Mr-X9000

ive discovered that the japanese have several turbo grafx 16 games on their virtual console, yet we don't even have ONE! even though it was announced(i think) back in 2011 that we'd be getting TG 16 games on 3DS eshop. anyone know why this is?

If Hudson was still officially a company, and they were calling the shots, we'd probably have them.

But now Konami is in charge, and obviously they only see it worthwhile to release the games in Japan (where the original console had more than a cult popularity).

I believe that basically Hudson created the TG16 and NEC was the distributor (as the chips inside are named "Hu-" after Hudson, as well as HuCard, the Japanese name for TurboChip, the ROM card media format). Konami bought Hudson around the mid 2000s and dissolved the brand in 2012.

The strange thing is the Japanese PC Engine emulator for the 3DS looks like it had quite a bit of effort put into it. (It has the turbo switches implemented on the touchscreen for example) but they only have a handful of games on it which seems very strange. (Especially as the 3DS is the one doing well).

If Nintendo said you can do it but only for a handful of games I dunno why they would bother.

There is like 5-8 really good Turbo games even worth mentiining. I also have most on Wii VC so I really don't need them again.

There is quite a few we never got that are good / really good (More importantly that are unplayed by me, probably by most people).

Seirei Senshi Spriggan
Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire
Cotton
Magical Chase
Super Darius 1 & 2
Hellfire S
Dungeon Explorer 2
1941: Counter Attack
The best versions of Ninja Gaiden / Double Dragon 2 (NES versions working properly).
Salamander (Proper Version of Life Force with the most fun bits intact)

Briefly tested on an emulator some but not played properly any of them other than Spriggan

Japan has a lot of games that aren't on the American VC. If you look at their YouTube page, it seems like they get a VC game every day.

I wouldn't count on it.
Konami has only released four games in Japan, and one of those is China Warrior. Which they chose over BONK, the **** MASCOT GAME!
They can't be trusted.
