Topic: Complete list of all past Club Nintendo monthly game rewards *(September 2014 update)*

Posts 1 to 20 of 22

September 2014 update details are just below this original December 2013 intro

Because I am beyond insane (and also due to an effort to make writing a novel seem easy by sheer comparison; bloody aspiring-writer's block), I have compiled a list of every game that has ever been offered for download on North America's Club Nintendo site.

Each game is listed in the following format with certain details:

Game title/Service type/Coins required/Month and year the game began its availability, followed by any applicable months/years where it returned

If a game was offered a second (or third, or fourth) time at a later date, that month and year will be listed immediately after the first date.

"Fun" facts:

  • Games have been offered on the North American Club Nintendo service for exactly two years, Dec/11-Dec/13.
  • In that time, 68 unique games have been available to choose from.
  • Of those games, 24 of them have been offered on two occasions.
  • Of those 24 games, six of them have been offered on three occasions.
  • One of the thrice-offered games is 3D Classics: Urban Champion. This game did not need to be offered three times.
  • Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings, and Art Style: Cubello are the only games that increased in redemption value (from 100 to 150 coins, as noted on the list) between their initial and most recent appearances. Their value grew in Nintendo's eyes, it would seem.

Now away we go, with the games listed in the order in which they were first released:

Hey all, I decided to update the list, so here's all of the games offered right up to August 2014, now at a total of 88 unique games (that is, if you don't include releases of the same game on two platforms as identical releases, such as NES title Punch-Out being offered as a reward on both 3DS and Wii U in the past). Also, there are now a whopping 16 games that have increased in coin price over the years (ctrl+f "(at" to see for yourself which ones, specifically, have increased).

With this month's update, we're now at 91 unique game offerings through Club Nintendo (but again, that's assuming you count releases of the same game on separate systems as unique games). Of the eight games offered this month, two are new (Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.), but ALL of the other six re-releases have increased in coin value since their previous release, putting the number of games that have seen multiple releases with coin inflation at 22. As before, ctrl+f "(at" to see which ones have seen the increase.

I must admit, I'm a little annoyed that not only has Super Punch-Out increased from 150 to 250 coins, but that it's still the Wii VC offering (despite being available on the Wii U's VC), meaning that apart from the 100 coin hike, I'd also have to pay the upgrade fee to have it on my Wii U's dash. Bah. I'll probably end up getting it anyway though, as new physical rewards seem to be a growing rarity these days (especially since this is the second month in a row that has seen eight digital rewards offered, suggesting that this is the new norm, and perhaps a way to phase out the physical rewards), and I've got coins that need spending.

Anyway, I hope some people find this list of interest; if nothing else, it can almost be used to predict when to expect certain games to return. For example, I had been expecting Kirby Super Star and Super Punch-Out to pop up again recently, as they've had yearly releases since 2012, and now boom, both at once! So if you're hoping for a previously released game reward to return, check the list and see if it's had multiple releases. If it has, and also hasn't seen a release this year, it may be on its way soon (sadly, this would also mean that 3D Classics: Urban Champion is due for a return shortly).

I actually appreciate this list, and the data collection. I'll use it as reference in the future. You should update it every month.

That said, the stat that 136 unique games have been offered is inaccurate, by about double. I didn't count them up, but it's closer to 70. Even if they offered 4 unique games a month, that could only total 100 games (4 x 25 months = 100). Plus we know it's not that high since, as you said, there have been numerous repeats.

Ugh, of course. When I used Word to do a line count, it included all of the manual double-spacing I did, doubling the true amount. Thanks for pointing that out; can't believe I didn't catch that myself (though in fairness, I was pretty wiped after finishing the list).

There have actually been 68 unique games offered, after counting them myself. Glad you appreciate my creating the list, and I'll consider updating it as time goes on.

I looked around for an edit option prior to my second post yesterday, but didn't see one, and still don't. Maybe it's not available right away to new users?

Hey kudos to the list; it's actually pretty helpful! It's up to you, but you could also add the titles that Nintendo offered as free downloads for Gold/Platinum members.
I think I've downloaded about 4 or 5 from Club Nintendo, saving me quite a few bucks in the process. If I remember correctly they were:
ExciteBike: World Rally
Metroid II
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Gold Membership free download)
Dillon's Rolling Western

3D Classics: Urban Champion is horrible. I regret buying that game with Coins. It was fun for literally 10 minutes before it grew stale.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

This actually was useful to me since I was wondering the likeliness of them offering a game I'd really like. I guess the answer is it's probably not going to happen. Haha, I'll pick something that isn't too terrible then...

Nintendo keeps pushing Urban Champion on people. UC is like that annoying guy nobody likes, but one of your friends continues to push on you anyway for some inexplicable reason. You smile politely while he's hanging around with your friend, but if you see him approaching on the same side of the street while you're alone you'll cross over to the other side so you don't have to talk to him.

Urban Champion was never a classic in the first place and should never have been remade.

Why was Urban Champion even a 3D Classics? I can't even defend that decision...
