I'm able to get the movie on DVD as it wasn't released in Europe but it was in America. I'll also start watching Hetalia: world series at some point.
Also, today I saw the third Naruto movie and the second is easily the best of the three. That one was awesome but the first and third were just okay. Those two also have some similarities. Naruto and his allies in the movies have to escort someone or some people of importance who become(s) a better person/better people as the movie goes on and they both have uninteresting villains who have hired a group of three minor villains. They did have some awesome fights though but the villain of the third Naruto movie was pretty stupid and nonthreatening towards the end.
Can anyone recommend me a good anime on Netflix Instant? I've already watched Hikaru no Go and both Fullmetal Alchemists.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I thought that Mushishi, Baccano!, Naoki Urasawa's Monster, Darker Than Black, Moribito: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, Soul Eater, Gurren Lagann, Eden of the East, FLCL, Samurai 7, Spice and Wolf, Last Exile and Trigun were all very good-to-great.
@FonistofCruxis: Also, all three movies had great ending themes, especially movie 2. And the best part of movie three is Rock Lee's fight...
@RevolverLink: I agree with Moribito, Gurren Lagann, FLCL, Spice and Wolf and Trigun being awesome shows. The rest I either haven't seen or didn't care for (Monster (the ending killed it for me))...
