@jump the topics did seem different enough though, it is a nintendo site you should probably be allowed to have more than one Zelda topic going at once.
I think the topics are fairly distinct and can spark different discussions. But that being said, if you read the Essential Zelda Characteristics thread, you'll probably get an answer to the question you posed in your thread.
@jump Uh...how do I do that? I clicked on the mod's name but I can't find hiw to send a message. I'm not super experienced with the site and I'm working from a mobile phone since my computer is packed away, I may just be missing iy
I didn't like Breath of the Wild, have I mentioned it yet today?
@Cynas What I was going for was more trying to see the series through the eyes of fans to try and see what they like about it, not break it down into its tropes and gameplay elements.

We try to keep similar discussions limited to one thread.
I am afraid your thread is not different enough from that other one, and as Jump mentions, we've been having quite a few Zelda threads popping up lately.
After all, we don't want the forums to look like...
"What makes character design in Zelda games appealing?"
"Why do fans like Zelda music?"
"My ideas for BOTW 2"
"How difficult should Zelda games be?"
"Pokemon GO frend code, give gifts daily"
"Am I the only one that doesn't like Zelda games?"
"In your opinion, what makes a Zelda story a Zelda story?"
"What is it about Zelda games we like the most?"
"How would you improve the Zelda series?"
@Magitek_Knight The essential characteristics thread also has people talking about what characteristics they like in a Zelda game, not just breaking down each Zelda from an objective point of view. I'm not saying your other thread deserved to be locked, I'm just saying you might be able to get a bit more insight on your question by reading what parts of the series people like.
@Eel I wasn't aware there were a lot of topics done. I'm not a frequent user of the site and it's not my fault that similar threads have popped up. And the difference to me is a question of perspective: the thread I was redirected to was one by and for people that are already fans of the series whereas my thread is coming from someone that doesn't really get it.
As I say in my very first sentence I'm an outsider looking in and I don't really know Nintendo or Zelda that well. I've never completed a game in the series and have only briefly had a Nintendo system as my main, current generation console with the Gamecube, only for about a year before I switched back to Sony.
I'm kind of trying to figure out what makes the series so well loved because I kind of don't understand from my perspective. They're pretty good games but I wouldn't stack any that I've played up against the greatest games I've ever played. I'd like to look at the question through someone else's eyes by directly asking instead of having to distill the essence from other people's posts on the essentials of a game. I don't want to wade through dozens of pages of discussion that are only distantly related to my topic. The topic I was redirected to is 75 PAGES LONG.
A link can be found a the bottom of the page, with all the other links like "About us" and "Terms of Use". It's useful since your query is more likely to be read by an actual admin if you send it through there.
