Am I the only one here that finds Digimon quite good?
Nah, Digimon's great. At least, the first 4 seasons are. We don't talk about Digimon Savers. Unlike, say, Pokemon, it has strong and meaningful character development, and Season 3 even had a well-thought-out story to it. Pretty impressive, for a kid's show.
Yeah, Digimon was probably one of the best shows I watched as a kid. And even as a kid I kinda knew how much better it was than the Pokemon anime. Especially Tamers. I didn't see season 4 until like 8th or 9th grade and while it probably wasn't as good as the others and the last arc SUCKED in general it wasn't that bad either. Don't really care about the series after that, which is a good thing about this show is that I don't feel obligated to watch it until it's gone forever.
I rewatched season 1 a couple of years ago and while it wasn't as good as I remembered, it was still really good for a series that could have existed solely to take money from children.

You're not alone, my friend. Digimon was pretty awesome and I think that's why I never got the Pokemon bug. I also consider the third season to be one of my most favorite anime series ever, which is really saying something considering that I despise most of the generic anime that is extremely popular nowadays.

1998 was a good year. Anyways, I spent the last few weeks watching just One Piece. Got in more than 50 episodes in a row. Now I'm on the Drum Island Arc, the one where they meet Chopper. I know I've been told that series gets exponentially better by the arc, but I never realized how right that was until I actually watched it. Every major arc was way better than the last, and at the end of each one I found myself saying "This is my new favorite Arc, they aren't gonna be able to top that!" With that said, the Drum Island Arc was an all-time favorite from when I watched the 4Kids dub, and it's even better than I remember. Chopper's Backstory has the biggest punch out of the whole group, IMO, and it plays into the rest of the arc pretty well. I don't recall the Alabasta Arc, which comes right after it, being able to top it, but I guess we'll see.
I started watching Keinichi. I'm not gonna judge the characters just from episode 1 but my god were they bland. At least the case's story seems pretty good.
I just finished Bakemonogatari, and it was awesome. I started it mainly because of Kanbaru's design, but came away with so much more. I'll probably wait until Nisemonogatari ends before watching it. I need more Kanbaru...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
Welp, a few days ago I finally took the One Piece plunge and I have to say... I'm already hooked. I'm 24 episodes in and I have a hard time coming up with another anime that has made me laugh as much as One Piece has (and when it isn't being funny, it's just plain fun). It'll probably be the only thing I'll watch for the foreseeable future though, finishing up Persona 4: The Animation and Un-Go excepted.

Fair warning, Kenichi doesn't really improve much in quality by the end. I really wanted to like it, but I thought it was a consistently "meh" and generic show the whole way through.

Have you only just started to watch One Piece I thought you, NL's resident anime expert, would have watched it ages ago.

I remember back when I was a kid I never liked Tamers, But I really liked Frontier. I guess I'll have to re watch it and see what I think.

My "OMG-YAY!!!" levels have increased exponentially;
I take it you've been watching Xros-Wars. Is it any good?
While I haven't watched the entirety of the first season of Xros Wars, I can say what my opinion of Xros Wars: Young Hunters is so far;
It's basically a fusion of Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Xros Wars, meaning that it carries both of those two season's weaknesses (minus 02's extremely annoying main cast). I'm also not a huge fan of how all of the digimon either appear as dragons/men in their evolved forms. They also mess up the evolution paths for a few specific digimon, the most notable of them all allowing Gabumon to evolve into a machine-gun wielding gangster who wears a wolf-skin as a mask/cape. My only real reason for watching the show to begin with was that it was revealed that this season would me a "Reunion" season where all of the main cast of the previous seasons would be present at some time during the season, and so far on that count I haven't been disappointed.

I recently finished watching Fooly cooly and I don't get why it gets so much praise. It was pretty good but I don't see how it got people calling it one of the best anime. I've also been using the FLCL wiki to get a better understanding of what went on in the show. Also, I like the look of Pandora hearts but was disappointed to find that its finished despite the fact that the manga is still going. Is it still worth watching despite this?

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! I freaked when I saw that pick, and then you say the whole season is like that!? Wtf??..? OMGGGGG!! Now I have a reason to finish Xeos Wars! How many episodes are there? I was on somewhere in the 30's.

Because it's hilarious, bizarre and somehow much deeper than Gainax's "deep" shows.

Personally, I didn't find it that funny and I don't see how its madness elevates it to such high levels of praise but I can see what you mean about how deep it is, even if it is hard to find where some of the deep aspects of the show come from, especially with the lack of explanations in the show. Also, it took a while for me to really become interested in the characters and story which isn't that good considering how short it is but to each their own.
